Brought in my Forest River 5th Wheel RV after breaking a Leaf Spring the month prior. I was having some issues with the axles being offset from each other. They were able to fix my problems within three hours. The wheels on the rear axle are now back in line with the front axle. Straightline Suspension treated me very well. Mike, I appreciate your response. I understand the concept of a 90 day warranty. I also know you did not know how the vehicle was used. I do and it had no stress or impacts. That is beside the point. I believed RV Country when they said the bend in the axel was certainly unusual. There was no other damage under the RV that would indicate that I had hit something. Yet, you refused to even go the few short blocks to look at the trailer and personally talk to the professionals at RV Country. I was not looking for you to pay for my repairs just have a discussion about what might be done. It is obviously a nice gig you have. Most of the time for RVs that are used once a month or so you have no responsibility beyond 90 days. Most of the time one would never notice serious tire wear within that time. Great to be able to not take any accountability. In addition, that does not excuse the rude manner of Marc. If you only see your customers as money in the bank, I feel sorry for you. I stand by my position as before. I believe Straight Line Suspension is at least partly responsible for me having to not just replace a bearing but the entire axel. But I am sure you won't lose any sleep over the issue as SLS does not strike me as being a company of particularly high integrity. If you were, there would have been a little bit different response to the inquiry. Again, I have used Spec Trac with great success, quality, integrity etc. read more

I needed a brake flush on our motorhome and asked for a price. The answer was "It depends on what else we have to do" At this point i should have moved on to a different shop. They know exactly how much they would charge for a brake flush but don't want to make it clear to the customer. So I took our motorhome in, the mechanic drove it for about 1/2 hour (I don't know for what purpose) and then he started his job. After about 1.5 hours he was done and took it for another "test drive of almost 1 hour. I was under the impression that this mechanic thinks that its more fun to drive around than to work on vehicles. So the bill for changing the brake fluid at the end was $ 300,- I won't come back. read more

These guys Mike and Marc are true professionals and do superior work. I towed my 18,000 lbs toyhauler trailer on 2 of the three axles all the way from Southern California to the shop in Mesa, Arizona. My third axle had busted a leaf spring and was torn out from under the trailer while towing. I researched the issue for a couple weeks and figured out that the suspension assemblies on these big trailers are extremely light-duty junk! I researched shops and heard good things about Straightline. I showed up before their starting hours on a Monday morning and they took me right in. They further explained to me all the components of my junk suspension and had all the heavy duty components on hand to show me the difference. I had them change out all 6 leaf springs, cut and re-weld 4 sets of suspension mounting brackets, install a complete heavy duty set of equalizer components, replace my third axle and do an alignment on all three axles. They also went above and beyond and welded 2"x1" metal stabilizer bars from side to side connecting and strengthening each axles mounting bracket. I was in no hurry to get my trailer back and they still turned it around in a day. Best part is they were very, very, very reasonanle. I can't say enough good things about my experience, they have a perfect shop with everything you could ever need on hand ready to go. They are extremely knowledgeable and very high quality. Our concession trailer was involved in an accident and totally disabled our Axles. Disabled to say the least, they were destroyed! (broke our hearts) We were towed to Straight Line and immediately Marc and Mike investigated the damage and came up with a plan to get us back on the road and make sure our axles were the strongest and best fit for our needs. They went above and beyond to do this for us. Their skills and knowledge are probably the best I have seen. They educated us on making the right choices for our trailer, they and their team spent time and effort on actually building a new subframe for our trailer and fitting it with the best axles. I took my RV in to Straightline Suspension to get a suspension overhaul. Not only were they 15% less expensive than other quotes but when I picked up the motor home, they stuck to the quote and didn't charge me a penny more (not my experience working with auto shops of any kind). It's been 2 months and 2,000 miles since Mike and Mark upgraded my suspension. I have a 32' gas motorhome on the Ford F-53 chassis. It rode exactly like the delivery truck the chassis was built for. After doing research, I decided to upgrade the shocks to Koni all around and Sumo springs as well. Mike talked me out of spending the extra approximately$1,200 for the front and convinced me that I only needed the rears. When was the last time YOU had a repair shop do that?!?! Well, after driving up to Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley, Zion, Bryce and back to Tucson over a variety of roads, elevations and wind conditions.... It's time to give Straight Line their due. My motorhome's ride will never be mistaken for a Cadillac but it's 100% better. No more white knuckle days with gusting winds or 5 and 6% downhill grades. As a bonus, they referred me to Redburn Tire where I got 6 new tires and about 30 minutes of tire maintenance instructions that was extremely helpful. Even with a very minor part number snafu (not their fault) they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortably accommodated. We were traveling through southern Arizona when the leaf springs failed for the third time, so we spent a few extra days researching ways to eliminate the problem. We decided to go with heavier springs and to install air bags. Then we went looking for a reputable suspension supplier and found Straight Line Suspension. Marc Knutson took our call and knew what we really needed. He seriously upgraded the leaf springs as well as he had a better suggestion instead of air bags he recommended a different type of support. We picked up a used 5th wheel from a private owner up in Oregon this summer. He had never towed it, so didn't realize it had some serious suspension issues. On the 400 mile trip back to NE Washington we wore the treads off both rear axle tires, on the insides only. I took the trailer to a shop in Spokane who said they could do the job, but that didn't happen. (a whole other story!) Suffice it to say that after about ten days and nearly $2400, nothing had improved at all. I put a couple cheap tires on for the trip back home, and by the time we got here I had already stopped to have one of them reversed on the rim, to keep from getting into the cord. When we got to Mesa I asked Marc (recommended by another RV repair shop) to take a look and tell me what he thought. He did, and found that the "new" springs and axles weren't up to the job, underrated for the weight of my camper. (not heavy at all, only 8400# gross) Marc agreed to take it in and make it right, which he did. I ended up paying Straight Line just a few dollars over half of what the Spokane shop charged me for basically doing nothing. The crew at Straight Line gave me four new springs (rated for the job, with an additional leaf and stouter), and replaced the plastic bushings they took out (even after I paid for the bronze bushings at the other place) with bronze bushings. Due to my time constraints and non-availability issues for new axles (again!) Mark had my axles sleeved their full length, to carry the weight without bending. So now I effectively have four new springs, two new axles, bronze bushings in the spring eyes, and a complete alignment. And....... they only had my camper part of the first day, one full day, and had it ready early afternoon on the third day. These guys get with the program! To date I have no tire wear, no undue bouncing down the road with weak springs, and as a bonus, the trailer now goes in the direction I point it when backing. (a sure sign of correct alignment) Am I happy with Straight Line Suspension? Yep, sure am. Would I recommend them to you? Yep, sure would. Mike, Marc, and the entire crew are honest, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Bottom line for me is that Straight Line will get all my suspension/alignment business in the future.
