Average food, BELOW AVERAGE server, but they still have a pretty great salad bar. This location in Rapid City, SD, is a prime example of why RUBY TUESDAY as a chain has closed so many restaurants over the last decade or so. Understaffed, in need of refurbishment and upgraded carpeting and furniture and when staff is present, they spend too much time chatting with each other, keeping their faces glued to their phones and inattentive to customer needs. On the night I ate at this location, I arrived at approximately 8 PM and the restaurant and bar areas were DEAD! While I was seated quickly by the hostess, it took a while for my server to arrive at my table to take my order. I added the salad bar to my meal and asked the server to wait till I'd finished my salad BEFORE bringing out my entree. She did not. After I ate my entree, I had to hunt my server down to get my check, This last part was annoying and I decided to not leave my usual 20% tip and instead, left 15%. I may or may not eat this RUBY TUESDAY location again when I am next in Rapid City. It's OK if nothing else is open, but it won't be anywhere near my first choice. read more

If you only want a salad bar, good place. We ordered the steak and rib combo, ribs had to be gnawed off the bone and the steak looked boiled and was tough and flavorless . We also had the chicken parm, chicken was tough and way over cooked and there was no sauce to be seen. The service we received was spotty at best. The hostess was either not happy to be there or wasn't happy we where there. We've only been through Rapid City a few times but there has to be something better for the price, next time will pass on this restaurant. read more

Simple American fare tastes good and prepared well. Typical sports bar type furnishings with adequate spacing between tables. Service was less than expected. Waitress Charish seemed angry about our repeated requests and attempts to navigate the corporate promotions. Clearly wasn't a positive exchange between service personnel and the customers. read more

We visited this establishment on a Monday evening but not during dinner rush so there were very few people dining. We ordered hickory chicken and mashed potatoes. It took 40+ minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was obvious it had sat in the window too long. The mash was cold and the chicken was lukewarm (but fully cooked), extremely spicy, which made it inedible. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to refill our drinks of ice tea and water. Salad bar was good but not worth the bad service and experience. When we brought our concerns to management they made excuses for their staff and did not make things right. Rapid City is known for many good places to eat. Try one of those instead. read more

Where im from Rubys are all extinct so when i was looking for lunch driving through SD i slammed the brakes when i saw an open Rubys! Haha. I loved their salad bar so i had to pop in to see how it was. I got chicken tenders and fries for 15$ then added on the salad bar for $6. The salad bar couldve been better as the cucumbers were a literally soggy pile of mush. I almost mentioned them to the gm/manager as we randomly talked about wrestling but i bit my tongue. Honestly cukes are my favorite part of the salad bar but i just skipped them. The broccoli slaw Rubys still makes was subpar as well. The broccoli had pieces that looked overripe and borderline mushy mixed in with acceptable florets. Overall the salad bar was a 3.5/5 and slightly disappointing. My bartender kept the cola coming and was personable. The chicken tenders were delish and the fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned. I would definitely revisit but if those cukes and broccoli slaw arent improved i might have to mention them. They should be enbarrassed to serve see through liquidy cucumbers in their salad bar. read more

In from out of town and I was excited to see a Ruby Tuesday. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I ordered pick up for a specific time, arrived at that time but still had to wait 10 minutes. I can live with that but the food was the big disappointment. The "loaded tots were a joke with almost no cheese on them and what was there was not melted. The chicken sandwich was average at best. Really happy we stopped for lunch. Our server Chris was excellent. He was courteous, knowledgeable of the menu, he checked on us throughout the meal. My husband and I split the Chicken Parmesan & Coconut Shrimp (we both had small appetites) Chris recommended it and it was delicious. He also offered a couple other options to make sure we would be full & satisfied. We were!! Even though they were packed the food came out quickly. The restaurant itself is clean and tidy. All the workers smiled and acknowledged us as we walked past them. After a great day at reptile gardens and bear country I decided to eat here because of convenience. I have my reasons for giving such a poor score. 1. Pricing. Wow! Your salad bar has to be an extra add on to be unlimited. It does not come as an option with any of your entrees. Absolutely bizarre. For the price of the food on your menu I expected way more food. Instead they got served on cramped small plates to make it look like a lot. The sides also have to be an extra add on. 2. My appetizer came out cold. Ew. Took our initial order, brought us drinks and left. 4. Your average old family restaurant, not a long wait. It was quiet and a nice place to enjoy a meal with your loved ones. Service was great in that it was prompt and quick. Waitress was also very nice and accommodating. Food was mediocre, nothing too amazing. We had the loaded fries for appetizer and ultimate chicken sandwich the sandwich could have used more sauce. My wife and I dined at Ruby Tuesdays in Rapid City. one of my favorite things is RT's salad bar...it never disappoints (LOVE their baked potato salad)...and it was right next door to out motel, so we decided to eat there for the night. While other visits to RT's have been enjoyable, I have to say our experience tonight (Tuesday) was somewhat disappointing. (This review includes both good and bad...read on). We started out with cocktails from the bar. My wife's choice was a featured menu margarita....which she said was very good. My choice was a Crown sour...which I am sure was mostly sour...and little else. (way to sour for me...bit I did get it down). Supper consisted of my wife's salmon scampi...which she said was vert good, albeit a little on the salty side. I was not quite so lucky. I ordered the triple play (ribs,shrimp, and chicken strips). On a positive note, the shrimp was very good (great cocktail sauce). Now for the bad...the menu clearly says baby back ribs...I was served St Louis style spareribs (of which I am not a huge fan of...but I will eat them). These ribs were very tough and quite dry. (Ribs should fall off the bone when done correctly). Lastly the chicken...fried a little too long as they were extremely dark...and very tasteless. I managed to eat there for the shrimp, one chicken strip and 2 bones of a half rack of ribs. I am not one to send food back and I usually will eat most anything...tonight I couldn't. I relayed my thoughts to our waitress (not really looking for a free meal or anything...I just thought management should know.) We did get a small reduction in out bill, which was fine. Staff here was very polite and understanding. (Yes we left a tip). However we have lately had other sub-par meals at RT's in other locations around the area. Went to a lunch salad bar while in Rapid City and we were somewhat disappointed. I was all set to graze on the known favorite salad bar when I saw that the Spring salad was wilted and not good. Today I received an email from Ruby Tuesday with a Flash Sale on wings between 4 and 7 today. When I tried to order them on the site it said the location was closed. So I called the location and asked if they were open. They said they were. I explained the problem with the website and they said they would take the order over the phone. I was transferred and asked the person who answered if they were aware of the Flash Sale on wings. They said they weren't but they would honor the deal. I gave them the code but they couldn't confirm the price. So I said that was disappointing and hung up. I then reached out to corporate on their contact page expressing my frustration. 10 minutes after posting I was contacted by the local restaurant and told they were sorry for the mixup and as an apology they said they would not only honor the Flash Sale, they would comp the entire order. We came in at 1:40 pm and were seated at 2 pm which was fine. Our server Jefferson was courteous. Drinks came after 5 minutes and food came after 35 minutes. Jefferson came by after 15 minutes of waiting for our food to let us know our food was coming soon. After 25 minutes another server came to say our food was next. I guess the service was slow because moat of the servers were cleaning up after the buffet. We were seated immediately even though there is a shortage of service industry personnel. Our server, who had lived in COS, was a delight. He took great care of us and made our meal special with his engaging and warm personality. The salad bar was amazing with pumpernickel croutons and garlic flat bread as an unexpected bonus. We appreciated the gloves to serve ourselves keeping contact minimal. Salmon was cooked to perfection, grilled zucchini was our favorite side. Our compliments to the hard working front and back of the house making it look effortless when we know you are working tirelessly to care for visitors. Ruby Tuesdays has really gone down hill. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants but this Ruby Tuesday was the worst i have been to. The waitress couldn't stop talking to the men at the bar for 2 minutes to refill me and my husbands drinks, also it took about 15 minutes for us to get the check making eye contact with the manager and him just ignoring us. Little things like that are what cause people to not give tips. Pay attention to all your customers not just the ones you think are cute. Tips are earned in my opinion and she definitely didn't earn one. read more
