We were not sure what to get and we only wanted something to share so we asked about two items and ended up splitting the Fish and Chips $20. We got three pieces, French fries and coleslaw. The chips were good but the slaw needed a little sugar for my taste buds. French fires good. It was just before 2 and the place was still full. I would recommend coming here. First of all the food is terrible. These onion was swimming in grease which caused instant stomach problems. I ordered salad. My daughter ordered shrimp and rice with broccoli and the only thing edible on her plate was the broccoli. I did not touch the salad. It looked that bad. I took the meat home to the dog. The shrimp on my daughters plate was so dry. It had to have been sitting out for a while before we got it. Only five tables of the restaurant were in use while we were there. So there was no reason for us to wait for an hour to get our food. With other steakhouses available in the Rapid City area, I won't be wasting my money again at outback steakhouse again. 6 of us on vacation decided to have a late dinner near our hotel and with the Outback Steakhouse being close, we chose to come here as we're familiar with the chain. As it was a late dinner some decided to share meals, and we got two steak meals, a chicken meal and salads. We all enjoyed our meals, salads and side dishes that including baked potatoes Amber, our server was very good and friendly. She checked in on us after bringing us our food to make sure all was good and took our plates off the table before we left so we had a bit more room. As we have a couple people in our group who don't like beef, we were glad the chicken was good. We saw this had a overall basic middle of the road review, but all enjoyed our food choices. read more

Quick service for appetizer, drinks and taking the order. But then others beside the waiter brought the food so we had to sort out who gets what for them. Did not see the waiter for a LONG time. Table did not get cleared of used dishes, still had appetizer plates on the table right up to the very end. Only offer to refill was for the water, not for soda or drinks. Long wait for the birthday desserts, came partially melted. Got the checks but then no one came back in a reasonable time to cash us out, we ended up going up to the front to pay our checks. Women's bathroom was too small for a power wheelchair, I would say not fully ADA compliant, suggest you check it out when you first come in. Today (August 22, 2025) went to outback, I have no idea how many time in the last 3 years we have gone. I always order the outback old fashioned, tonight was the absolute WORST they have ever made. Over the top sweet, I could have put it over pancakes. My meal was the Kingsland steak and shrimp I ordered it medium it was raw no not undercooked RAW, I sent it back and it was still mostly over cooked and they put more sauce on it and it wasn't even warmer. I took my 2 grandkids, my wife and daughter the bill $186. I took 95% of my dish home, why i won't even eat it. Of ALL the times I have been there, this was the WORST. I hope they see this at Rapid City, SD outback and realize their "bartender" tonight SUCKED, serve beer maybe but dont allow them to make mixed drinks especially at signature named drink suck as the outback old fashioned. Sorry Rapid City giving you another not so great review ! Outback Steakhouse has gone DOWN Hill . Waiter seemed attentive at first and was able to get our drinks and water in a timely fashion. Ordered the 20 piece wings and a blooming onion as it's been a couple years since eating here . Wings used to be all drums and flavorful with an amazing dry rub . There were maybe 4 drums and the rest were flats !! Greasy and zero flavor. Blooming onion was greasy and flavorless as well. Our waiter was on top of the table with the two females asking if they were veterans trying to give a discount and trying giving extra bread loafs . (They were not vets) We didn't get the same question before Check about being a veteran and I wouldn't have second thought but since I overheard previous interaction. After a long day of driving, I ordered online for pickup. First, the online stated would be ready in 20 mins, and unfortunately, It was more like 50 (I ended up going to the bar for a glass of wine while waiting). Second, my steak was severely undercooked. I ordered medium (little pink in the middle) and, as you can see, my steak appears to still be bleeding and was cold. My friend and I went for my Birthday last Sunday. The waitress was new and not very well trained, but she was doing her best. The food was not bad and was cooked as we ordered. When the waitress asked if we were ready for our bill we said yes and we have a $50 gift card and a coupon for a free blooming onion. I gave her the discount cards and she returned with our bill- the discounts $77.54 and then - the $50 gift card our remaining balance was $27.54. My friend gave her a $100.00 bill and she returned with $13 in change!? My friend had enjoyed a few birthday drinks didn't realize how much she had been shorted until the next day. So I took the receipt back to the restaurant and ask to speak with the manager. A young man came out, and I explained to him what had happened, and he said well I'm looking at the receipt and I don't even see where you had eight $50 gift card and I said look at the bottom of the receipt and you will see it, he said oh I see it now, but this is not how we usually print out receipts. I said OK well that explains that the new waitress. Obviously didn't understand it either so we were charged more than we owed. My friend gave her $100 bill and only received $13. Our final bill was $27.54 So we were obviously overcharged, and even if our bill was the full amount of $77.54 we would have still been overcharged. He said there is absolutely no way that I can prove that you gave us $100 bill, I said you should have paperwork for every transaction. She took the hundred dollar bill and returned to the table. With $13 change so there should be a receipt that shows how that was calculated . then said, do you expect me to just believe you I cannot just go to the till and give money to anybody that comes off the street and says that they're overcharged. I said, are you calling me a liar he said well I do not have the authority to be able to do anything with this. I am only the assistant manager. So I said I am not just anyone off the street and I am bringing you in a receipt showing you and explaining to you that I was overcharged there is paperwork that would show the transaction. He said well you will need to come back and talk with the manager so that is fine. When can I speak with the manager and he replied well I'm not sure but maybe your best bet would be to try back on Friday! He was very rude, very unprofessional, and obviously not very well trained in public relations. I will try back on Friday and see what the manager can do with this unfortunate situation. ! read more

Our waiter deserves 5 stars! Anton was amazing and his presentation of all of the drinks and practically the entire menu was applause-worthy! Boy #1 loved his sirloin, and Hubs and I loved the fish tacos and chicken tacos so much we didn't get a picture before we started eating! The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars for this experience is because they confused our taco orders. I didn't want pico on my chicken and the hubs wanted it on his fish. I came to the table opposite of that, with pico on my chicken and no pico on his. We switched the fish and chicken and enjoyed it immensely. My friend and I were passing through town in a U-Haul and we were pleased to find Outback Steakhouse! She had the Wednesday special 6-oz sirloin for 10.99 and it was juicy and cooked to perfection. I had the chopped sirloin with mushrooms and onions on top for 11.49. Mine was undercooked a bit but Alex, our excellent server, quickly made it right! The wedge salad was a generous portion with lots of yummy blue cheese and the mashed potatoes, comforting! Alex was cheerful and caring, making great suggestions and checking on us often. This was by far one of the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. I came right in the middle of the dinner rush during the middle of a week and was quickly seated. Even though the kitchen was slightly backed up, our server was very attentive to the status of the delays. What made our server stand out from all my other servers, we sat in a booth, he always knelt down to our eye level rather. To me, this makes the experience more personable. The manager (?) was out greeting guests and checking up on our satisfaction. Nothing on the restaurant, but I wanted mine cooked a little bit more. My request was quickly addressed and I was more than happy with the outcome. Both the manager and the server were very welcoming and warm. Unfortunately I was only passing through, from out of town.
