If I could give the restaurant zero stars, I would. Not so much for the food, this review is strictly for the way they run their business. My family was looking for a place to host a dinner for a special event. We went to the restaurant and spoke to Renee about making the reservation. When we were booking, she said a deposit was not necessary, but we put a deposit down so they feel better about our reservation. We were told that if we need to cancel the reservation, deposit would be refunded. A week later, we did decide to cancel the reservation. When we return with the original receipt for the deposit back, the girl standing at the front who claimed she is the "manager" said she can only refund the deposit in the form of a gift certificate, which was not mentioned at all during the reservation. When I refused the gift certificate and requested for the original form of payment back, she said it was "store policy" to refund in gift certificate, which was again was definitely NOT what thy said originally. When I asked for the owner of the restaurant, he was conveniently not available. The "store policy" was not stated anywhere in the restaurant, on the receipt, or anywhere on their brochure. They seemed very accommodating when you first make a reservation, but as soon as they have your money, they will make up any lies on the spot to keep your money. This is not a place I would ever give my business to. Again, I don't know how the food is, and even if it is good, I wouldn't recommend this place at all to anyone. read more

I was here recently and I was very disappointed. I had seen it advertised in a couple places and I looked at their website. From the looks of the website it was better than the run on the mill Chinese buffet. Better selection, better food just better over all. But it was not. I went for lunch on a weekday so it was not that busy and we got a seat right away. When I went up to the buffet, the selection was not what I expected. It was run of the mill buffet offerings if not worse than most. There was some seafood dishes but their quality looked questionable so I did not try many of them. Their sushi bar is pretty legit. Certainly, it is not made by a Japanese chef, but taste-wise, it is very good. The rest of their food is average quality for a buffet. Their desserts are nothing special, but everything is generally tasty and the restaurant is clean. Service is pretty decent too although hostesses are quite rude. Overall, pretty good for a Chinese buffet restaurant. I heard there were roaches here and I was always slightly sick after eating here. Ummm. Just don't believe the pictures that make it seem like this place is big. It's not. There are only like 3 sections of food and they aren't even that well stocked. I took my mother to their "brunch" on 06/09/2018. Yes, this is an Asian buffet (unfortunately, those are the only types of buffets in this part of the U.S), but that does not mean they can't have a grasp of how a buffet should be and what "brunch" means. I went here as part of a professional meeting. I wasn't too impressed. Let's just say I've gone to worse buffets before. It is reasonably priced and they seem to have the right idea for selection, they just don't do a good job replenishing the buffet. The clams and oysters on a half shell look as though they may have been there for several hours. Regarding the crab legs, it's hard to find. i think the best part about this place is that it's CHEAP. i am definitely willing to lower my standards to be fed with a great variety for my $13 bucks (dinner price). especially, if you're in the mood to eat salmon and mayb.. nothing but salmon rolls? this is your spot! my favorite dish so far.. is probably the salt and pepper jumbo shrimp. it tastes just like what you would get at a restaurant in Chinatown. pretty solid. other dishes are fair too. what i've noticed is that they will never display an opulent amount of one thing (especially in the fried category) the only reason i can think of is that so the food doesn't become all dried up which works for me. just don't expect 5 stars quality and i think you'll survive. ps. watch out for the ice cream machine, the vanilla tastes like frozen whip cream o-O.... read more

The worst experience I've ever had ! I took my teenage daughter on 12/31 and there were plenty of empty tables , however they were rude, ignorant and entirely too Anxious to get you to leave . This location monitors the crab legs and then tells you it is a 10 minute wait for fresh ones which are served lukewarm. They put out fresh ones enough for a serving for one person. I asked to speak to the manager and the hostess said he was busy. She asked what I wanted and I said to speak to the manager. Then she said she was the manager so I told her never mind. When she was told that we pay in a bit she then got 2 male employees to "man" our table. It was very noticeable that the families around us were not being treated in this disrespectful manner. I go here a lot. The price is good and the food is usually fresh depending on what time you go and the traffic with other customers inside. The best time to go, in my opinion, is closer or a little after noon. I do wish some of the ribs had less fatty pieces but other than that no complaints. But the way the hostess address her was extremely rude and horrible. She crudely chastised her in front of her children and grandchildren. Mom has dementia and repeats thing over and over, she also forgets. Mom was almost in tears. I politely went up to the hostess letting her know she didn't have to speak to her that way. She could care less and wanted to accuse mom of stealing. We spend over $200. Not to mention the years of patronage. How much is 6 cookie that you must humiliate a senior citizen? Typical Chinese buffet with the normal selections but the taste is better compare to the ones around the area. Food is always served warm and/or hot. Sushi selections are limited but fresh and changes just about daily so it's not the same old same old. Place is kept clean and spacious. Services is friendly and quick. In the location they have a crazy amount of competition so the negative changes are an issue. The sushi has gone downhill. Not that it isn't well put together but the fish content has diminished, all rice, sauced up, and the little fish bits of "sashimi" are... sad. I struggled with whether I would leave this review or not because I don't think they suck, and there are ups, but I think they can do better because of what they do have going. The prawn broth is lovely and aromatic, going to miss that. Very juicy fried chicken wings and damn the soft serve is stupid good. First let me say there must be systemic problem in area for crab legs at these buffet. We have seen two go out of business (moorestown & marlton). The new buffet in Delran serves cold crab legs and we know that's tactic (like over-salting) to discourage consumption. Now to my review of Ruby Buffet. The food is acceptable. I was pleasantly surprised by their salad bar & sushi bar. The sushi was minimal in selection, but solid in freshness & presentation. The sushi chefs were nice and attentive with the bar. The items you'll find here are varying and equally interesting. You have the typical fried variety, but then you have the authentic-and-actually-edible variety. The selections are kind of scattered around instead of being in their designated groups, but over 70% of them are actually really well made, which is a nice ratio for a buffet. Interior was nice and Las Vegas-like. Service was good enough. The bathroom floors are dangerously slippery with water drippings. Lots of dessert options scattered around the buffet, from steamed dumplings to hot tapioca soup. I've tried the soup, too...not bad. Solid faves of mine are as follows: *the crab legs (of course), when you can get them before the greedy fat lurkers do *hot and sour soup. One of the best I've tried! *crab cakes. They are surprisingly mild. *chocolate mousse. The coffee syrup in it reminded me of tiramisu, or oddly enough, the petit fours you get in 1st class lounges. Tips on what to avoid: *peking duck. Dry, odd texture. *pork dumplings. These were dry due to being open-faced (wth?) *choux pasty. These were dry, too. There's that word again. Overall, a decent buffet for what you pay for. I'll have to agree with the vast consensus here, it's ok. Take into consideration that its 13.90 with tax, making it pretty hard to argue with decent food. I have slightly surprised by the quality of the sushi. While, again not blow your socks off fantastic fish, the rice was decent quality, taste and texture and the fish appeared to be fresh with no strange, obscure taste. Is it sub-par buffet? Not at all. Should you expect that? Neit. Of many buffets around, its clearly the best. Only second to the Indian buffet in the Woodcrest shopping center, but I can compare apples to oranges. If you're looking for something relatively cheap, then this should be a consideration. Just know that you wont be blown away by the food, nor will you leave feeling totally dissatisfied. read more

I was rather disappointed with this buffet. I'm not a sushi eater, so I can't speak about that, but the only meat available was some Prime Rib which was pretty awful. Their website advertises sirloin steak and some others, but they weren't availble on the Friday night that we visited. My wife wanted to come for the crab legs, and while the crab itself was fine, the butter had a very odd taste to it that turned her off. The pizza crust was very doughy. And the ice cream had a rather chaulky taste that wasn't good. Most of the shrimp options were good, but that was about it. read more

There is a 10% coupon when you go online to their site. With the coupon, the dinner buffet ended up costing $27.14, not including the 4 dollar tip. I was not satisfied on their selection and the cleanliness of the buffet. The last time I went here was probably sometime back in 2013, but is one of the few remaining buffets in the area. I walked over to pick up a plate near the salad bar, but saw that my fingers touched a mushy surprise underneath with some kind old food residue underneath. My appetite was ruined and was shocked to see that the plates were not washed correctly. While I was still at the salad bar, I saw a short black hair in the seafood salad. I would be careful and take a second look when choosing and selecting what dishes to take from. I was disappointed to see that there is no hibachi station at this restaurant. I would avoid the raw sushi, as it looked like it has been sitting out all day with the avocado already oxidized and brown in the California rolls. The only good thing about this buffet is the hot snow crab legs, and that is only if you are able to get some. I would not come here again and look for another buffet to go to. read more

I am only giving 1 star because I have to if I could I would give ZERO. This place is very nasty, the food and I mean all the food was very very old and they were still serving it to customers. I had to go up to the front desk and tell them SEVERAL times that the food was very old and spoiled and then at that point they would come out and put new food out but placing the OLD food on top!! They didn't have enough serving spoons out so people were grabbing food with other serving spoons and I'm HIGHLY allergic to sea food and people were grabbing a spoon that was for sea food and using it for the rice because the rice didn't have a spoon. And the employees watched them and did nothing! The sushi was literally BROWN and all mushed together! The steak was ice cold, not warm, not hot, COLD!! The level of ignorance the staff has is unbelievable. Oh and the table they sat us at was dripping from the ceiling into my families food and hair and when we mentioned it to them they said they are aware but no one came to fix it yet, SO WHY WOULD YOU SIT US THERE?!?! It was very very nasty! I could go on and on about this place!! Bottom line is PLEASE DONT EAT THERE for your own good and health!! i was really surprised at how great this place is. hubby has been wanting to try it, but we usually end up at red robin or maggiano's if we are over in that area... the restaurant itself is really nice, and looked to be immaculately clean. they have the best string beans. lol i know that sounds weird, but that's my number one go to at an asian buffet. they are slightly different than most buffets, they have a sauce on them rather than just oil and garlic, but i enjoyed them. the rice noodles were excellent, i'm always happy to see rice noodles as an option on a buffet bc they are so much less greasy than regular lo mein. fried dumplings were extremely flavorful and actually crispy. black pepper chicken and shrimp was VERY good, even hubby ate the shrimp and he isn't a fan of shrimp most of the time.... the sushi was quality sushi, maybe a little on the basic side, but it was delicious and fresh. i would go for the sushi alone. they even had a veitnamese style grilled pork chop that was REALLY delicious. I didn't try the dim sum, but i think i might next time after seeing some reviews for it here.... we'll definitely be back! read more
