I took in both complete spring packs off my 3/4 ton pickup truck to be re-arched or replaced. They said they were too worn to be re-arched and should instead be replaced. I agreed and also asked them to go ahead and just replace everything, shackles, bolts, u-bolts and overloads. Paid upfront with my credit card and a week later, my parts were ready for pickup. Picked them up and went to install them. That's when i noticed an issue. There was a set of spring alignment pins for a Freightliner but there were no overload springs. It's easy enough to return the pins but without those overload springs, it is not possible to tighten the u-bolts as i am unable to use the existing top plate or cast iron spacer because of the overload spring alignment nubs that are cast into the part. So, at that point the installation could go no further. I called Spectrac to try to figure out what happened and what needed to happen next. This is where things get weird. I "assumed" that the semi truck pins were supposed to be the overload springs and someone had an oops moment. It happens to us all from time to time so no big deal. Then i'm told that the only mistake was giving me the pins and if i wanted the overload springs i had paid for already, i would be blessed with the opportunity to pay for them again. After having already spent $900 on rear leaf springs, overloads, shackles, bolts, and u-bolts, i was repeatedly, but politely, told that these are not "usually" included with rear springs and that if i wanted to finish this installation, buying new overload springs from them was my only option. That is not an option. So, here i sit with an undrivable truck, a $900 hole in my wallet, and a company that could care less. All because of two overload springs i already bought and have not received. read more

Poor customer service. Called for an appointmn. Told to drop off vehicle at 7AM. First one there. Called at 10AM for a progress update. Told there was one "on the rack and another in line." Went back at 1PM. My vehicle was "on the rack." Advised that I could wait in waiting room across the parking lot. Waited until 3PM. Inquired with staff in waiting room, which are apparently not associated with "Service." She inquired on progress and relayed that Service needed 10 more minutes to complete paperwork. Arrived back at service to a bill that was $30 more than quoted, because of the make of my vehicle, which they knew when quoting. They gave me someone else's keys and advised that I should walk back in the lot to get my vehicle. Service team could use some training on efficiency and customer service! Been going to Spectrac since it first opened. Has always been a great place to take a modified vehicle. Not anymore. Took them a Jeep with a lift and long arm kit they had aligned twice before. Gave them the specs for toe and caster from the long arm kit manufacturer (not the first time they had aligned it with the lift and long arms). They refused to put the proper caster in because of the front drive line angle and left it at approximately 0 degrees. I've owned the vehicle for 24 years. Adjusted the caster myself, and it drives much better without any driveline vibration. I'll be looking for a new alignment shop. read more

Spec-trac was recommended by Jerry over at Desert RV. We needed Sumo Springs installed on an RV rear axle in order to remedy bottoming out on driveways. Not complicated, but heavy duty truck work to be sure. Called up. Service rep Bob and Morrow fixed us up. Parts came. Service rep Bob put us right on schedule. In the shop. They found damage from a previous failed spring. Bob fixed that, installed the new heavy duty springs and it all came in at budget. Thanks! We trust these guys with this RV chassis work. I went in for an alignment on my front axel of my Class C Motorhome. Over the phone I was quoted $160. I brought the rig in and confirmed price of $160 again. They got the service finished within a few days and called me to let me know it was ready for pick up. Upon picking up my bill was $260. I asked what happened, they said they had replace a part during the alignment. They didn't call me or inform me of this prior, just expected me to pay the extra $100. Gave 2 stars for quality service as the alignment seems to be sufficient. read more

I have always had great service here. My friends have also had great service. Having said that I'm a little disappointed with them this morning. I made an appointment two weeks ago for a bearing repack and when I arrived they had me unhook my 5th wheel before I checked in. Once inside I was told that they might not get to it until tomorrow. I keep my trailer under an awning in Arizona due to the sun and heat. I was not happy leaving it there since the temperatures are in the mid 90's today. It was as if they only have one tech that can work on repacking bearings. I will update this post after I see if indeed my trailer will be sitting there all day until tomorrow. Updated. They did manage to get my vehicle done that day and fixed another potential problem before we leave on our summer trip. Look forward to a long summer of traveling. Spectrac custom built and installed an axle for my 1973 13' fiberglass camper trailer in less than a week. They added extra height to the axle which gave the camper additional clearance. Bought a brand new Ram 3500. It drove right for the first year. After the first year, the vehicle started pulling to the right. Took it to Earnhardt Dodge in Gilbert twice regarding pulling to the right. Both times, the dealer said all alignment was within specifications and refused to fix anything. I replaced all six tires on the truck with less than 15,000 miles chasing the issue to no avail. One service advisor went so far as to say, 'it's a dually, it's supposed to pull to the right." Wrong. After awhile the new right tire began to show significant wear on the outer tire. An obvious symptom of something out of alignment. Finally, I found Spectrac. One visit and they found what the dealer would not or could not. The toe was out of specification. Once corrected, the vehicle finally drives straight again! The dealer cost me a set of front tires due to their shoddy ways and lack of concern. Spectrac is the best. Highly recommended!!! read more

I would never recommend this shop to anyone. Do not drop your trailer off to get a quote. Spectrac will charge you 130$+ just to pick it up after giving you a ridiculous quote. Straight line suspension over on main and gilbert charged me 835$ to replace a torsion axle that would have costs me over 2800$ here. Straightline did not pay me to say this, im just an average guy just trying to get his trailer fixed. read more

I pulled into Spectrac needing a dust cap cover for an RV that we rented. The gentleman at the counter had one of his service guys take a look at the bearings. He said they looked pretty dry, they were just closing up for Labor Day weekend. His tech cleaned the bearings with some brake cleaner, put some fresh grease in there and gave me a dust cap cover. OMG!!! They are the best!!! Rob Vickman in Service Dept. is so attentive. He always explained what was needed and why. Cory also is a valuable part of the service team. We have a 2017 36' 5th wheel that (we thought) needed a simple wheel alignment. We were called back to see "a very large problem" that was much worse than the need for an alignment. They showed us that the leaf spring hanger was badly rusted and totally broken off. The other 5 hangers were also badly rested and soon would also break off. They offered a very detailed extensive repair plan that involved basically a rebuild of the under structure and suspension of the 5th wheel. They allowed me to go under and observe for myself. Cory suggested to "upgrade the leaf springs because the labor would be included in the repair and our cost would be for the parts only" GOOD IDEA CORY. The work took 5 days and they continually communicated with us as to the progress. At one point Rob called to say "the cost of the alignment would be less expensive by upgrading the axles to new and heavier ones". GOOD IDEA ROB. They even allowed us to spend the night on their driveway so we would be there at 7am to get started early. Rob also worked with our warranty company to allow for an onsite inspection which meant leaving the 5th wheel up on jacks for an extra day. Spectrac is an Lippert authorized company so we know that had Lippert's blessings. Rob also helped with the communication with Lippert and the 5th wheel manufacturer and as a result Lippert is going to participate in the cost. WOW...what else could one ask for...THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU...especially ROB. We recommend that ANYONE WITH AN RV should stop in for a maintenance check if you are in the Phoenix AZ area. read more

Spectrac does what's right! We purchased a replacement rear axle for our tandem axel flatbed trailer from Spectrac. Once we installed it at home we noticed the tires stuck out an extra inch on both sides than the front axel. We talked to Spectrac and they said they would make it right, and they did! They discovered the axel was incorrectly marked so they not only got the right axel, but they removed the wrong axel and installed the right axel free of charge with all new hardware. Spectrac is a company that stands behind their product and does the right thing for their customers. For any suspension needs, I will be retuning to Spectrac and recommending to anybody who asks. read more

spectrac is not the place to go for repairs or for service if you value safety. there has been many buses and trailers that have came back to have work properly done. they keep saying its do to bad technicians,thats true. they have technicians that are not certified to do the work required. would you trust your families safety to bad service? They issues in there alignment department. i had my vehicle there several times for the same issue. They did alignment time after time to eliminate a vibration. It turned out to be the driveline. they have there techs overlook the problems then have a master tech to double check there work and the things they missed that should have been done the first time. i would really think about taking your buses,rvs,trailers to a different shop, maybe straightline can get it done right for you. read more

I recommend Spectrac for any and all your suspension needs.. Especially leaf springs and U-Bolts. (They make U-Bolts while you wait) as well as trailer supplies. I found Spectrac about 5 years ago. I was looking for OEM leaf springs for the rear of my '88 Jeep Wrangler YJ. He ordered exactly what I asked for. A set of OEM leafs. He even met me after work and gave me the springs because I couldn't make it before they closed. I installed them and after a one week Hunting trip they had a negative arch. I returned to Spectrac and spoke to Brian and he said they will take care of it. (After all... These springs were ordered from another manufacturer) He ordered me another set from another manufacturer and I installed them... I returned 2 weeks later with a negative arch issue again. Brian informed me that they would take care of it. I returned the bad springs.. He said he would talk to his spring guy and get them fixed. to make a long story short.. they completely disassembled the 2nd set of OEM Springs and completely rebuilt them using only the top leaf out of the OEM Set. That was 2 years ago. These springs have been in some incredible positions when wheeling here in Arizona. I would just like to thank Brian and the folks at Spectrac for having awesome customer service and standing behind something they sold even though it was built originally by another manufacturer. read more

Will never ever use Spectrac again. I brought in my large diesel Isuzu NPR truck to them because the brakes were soft. They replaced brakes on all four corners. When I drove it off their lot the pedal went to the floor. I turned around and left it there again. The next day they called and said I needed all new wheel cylinders. I agreed for the additional work and called the next day to see if I could pick it up. They said that it now needs a master cylinder and brake booster!! What! I again agreed to the additional cost and another day without my truck. I finally picked it up just as they were closing. Every single brake part was replaced. I paid a fortune and got the keys. They were locking the door behind me to close for the evening as I left. I got in the truck and as I was entering the street the brake petal again dropped to the floor!!! I had the use the e-brake to stop! Spectrac was closed so I drove it straight to the Isuzu dealer using the E-brake lever to stop at lights. The next day the Isuzu dealer called for me to pick it up. They said that the only thing that was wrong all along was that these brakes are manually adjusted!! I immediately remembered back in the day when old car needed manually adjusted. It's a very easy thing to do and that was the only problem all along. I had no idea that some newer truck didn't have automatically adjusted brakes. Most vehicles adjust automatically and Isuzu NPRs do not. Because Spectrac hires all these high school kids and untrained employees they didn't know how to adjust them. My brakes were perfectly fine all along and just need adjusted every so many miles!!! It cost me a fortune. They basically stole the money from me because of their incompetence. read more
