So I'm sure I got an automated response from Patrick Downs that said they had received my email and it would be in contact with me shortly. Next contact was them asking my preferred method of contact which I responded email please. I waited one business day and a half for a response and had received none to responded to them I guess I can't get the price ? To still get no response . One day later went to ruges Dodge to complain in person . Online it says they open at 8:30 on the door it says they open at 9:00 I went in at 9:00 and the nice lady working the sales desk told me the manager comes in usually around 10:00 . She said the person I was emailing was their internet salesperson which doesn't matter to me I was just trying to buy a car . Maybe my review is in the wrong place but the car was on their lot that I was looking to buy. This is not my first interaction with this dealership I had left my information 4 or 5 years ago to purchase a vehicle and I had received no response and bought my car somewhere else . They responded a year later asking me if I was still in the market for a vehicle . Probably a new salesman just reaching old contacts . Anyhow that was my experience . read more

Just bought a 3 year old certified pre-owned Jeep Cherokee from them last week. Before buying, the sales rep said the service department would do an inspection, fix any problems, etc before picking it up the next day. About 2-3 minutes after driving the car off the lot, I started seeing messages on the dash saying "ACC/FCW (adaptive cruise control / forward collision warning) Limited Functionality, Service Required". Along with a message alerting me the car was in "battery protection mode". And a few other problems (like automatic high beams not working). I called the same day telling them of the issues. A week later, I'm currently sitting in the service center waiting for the car to be fixed having barely owned the car for 7 days, with my fingers crossed that they won't try to bill me for what should have been fixed before driving the car off the lot. Word of advice: if you buy a car from them and they tell you the service department will find/fix any issues before you drive it off the lot... double check everything and don't trust that they do what they actually say. read more

Brought a Ram 1500 to get fixed, I was having wheel senser issues the parking brake did not work, it need an alignment and there was a recall on it. Got it back with scratches all over the hood front bumper and if the alignment was done it was done poorly. Canceled credit card payment if they want their money they can take me to court. If you own or plan to buy a Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep and do not go to Ruge's in Rhinebeck you will miss out on the best sales and service departments anywhere. The sales department is courteous and helpful, knowledgeable about the products, and most important, not pushy! This is the most congenial group of people I have ever met at any car dealership. The service department at Ruge's Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep is fabulous. It starts with a group of extremely nice and friendly service writers who will really do everything they can to help you. In an emergency, they will always find a way to squeeze your vehicle in to their schedule and get you back on the road. They are caring about you and your car and they treat you like a valued customer every time you walk through the door. You will never find any surprise charges at the end of your service experience as these people communicate everything clearly and completely so you always know what to expect. This is NOT a dealership service group trying to make you spend every last dollar on fancy services that you can really do without. They will advise you of necessary and suggested services to keep your vehicle in top shape but will not be abusive or cranky if you choose not to have them done. They are realistic in their approach to taking care of a vehicle without being excessive or pushy. Behind this great group of service writers is a superbly qualified group of service technicians. All of the work done on my cars has been done accurately, cleanly, and without any problems. I have never had to bring the car back because something else was broken or anything was done incorrectly. These mechanics pay attention to every detail and my cars have never been taken care of this well anywhere else. Finally, there is the service manager. Besides getting credit for excellent management of this incredible service team, he deserves credit for excellent customer service and dedication to customer needs. He does not hesitate to come out of his office to work alongside his service writers and mechanics to make sure issues are resolved in the best and fastest way possible. In other dealerships, you may never meet or even see the service manager but at Ruge's he is part of the service team and is there to help each and every customer. His personalized approach to service is what leads this entire service group to excellence. I have been servicing my Jeep vehicles at Ruge's service department for 8 years (since I moved to the Rhinebeck area). They have never let me down. The lack of business ethics is astounding. We took our 01' Subaru in for new brakes and a new clutch. The service tech calls us to tell us that the frame is rusted out, there is an oil leak as well as a transmission leak. They gave us an estimate of $6,000 and the advice to look into a new car. We went to our regular auto mechanic for a second look at the car. Turns out ABSOLUTELY NOTHING which Ruge's recommended needed to be done. It was just fear tactics to sell us a car. Almost a parody of crooked car dealers, this review for Ruge's Chrysler has been 14 years in the making. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO RUGE'S CHRYSLER for service under any circumstance. And do not purchase a car from them. They prey on people new to the area and the elderly - my grandmother bought an overpriced used lemon from them a few years ago for $6,000. It didn't last eight months. They will take every last dollar out of your pocket, knowing that people are dependent on having a car in this area and there aren't a great deal of options. Thousands of dollars to repair things that break again two months later. Second-rate parts, etc. Drive across the river to Kingston instead. Get your car tuned up at Jiffy Lube. Faster, more affordable and reliable- no appointments needed. Don't buy Ruge's folksy friendly BS. They are heartless thieves who will rope you in with fake deals. My mother purchased 5 oil changes and was told she could use them toward her second vehicle (since the one she was having an oil change on is usually in Jersey and she has no way of getting 5 oil changes for the car in one year.) They even confirmed this on the phone when we scheduled an oil change for our second car! Then when we got there they did not honor their word. There were a dozen exceptions where the deal doesn't apply. I hope this place closes down. They are villains. read more

Never trust a car dealership where the internet works outside, but mysteriously doesn't work inside the dealership..... Service department is very expensive. Me "the rear door latch is broken." Ruges, after looking at the car for hours, "the rear door latch is broken. That'll be $55 for diagnosis. $287 more to actually fix it. But we don't have the part". This is a $92 part and, at best, a half hour job. read more

They were incredibly friendly and flexible with scheduling the appointments over the phone and at the front desk, and threw in a loaner vehicle so I wouldn't be stuck in the service center for hours with my small baby. read more

Although I've only been using this place to service my vehicle since the place I bought my vehicle from went out of business many years ago, Ruge's has always been there for me. Although their prices are quite steep, and they do tend to overlook small things until I diagnose the problems, I do tend to go back there. This past May, when my vehicle needed to pass inspection and my auto-mechanic couldn't finish the deal, he told me that only my nearest Chrysler location could finish it. Not cool- but I had to oblige or it wouldn't have passed inspection (it did pass the day the temporary inspection paper was bound to expire for the prolapsed second time). Although they passed it with only a few moderate fixes that cost me over $1000 worth of work (but only a small amount of this was parts-cost) (I have a 1998 vehicle so attention to detail is critical), the time it took them was well worth it. Though I had to return to partake to find out other problems another place told me to look into, Ruge's said to fix this, another $1000+ dollars would be needed. This does sound absurd, and due to the age of the car, I'll deal with the problems another way. From other experiences dealing with them in the past, they've always charged a ton of alot of cash more. A second set of remote controls for my vehicle cost me over $70 when I purchased them (most of this was due to the programming cost since programming of the remote can only be done at the dealer, and there's no self-programming method available). I've had other work done that was under warranty, and although I've lived with other resultant problems of these fixes (after the gearshift lever had to go in to be fixed for it "slipping from Park to Reverse") it now slips from Neutral to Drive super-easy... Other jobs they've performed on my vehicle showed their service center to be also problematic.. Be pretty diligent in knowing other ways out, when you see them asking for more money, and second-guess them! Personally, I'm in a position to be forced to use them, and when I've heard other rumors that the Chrysler-Dodge dealer across the river is just as inaccurate, I kind of have to take it here instead, and I'll deal with problems as they arise. read more

I bought a new ram over the summer from Scott. He hooked me up with the exact truck that I needed and wanted. He was super easy to deal with and gave me the rock bottom price right off the bat! Final Transaction went smooth and all the extras that I added and wanted added to the truck were installed ASAP. Very good company and one of the best sales men I have dealt with in a long time. We have used begnal motors in kingston for years but had problems with the sales manager on our last jeep Cherokee they were less than honest threw the whole process.we needed new tires and decided to try Ruges the service was great and at that time explained to is the oil changes we purchased at time of sale from begnal would be honored by Ruges.begnal never informed us of any of that.and begnal charged us 20.00 to rotate tires which Ruges said they will do 4 times for free.I think we found a new place to do business read more

You can't get any better then these folks. My wife and I were on our way to a conference in Tennessee when our car broke down. The first thing I did was call Ruge's and it was the best thing I could have done. The car was towed to a dealership in Virginia and if it wasn't for Bo and the rest of the staff at Ruge's it might still be there. Bo was calling the dealership in Virginia multiple times each day to find out how he could help move the repair along. Every time I would stop in or call the service dept they would tell me they just got off the phone with Bo. I have never had a better service experience. I was so happy I bought a new truck at the dealership as soon as I returned home. read more

One of the smooths transactions I have ever encounter with a dealership! Let me first preference this review by saying that any serious car buyer should do their research before stepping foot into a dealer's lot. Know the car you want, its history and shortcomings and stick a budget you already worked out. With that said, I must of spent an hour totaled between two days (first day was just me going over the car) finalizing the business transaction with my sales rep Krista; speaking of whom is one the coolest sales rep at Ruge's CDJ. Not only was I not pressured into purchasing any additional services, Krista drove out to the bus stop to pick me up because my only means of getting to the dealership was via public transportation. Coupled with the fact that she was well informed and flexible with my requests made the transaction that much smoother. I have a 2008 Dodge Caliber, we have 2 keys, but the car would only start with one of the keys, I was a couple miles from an ex Dodge dealer who still works and sells parts for Dodges. They told me that i needed a new key and they would order one for 148.00 then i would have to get it programed for the car. I told them to hold off ordering any keys as i wanted to go to an authurized dealer.the place where i bought the car got axed by Chrysler. I knew of RUGE's as i pass by there every couple weeks and had never heard anything bad about them. I made an appointment and took the car there planning on spending a couple hundred but at least they are still Dodge dealers and have all the diagnostic eq. to ck out the car. I got there early and luckily a tech had just finished a job and they took my car right in. About 40minutes later my car was done and it was just over the 36000 warrenty, but it really didn't matter, we needed 2 keys that would start the car. In my mind i figured that it would at least cost me an hours labor and the price of a couple keys. The bill was $32.44, probably what it cost them to heat the place back up after opening the doors to get the car in. I recently purchased a '15 Wrangler Unlimited from Ruge's C/J/D in Rhinebeck, NY. It was an excellent experience and believe me I did my homework first before I decided to go with them. I live in central NJ and purposely I went with Ruge's based on previous reviews and telephone conversations. I got a fair deal on my Honda trade-in and a very good deal with no hassles, games or hidden fees for the JK. The manager JC and Jessica were very helpful and attentive, I would highly recommend them. Overall, a very nice moderate-size family-owned dealership; when you call, you talk to 1 of 5 sales people, not 100 as in any large NJ/PA/NY dealership near the big metro areas.
