The cheeseburger was perfect. Tots were crunchy too. Tried most of the items on the buffet & they were all good. No issues with any of the food. Their croutons are to die for since they were perfectly crunchy and chewy. Only thing missing was some chopped up eggs and spinach leaves. Our server (Julia) was real nice & on the ball for real. Well, the staff was good. Made sure we were taken care of. The $6 salad bar was worth the add on. I got the hickory bourbon chicken. The chicken breast was more like a half breast. It was flavorful, but that was all on my plate that gad any flavor. Husband got the catfish platter and was far from impressed. The only flavor it had was the Tabasco he added. He said it was easily the least flavored coleslaw he had ever eaten. Grandpa had fish and chips and said the same thing - and he doesn't even have an expansive pallet. Went here on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly. Inside wasn't bright so it felt cozy without being dark enough to cause issues. Menu were pretty varied. Be warned there aren't a ton if vegan or vegetarian options. We both had an impossible burger and fries. Our good came out pretty fast and tasted good. The fried mushrooms and tater tots contained milk per the allergen menu online so skipped those. Considered the new brussel sprouts, but they aren't on the allergen menu. I do like how the allergens menu online lets you toggle a good variety of dietary restrictions. They even have an endless salad bar that had a surprising amount of options. There were chickpeas, banana pepoers, beets, and other choices not normally offered at salad bars so that was nice. The endless salad bar was currently $12.99 as an entrée or $5.99 as an add on. One issue was that the salad dressings weren't really labeled. Most of the spoons had their labels rubbed off from use so could only read three so he didn't feel safe trying the dressings. We usually love to eat at Ruby Tuesday's, and since they closed the one in our town, it means we look for this restaurant when we travel. We visited between lunch and dinner. Restaurant was nearly empty. The salad bar looked very untidy and picked over. There seemed to be no one tending it. We were disappointed that the turkey burger was discontinued as it is THE favorite of one member of our party. Cole slaw was WARM, and the limp greens in it suggested that it had been unrefrigerated for some time. It tasted awful, and the person who ordered it spat it out. Fortunately, no food poisoning resulted (nauseous afterwards). Only 3 servers working as restaurant filled up. Everything, as a result, took time. We will never visit this location again, and since the turkey burger is gone, we'll be less likely to visit Ruby's in the future. read more

It's simply hit or miss with this location. Our Server was perfectly fine. The 8oz Sirloin I ordered was subpar. Cooked to order, but bland. The baked potato was most likely baked that morning, if not, the day before and put in a warmer. Had that day old taste. Everyone at the table (4) total did not have a decent dinning experience. The "ribeye" was uneventful and my son's fish and shrimp were rather comical. Fish was overcooked and dry and he was short several shrimp according to the menu. We had heard that the Mount Vernon, OH Ruby Tuesdays was working on re-establishing its reputation after years of decline. So we decided to try it tonight (5/19/24) and 8:30PM. When we arrived, we waited to be seated until my son asked what we do. I told him we wait for a host/hostess if we could find one. Then an employee stood up from a booth she was sitting at and said, "Sorry. I was cleaning a table." (She wasn't actively doing anything. I thought she was a customer waiting for service.) A server came to our table, took our drink orders, and we ordered loaded potato skins, two salad bars, and the NY Strip with Shrimp. The server returned with our drinks, asking me, "What did you have? Pibb? I've been here since 10 this morning, and I'm tired! [After answering Diet Coke]. "Well, just try it! I don't know what I got! I'm so tired!" Okay... We went to the salad bar, much of which was empty. Then we realized the hostess hadn't brought us silverware. Seeing no employees close by, I went to the hostess stand and got us some. When the food came, the surf & turf had four little shrimp on it. I retrieved a menu, and the photo had more than that. Also, the potato skins had no scallions on them. The server came and asked how everything looked, and I opened the menu to the s&t, and she replied, " Well, the menus are out of date. Prices keep going up, and the portions are going down. Corporate is terrible! They are impossible to get a hold of, and never respond! They have declared bankruptcy twice! Oh, and we're out of scallions for the potato skins." Wow! I wasn't expecting that tirade! I responded that, whether the menu was out of date or not, we had ordered off it. She came back later and said she asked the kitchen how many shrimp were supposed to be in the plate, and the kitchen responded, " I just put on a handful". Then she said she asked them to drop one more for us. (And what do you know, she later brought out a single shrimp on a plate for us. Not sure if it was an editorial comment or not. In the meantime, the ketchup on our table was empty. I went searching for a full ketchup, but only found other empty ones. The customers at the booth next to us slipped us theirs with a chuckle. (So far, we've gotten better service from the other customers than the staff! Just before 9, our server told us, "If you want anything else from the salad bar, you have to get it now because we are closed, and the salad bar people like to be out of here by 9:15!" Really?!? At 9:05 they stacked the chairs on top of the bar AROUND a customer who was sitting there eating! Meanwhile, we finally had to yell and ask for our check. This was the most laughable service I have ever seen! My wife and I have spent years working in restaurants, and this was ridiculous! We showed up right at our limit of arriving before closing because we understand cleaning and side work, etc but a half-hour before is very reasonable - especially when two are ordering the salad bar. Was there on Memorial Day as there were few choices in the area. The service was great considering they were short staffed they were helpful and attentive and did the best they could with a not so good situation. The food was meh, salad bar was ok, it was filled and the items seemed fresh but the taste of some of the salads were just very bland. The food we ordered for dinner was just average as well, nothing we got was great, but not bad either. Not many choices in the area so just expect average food. The boneless chicken wings breading wasn't great and some of the chicken was chewy (not recommended) But other than that the food was alright and could have definitely been better. Haven't been to a Ruby Tuesday for a long time as I thought they were all closed. Visiting Mt. Vernon with a friend so we decided to go. Compliments to our server. She was friendly and working hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. It seemed as though the restaraunt was very under staffed. I ordered the wings,bone in 6 pieces, fried mushrooms and a drink. The wings were good the hickory burbon sauce was very good. The fried mushrooms however, not so good. Not fresh whole mushrooms but pieces in a crumbly coating that was very salty. I brought them home for the next day. They dont reheat well and taste bitter. They are in the trash. Mt Vernon Ohio has one "steak house", mainly only due to the liquor license in the city. The restaurant is very old and dingy. They are sitting on a gold mine but refuse to update. The salad bar on TV looks so good...we go in every time they advertise the additional items...never changes and any mention of it falls on deaf ears. If you don't want to update and improve, it's time to move on and let another restaurant come in and appreciate the community. We are going to try it one last time today (we always say that). The bartender kept putting me off ( nobody at the bar mind you), wouldn't give me a menu and was telling other customers she was sick of all these "bag people" lol referring to the take-outs. I totally understand her frustration, there is a REAL shortage of employees available to work right now. I was so impressed that I won't be returning anytime soon. The place wasn't busy but it took quite a while to receive our food. I ordered the tomato soup. There was way too much cheese on the top. Two heaping spoonfuls. I like cheese, but not when it kills the flavor of the soup. Two people in our party ordered burgers medium. The burgers looked more medium rare. Way too much pink. I would really love to give this place a decent Review , as the facility is decorated nicely And is kept clean , however the service here is nothing short of abysmal , and for whatever reason has remained that way even After 4 different visits . I'm Not sure whether the problem is an understaffed wait team Or just poor management , however after four visits in as many months , they've had 4 chances to redeem their lackadaisical performance , yet with no improvement or the hope thereof in sight ! Another issue is that the menu items seem to be Cooked catch as catch can by the kitchen staff . Sometimes they are tasty and precise , other times nearly Burnt or served lukewarm . Rather than Sitting in aggravation at a table waiting for even the slightest bit of attention and not getting didley squat ......or worrying about the way our meal will be cooked that particular day , we now go down the road to MASSAs restaurant , where then wait staff is oriented to deliver excellent customer service and the chef turns out fabulously tasting meals each and every visit ! I hope that our local Ruby Tuesday will be able to get back on track , as I do Like the menu items offered ... but please !!! .... change the wait staff , the kitchen staff , or the facility manager or whomever is responsible for this huge breakdown in customer service ! Continual Poor performance can only result In a further diminishing customer base . I do however believe that This place is still salvageable if the current customer complaints are addressed and promptly acted upon ! I was glad that we found a Ruby Tuesday for our lunch. I like their concept but I don't have a Ruby Tuesday very near me back home. I like their salad bar and they have a good selection of food on the menu. I had in mind to get the salad bar but ended up with just an entree for lunch. In their lite menu they have a spaghetti squash dish and I just had to try it a what other restaurant offers such a dish? It was good and very filling. Our waitress was nice at first (keep in mind it was only a table of 4) we ordered food and drinks, our drinks came pretty quickly which was nice but while waiting for our food which took over an hour we never got refills, she came over to our table with someone else's food and told us the chef made the wrong thing. The men's bathroom was even worse it was trashed and dirty.
