Solid Chinese food. I have been on the hunt for good Chinese food near my work and today I found the one. I grabbed a variety of entrees and was pleasantly surprised. General Tso, Curry Chicken and boneless spare ribs. The general chicken was tender and breaded just right. I like my sauce a bit more spicy, so I may ask for that next time. The curry chicken was one of the better ones I have had. The sauce was not watery with nice variety of veggies. My boneless spare ribs where meaty and not fatty at all. I thought it was a nice option that the chicken entrees could be made with chicken wings. General Tso chicken sounds delightful. Maybe next time. read more

We are new to the area and decided to give King Wong a try. This was a big mistake! The food is the worst I ever had. We will not ever order from there again. The fried wontons were over cooked and had absolutely no meat in it. Everything we ordered was tasteless and greasy. Food here is sooooooo good and full of flavor! My husband and I really enjoy order from here. The woman at the front is very friendly and sweet. Food is always hot, prepared so quickly, portions are large and prices are great. This restaurant is solely for takeout even though there's one table at the entry way. I don't know what happened to this place. When I first moved near the area this was the best Chinese food spot around. Healthy cooking clean delicious food. But now, dear lord I just ordered literally just today about 15 minutes ago and I beyond flabbergasted and shocked I ordered fries with chicken wings and I could literally count the fries... and did the chickens shrink?? tiny small wings dry old looking and the chips for the wonton soup I ordered two large soups and got half the bag of the crunchy chips you add on top of the soup half the bag for two large soups. I don't know if the owner sold it to someone else or the quality has gone down the drain in order to cut corners but this isn't the king wong I've come to love and support. They seemed to change owners and that has resulted in the way they are changing the menu and prices. Their large quart of wonton egg drop soup now ONLY come with 4 wontons, they were coming with 6 before they changed ownership. Portion sizes have gotten smaller. Their spare ribs are now lacking the flavor of previous the old owners. Boneless ribs are no longer grilled, the are fried and covered in a sauce. Too many other Chinese restaurants around to spend money here for what I would call mediocre food. It is REALLY a shame as they were at one time the best. read more

I needed some crowd-pleasing Chinese takeout, suitable for a wide range of tastes. Found King Wong via Yelp and it was PERFECT. Just what I needed to please a large group of ten picky eaters without breaking the budget. This is not gourmet regional cuisine. This is American-style Chinese -- a big menu with simple preparations using American ingredients. Nothing too spicy. Nothing too unusual. Brown sauce, white sauce, garlic sauce, fried rice, noodles, some deep fried offerings, you know the drill. If you're looking for gai lan, wood ear mushrooms, or taro root, you've likely come to the wrong place. But that's not a criticism. There are plenty of bad versions of this kind of food. King Wong delivered fresh quality ingredients including truly jumbo shrimp, generous portions, and a very nice willingness to customize any dish (I was ordering for people who variously didn't want garlic, or onions, or mushrooms, or soy, or spicy... King Wong accommodated everybody and did so with a smile). The food was a little bland, but that's a lot better than being a salt bomb, or being greasy. The often dull Young Chow Fried Rice and Chicken with Broccoli were surprise highlights, as were the Chow Ho Fun noodles and the aforementioned jumbo shrimp. The only real disappointment was the steamed dumplings, which were a bit doughy and lacking in flavor. But everything was a good value. Literally breaks my heart... this was my go to Chinese restaurant for as long as I've lived in Cherry Hill. They've never done delivery but regardless it's the only place I would get Chinese from because it was always 1000% worth my not wanting to get in the car and go pick it up... that is until my last visit there... when I called it raised a slight flag but no biggie but when I went in My suspicions raised higher, no one looked familiar and the decor was different... I thought it was more costly too but I chalked it up to it being a few months since I ordered. When I got home it was totally solidified they changed owners... the food is not the same. The food wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. It was such a disappointment even my fiancé noticed immediately and said is this the place we always order from? First time trying and won't go back. Ordered the beef with string beans combo, it smelled like canned dog food to me and couldn't get past the smell. Another ordered human chicken it was rubbery and another ordered walnut shrimp but was missing sauce so basically just doughy shrimp. So no I can not recommend king Wong. read more

I've had Chinese food from all over South Jersey, an area that seems to have above average Chinese food. One would think that I'd be a bit jaded by now but King Wong found a way to impress me again! So far, no other place I've tried makes General Tso's Chicken like they do. Despite being covered fully in sauce, the breading remained crisp. The chicken was exactly the right firmness. Even the fried rice was good. I never would've guessed that such a great dish would come from an unpretentious Chinese takeout in a nondescript strip mall in the middle of a vast suburban sprawl. read more

This is my favorite Chinese take out spot. As a teenager I worked next door and their lunch specials are hard to beat. My go to is the beef and broccoli with pork fried rice. The beef is juicy tender and covered in a thick brown sauce. The broccoli and carrots (what a nice touch) are crisp and fresh. The pork fried rice comes with plenty of veggies and is perfectly firm. They had a handful of tables that are ALWAYS clean. Most people take out, do yourself a favor and call in your order and try the beef and broccoli. read more

My favorite Chinese takeout restaurant, is closed at this time. My daughter wanted chinese food, my grandson wants pizza. So in the same stripmall there's Pizza Hut and King Wong, perfect! First time ordering from King Wong, and it won't be the last time. I ordered the curry shrimp and roast pork fried rice. Delicious, rice was very good. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Located in a nondescript shopping center down the road from the mall, this unassuming takeout restaurant served up some of the best Chinese food I've had in the area. My General Tso's Tofu, the standard by which I judge a Chinese place, was cooked perfectly, with a really nice "skin" on the tofu and a hearty dose of spiciness. Prices are reasonable and the guy working the counter was very friendly, even taking the time to ask if it was OK to use eggs in our food (after we requested some vegetable-only dishes). My girlfriend and I only stopped here because the Chinese place we usually order from was closed, but I think we'll be making this our usual Chinese takeout spot in the future. Ok. So I went to this place yesterday after not being here for over 2 or 3 years. This used to be some of the better food around. Although the food wasn't bad. It definitely has gone down in quality. I had the general Tso chicken ,steamed chicken and broccoli with brown sauce and boneless ribs. All were not terrible but lacking something. By the time I got home which was about 20 min away the General TSO was all clumped together. Too much MsG in there ! So not really a sauce just clumps of chicken. The steamed chicken wasn't bad but there was so much broccoli and hardly any chicken And the sauce was disappointing. This sauce use to be very good years ago very garlicky and nice flavor. Yesterday was like hoisen sauce with oyster sauce and very thick. Just wasn't good tasting. As for the boneless ribs The first order was good , the 2nd order was very chewy and tough. So I don't know what's going on in this place but I won't make a special trip here. If I'm in the area maybe I'll stop in. But what was more bizarre was I was there more than 30 min because I placed 1 order first to Taste it ( boneless ribs) before actually placing my to go order, and not 1 customer came in there ???? Her attitude is always bad, she doesn't smile and gets real nasty on the phone when you call in an order. I decided to give them another chance and I found a bug in my platter during my next visit.
