Korean wings
Sydney C.

This is our second time coming here - our first experience was on a weekday at an off time (like 2pm) so I think the service and food were a little subpar then. We decided to give it a second try and we are glad we did. The service was great - our waitress was very attentive and great. This place has a pretty nice sized dining room with a second bar area. They have some daily specials - kids eat free on Monday's. Wednesday is half priced bottle of wine! The Korean wings flavor is Ah-mazing. You HAVE to get them!

Wine Cellar Restaurant - Medjool dates filled with blue cheese $10, good but pricey

Very polite staff, owners on site. Great wine selection, 4…read moreseat bar as well as tables inside and outside. Small, quaint, romantic restaurant with high(er) end food. They do need to update the online menu. Filet listed online for $40.75 was $55. Date listed $6.75 were $10. Filet Mignon w/veal Demi glaze was awesome, you could cut it with a butter knife. I didn't like the small potato bites. Should have mashed potatoes $55 Bison ravioli was good (not made in house) but the sauce was on the salty side. Medjool dates filled with blue cheese were great $10. $10 is too expensive for these though. Overall a great place for a relaxing dinner. Or just have wine and appetizers.

Apparently, they don't serve actual wedges because it causes too much waste. The owner agreed they need to change the name of the salad. My beet salad was tasty. Now after waiting 50 minutes with only one other couple in the restaurant, our entrees were served. They should have some games to play at the table for the long wait times. We were actually planning to order dessert but ran out of time. My salmon was cooked very well and tasted fresh. My husband's vegetable lasagna was saved by the mushroom gravy otherwise it lacked flavor.

Absolutely outstanding dining experience!…read more We tried a variety of small plates, and every dish had such incredible depth of flavor. I was especially impressed by the celery root being used as a focal point--it was unexpectedly delicious and beautifully executed. The pork belly literally melted in my mouth, and the sauce was perfection, even for someone who isn't usually a fan of bleu cheese. As someone who is gluten-free, I felt completely included. The crudités were so thoughtfully prepared that I didn't miss out on anything--although the aroma of the naan at the door definitely caught my attention in the best way! Our server, Drew, was fantastic--attentive without ever being intrusive. He understood gluten-free needs on a personal level (as a fellow celiac!), which made the experience feel extra comfortable and cared for. The drinks were beautifully paired with the eclectic fusion influences throughout the menu. When a place claims French inspiration, I expect the sauces to shine--and wow, they did not disappoint. Every plate was balanced, creative, and just so good. You can't go wrong here. We'll definitely be back!

I can tell you it's now mine! It hit on all taste sensations. Salty, vinegary, hint of sweet too. The chicken gave me added protein and added an additional balance to the dish. The portion is generous and filling too. Get this. You won't be disappointed.

We started our evening at Sear Steakhouse with some excellent drinks. The thyme mocktail was crisp…read moreand refreshing, and my husband's old-fashioned was fragrant and well-balanced, complete with a perfect bada bing cherry. His only note was a preference for a single large ice cube rather than crushed, but overall the bar clearly knows what it's doing. The appetizers set a great tone. Warm sourdough was fresh and comforting. I enjoyed the bright, crisp house salad, while my husband's pumpkin soup was silky, savory, and perfectly seasonal. We both ordered the 7-ounce filet mignon, and the kitchen truly delivered! His medium-rare was tender and juicy with a beautiful sear, and my medium-well was still succulent--proof of precise cooking. They have an outstanding variety of cool, reasonably priced side dishes. My husband was excited about the Queen's honey carrots which were tender and flavorful (though the honey glaze was very subtle) and the creamy mashed potatoes that are part of the steak dish, were nicely executed. I didn't realize my filet came with mashed potatoes underneath, so I ordered a loaded, baked potato as my side, and ended up with extra potato (which I'm not complaining about whatsoever lol). We also enjoyed the whiskey cream sauce with mushrooms, which added a gentle smoky creamy richness, and the onion soubise, which was pure sweet comfort. Dessert was a highlight, as we celebrated my husband's birthday - we ordered all three featured desserts: The crème brûlée had a perfectly crackled top and smooth vanilla bean custard, the flourless chocolate dessert was deeply rich with espresso notes, and the butter cake was the total star - warm, moist, and decadently buttery. Each dessert was excellent in its own way, but that perfectly sinful butter cake stole the show! The atmosphere was inviting--warm wood tones, comfortable booths, well-balanced lighting, and enough TVs near the bar to keep my sports fan husband happy. Service was friendly and pleasant, though we found ourselves wishing for a bit more attentiveness. With a very quiet dining room, very early in the evening (we had a 4 PM reservation), there were moments when water refills lagged and opportunities for wine suggestions went unoffered (and we were definitely wanting to order some red with our steaks, but gave up because by the time there was an opportunity, we were finished with our steaks). We also briefly looked into the small private dining room on our way through the bar, and while we were greeted politely by one of the employees who was sitting in there, it felt like they missed the perfect opportunity to highlight the space for potential events. That said, nothing detracted significantly from the experience--it was simply a matter of polish. A touch more proactive engagement could elevate an already strong offering into something exceptional. Overall, Sear Steakhouse delivered an enjoyable and memorable evening. The food, drinks, and desserts are clearly strengths, and with just a little added focus on service flow and guest engagement, this restaurant has all the makings of a true standout in Rapid City. We look forward to returning and trying new things!

I'm really torn on this review because I've only been to Sear Steakhouse twice, and the experiences…read morewere completely different. The first visit was for a work event in the back room (not sure if that made a difference), and it was outstanding. The food was cooked to perfection--my steak literally melted in my mouth, and the sides were hot and delicious. I couldn't stop raving about it afterward. The second visit, after talking it up to my family, was a letdown. They were busy, and maybe that played a role, but it just wasn't the same. My steak was mediocre, and my husband was genuinely confused why I had claimed it was one of the best steaks I'd had in a long time. Unfortunately, when it comes to restaurants, the bad tends to outweigh the good. We haven't been back, and I can't justify the price tag when there are other great steak options in town. I know places can have off days, and maybe that's what happened--but I'm not willing to return to find out.
