This has been a tough year for car batteries! I bought a battery about a year and a half ago from O'Reilly Auto parts. And anybody that lives in the desert knows car batteries do not do well in a very hot temperatures and very cold temperatures. Which we seem to have an abundance of both in 2023. My battery started showing signs of going bad and I stopped in at O'Reilly Auto parts I did not have my receipt for the battery that I bought there a year and a half ago. I do always use my phone number when I buy auto parts just in case I have an issue. Cody was working, he is the assistant manager of the store. For some reason their computer system was having issues and he was not able to look up my phone number in their system. Cody was very patient and tried several different ways to locate my phone number in the computer. He even called another store whose computer was working and was able to locate my information so I could get the warranty claim on the battery. I appreciate the fact that he stuck with it and was able to get the issue resolved. The computer did finally start working so that helped. But Cody was not going to give up until he got that battery changed. I highly recommend O'Reilly Auto parts. read more

Just had a very poor experience with O'Reillys and I won't be back. This is the location on Guadalupe and Gilbert. I feel duped and disrespected. I called them on the evening of 09/03 to ask if they had a battery that fits my car. I believed that my last battery was purchased with AutoZone 4 years ago and I tell them this. They have only 3 year warranty options available (more $$$) and I stress that I can't afford more than a 2 year, and then the assistant store manager Cory makes it seem like he's going to do me a great service and price match a similar battery with Walmart, and is going out of the way to even look for a lower price for me. Red Flag #1 (I didn't realize at the time) is when Cory asks why I don't want a 3 year and I say, "I don't need a 3 year since my battery lasted 4 years anyway", and Cory says "I can see why you would think that". He pulled my info with just my phone number and that surprised me because I don't remember shopping with O'Reilly before. This was Red Flag #2 but I didn't think on it further. I thanked him sincerely, went to the store that night and bought it. While checking out Cory once again gave a whole song and dance about how he's helping me out here, no problem at all. Red Flag #3, is looking back and forth with the other store associate in a peculiar way. As though they know something I don't, or Cory doesnt want the other associate to say anything. Something felt 'off' the whole time. The afternoon of 09/04 I go to return my old battery for the core exchange. Partnered with store manager Bryan and brought up that it was odd that my info pulled up, I realized I have an O'Reilly brand battery in my car currently, and is it possible my battery was actually within warranty? Bingo. My warranty ends 09/23/23, I bought it with them in 2021. I just barely caught it before that warranty ran out. I ask how and why Cory could have missed this information and Bryan gives a vague "well did he look at your car? No? Must not have been looking at that screen". He then talks me into keeping the battery as a purchase rather than taking advantage of the warranty in a convoluted way, by making it sound like it's a better deal to simply buy my battery now so it has three year warranty starting today rather than running out of warranty in 20 days. What an idiot I am. Of course the better deal is to get a FREE battery while it's within warranty for the last 20 days. What are the odds something will happen to a brand new battery? Even if it did, I was already going to buy a new battery. Literally trying to rob me of the last few days I could use the warranty. Thanks for making me look like a dingus, Bryan. I'm sure y'all had a good laugh when I left. I came back an hour later to get the full refund and use my warranty. Bryan didn't look too happy about it. Sorry you didn't get a measly $173 for your store this month by trying to trick someone with slimy sales tactics. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never return to another O'Reilly. read more

Rainy, stormy weather in Arizona? Broken windshield wiper? No problem. Mason helped me out in no time. He was able to find me the right windshield wipers for my car, and ones that were within my budget too. Not only that, he went outside to help me switch my windshield wipers as well. And on top of all that, he didn't just do it for me, but was willing to teach me how to do it so that I could do it myself next time. Customer service on point here. Thanks for the help Mason! I needed a new battery. I called and received great help over the phone and they matched the dealers price (which was lower) for my Toyota battery for my RAV4. To my great surprise they assisted me in replacing the battery, which was a life saver at the time as I had a torn rotator cuff injury. Mason was extremely helpful and I also appreciated his thanking me for my service (I had a disabled veteran license plate). I highly recommend this store and commend their staff. read more

Excellent! The manager, David, addressed us when we walked in, tested our battery, looked up our best deal on a battery then carefully installed it for my elderly parents. I happened to have a similar problem the same week but chose to visit a competitor just down the street instead - the ones in yellow and blue - big mistake. They treated me like I was putting them out, gave me an incorrect diagnosis on my new battery and took forever to do it. I Definitely recommend this O'Reillys store based on my experience. read more

Came in a few days ago cause I tried to jumpstart my car that has been sitting for a few months. Battery started fine, but when I turned the car off and tried to turn it back on it wouldn't. So decided to get a new battery since mine was almost 3 years old. I went in with my FIL since he was helping me with getting it started and we went to the battery section and put in my car info to find the right size. They had several different kinds and when we couldn't find the one we were looking for we asked an employee, Dave, to help us out. Turned out they kept the one we were looking for behind the counter so he said no problem and grabbed the correct one for us. Dave was extremely friendly and courteous. I came back shortly after to return my core and I was surprised to find out he's only been working here for 2 weeks and runs a 4 wheel store on the side. He was awesome, the other gentleman that was working with him that night was also extremely nice but I didn't get his name. Will be coming here for any future help! read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I went in a few months back because my headlights were dim and I wanted to change them out for brighter ones. I didn't quite know which bulb was meant for my vehicle due to my dealership giving me one answer, online searches giving another, and stores a third. I went in and asked one of the guys if they knew, they weren't sure so they wanted to take one of my bulbs out which I was hesitant in doing since the space in my car to take out bulbs is too small and requires you to take the light housing out, but I agreed reluctantly anyway. So this kid comes out to help me, looks like he's 17-18 which was a giant red flag for me; I didn't want some high school teen messing with my car. So the kid goes and tells me he will take the light out and I say ok. He opens my hood and unscrews the cap but accidentally removes my blinker light, he puts it back in but now it no longer works for some reason. He takes it out and puts It back in and the light still stays broken (keep in mind it was functional before). Now he starts messing with the headlight and manages to take it out, we in turn confirm the bulb type. He then struggles to put it back in and I tell him it's fine leave it but he keeps messing with it suggesting he'd like to jam a screwdriver in there to put it into place. I say no. A half an hour passes with him messing with my headlight, not being able to put it back in, so I tell him to stop so I can leave and have my dealership do it since he obviously doesn't know what he's doing. So then he starts taking my whole headlight housing out and at this point I become extremely reluctant and tell him it's fine, I don't need to do this I'll have my dealership fix it. He states no, he has this, he will fix it. He continues pulling on my light (my light is screwed to the bottom so you need to take the bumper off to get it out) and then all of a sudden a loud plastic breaking sound comes from my light. I immediately tell him to stop and just leave it alone. He does finally. He puts a few screws back in to secure my light back into place but my light at this point is sitting funny at an angle because he broke a clip under it that holds it in place. I literally came in with a functioning vehicle and left with a broken light bulb, a broken blinker bulb, and a broken clip causing my light to sit unevenly. Why in the world would you hire kids to do this job?! I don't trust anyone under 30 touching my car, they're inexperienced and only THINK they know what to do when in reality they know nothing! I called the manager the next day and he offered to reimburse me once it was all fixed out of my own pocket. I mean I don't mind doing that but really it should be them paying for it from the get go. I have since repaired the damage and It has cost me 150; this shouldn't have happened, all I wanted was to change my headlight bulbs for 30-40 bucks but instead spent 3x more to repair damage to my vehicle because some kid was trying to play mechanic. read more

I was stressed to the max after getting safely home from work and going back out to a car that wouldn't start! I called the store on Gilbert/Guadalupe where I bought the battery at almost 9 and spoke to Zack, he advised that if I could get a jump and get to the store, he'd check my alternator and battery. I jumped it and made it to the store at 9:30. Both employees were very nice, even though they were closing soon. Zack came out, checked my alternator & battery as promised & determined that the battery was bad. He promptly processed my warranty and had a new battery installed in minutes! Having this done so seamlessly and quickly in a pinch saved my night! Thank you O'Reilly for hiring Zack, thanks a million Zack! You are the example of good customer service! read more
