The brakes on my 44' triple axle gooseneck trailer were not working correctly. I was only in the Phoenix area for a few days. They were able to get me in the day after I called. Based on my description, they told me that the repair would be a couple thousand of dollars. However, once they inspected it, the brakes were just out of adjustment. They greased all the wheel bearings and adjusted all the brakes for less than a thousand dollars. This shop is very professional and honest. We arrived for a two night stay with our 38 foot travel trailer when we discovered one of the shankle links was broken. Last winter I bought a boat with a "free trailer" which came with a few unexpected trailer surprises. The trailer's surge brake master cylinder was empty and completely rust-filled. The disc brakes, also were rusted and the wheel bearings were shot. Realizing the needed repairs exceeded my skills, I searched for trailer experts. That's when I found Rucker Trailer Works on Yelp. Their great Yelp reviews gave me confidence to talk to them. I made an appointment to bring the trailer in for them to look it over and give me an estimate, which I accepted. A few days later I got a call that the trailer was done and ready to be picked-up. They completely replaced the entire surge brake system, wheel bearings (with Bearing Buddies), and they replaced several lights. After connecting the trailer to my truck, they noticed the trailer brake locked when backing-up. I was surprised because I had my favorite auto repair shop install 7-way trailer connector last year. The Rucker crew had seen this problem before and told me that the "Yellow Back-up wire" had not been connected when the 7-way was installed. They immediately crawled under my pickup and added the yellow wire. Turns out that the yellow wire is used to disable the trailer surge brakes when backing, and is not needed for electric brake trailers. At the time the 7-way connector was installed, my only trailer had electric brakes and I didn't think to ask that the yellow wire be connected. The bottom line is that my favorite auto repair shop is still my favorite, and Rucker Trailer has earned my highest possible review. I feel fortunate that I found Rucker and I intend to have them do all my future trailer work. I was calling around trying to find a 5th wheel hitch the day of New Year's Eve. It's rare enough to have a 20k B&W in stock, but they had it, below market price. I went right over and three guys came out and installed it as well at not extra cost. Totally great service and good guys. Here is where they took their services even further-- I already had a slider hitch in my truck and they offered to sell it for me since I was from out of town and in the midst of a road trip with my family. They took on all my parts, put them on a pallet and said they would see it and send me the proceeds. Come on' that's just good people there!!! This shop operates like I imagine service used to be in the 1950's; when a business actually appreciated your business and worked to keep it. What a gem, tucked away on MacDonald. I arrived before they were open and was pleased to see ample street parking and nice wide streets. I'm new to towing this trailer and was relieved to see that I could easily park out front and wait--no hassles. Neil couldn't have been more helpful, courteous, and professional. And when I returned later, and had trouble backing up to the hitch ball.....Neil and his coworker jumped right in and didn't let me struggle. I went to RTW for a repack of the bearings and for a second chain. Neil cut the very long chain I had into two pieces, did some welding, attached the "new" second chain to the trailer and saved me some $.
