After a one year hiatus, Bombay Garden Greek Eats is back in business. Same menu as before. I prefer their Indian to their Greek food, but it's still quite good. Fries and nan are also quite good. Did takeout tonight with chicken tandoori, generous portion of both chicken and rice plus nan and their gyro special combo (lamb, fries, and a drink). Good to see Amit and his gang back at it.

I stopped in after seeing the positive reviews and wanting to grab something on the healthier side. This is a small family owned spot and I could tell many of the customers were regulars. The menu is half Indian inspired dishes, and half Greek. I had the hummus appetizer to start. This had to be some of the absolute best homemade hummus I've ever come across. There was a hint of lemon that made it so fresh and tasty. The pita was freshly toasted and I couldn't put it down. I also had the large Greek salad with salmon. This came in at a meager $12. Which is an insane steal for the amount and quality of food. All of the pricing was very generous. The salad was delicious and had tons of Feta on it. I can tell why there are so many repeat customers.

The food was delicious. The owner was very kind with helping us decide on our first Indian dish to try. We ordered curry with spice level 3 and it was perfect. The pita and naan were both very good. We loved the Greek lamb meat gyro and the chicken kebab. We are excited to go back and try more!

"Fried Bologna, World Affairs, and One Legendary Brad"…read more Longer review but wanted to share. Traveling through central Ohio, I decided to detour for something unique--and landed at Homestead Family Restaurant in Fredericktown. I walked in around 7:30 AM and immediately spotted a table of 8-10 older gentlemen who looked like they were actively solving the world's problems. (Global warming? Inflation? Or just the eternal question of whether the Buckeyes will ever win big--hard to say.) The place oozes classic small-town America charm. I parked myself at the big U-shaped counter, and before I could even think about coffee, a hot cup appeared in front of me. Service here is fast, friendly, and so welcoming it feels like they've known you for years--even if you just rolled in off the road. The menu had those retro comfort food gems you rarely see anymore. And there it was: Fried Bologna Omelet. Pennsylvania has scrapple. Hawaii has Spam. Southern Ohio has Goetta. Central Ohio? Central Ohio proudly waves the fried bologna flag. I ordered the Bologna Omelet with fried potatoes, plus a biscuit with sausage gravy (because if you say no to sausage gravy here, you'll probably get escorted out). The food was very good. Potatoes could've used a little more time in the pan (maybe par-boiling first), but hey--still plenty tasty. For the "tribe," I grabbed: Breakfast Bowl (potatoes, eggs, American cheese, topped with sausage gravy--basically edible joy). Sausage Biscuits and Gravy (aka, double-down on gravy, because life is short). Everything hit the spot. The place is neat, the food hearty, and the service top-notch. But here's what really made the stop unforgettable: Brad. Brad is a local legend and was celebrating his birthday that morning. He sat next to me, gave me the lowdown on the town, and greeted everyone like the unofficial mayor of Fredericktown. The entire restaurant seemed to be there for him. Brad is a kind, gentle soul--the kind of person who makes you think, "You know what? This world really does need more Brads." Final Thought: Homestead Family Restaurant isn't just about good food (though the fried bologna omelet and sausage biscuit & gravy are worth the trip). It's about community, character, and the people who make small towns special. If you're in the area, stop by. Even if you're not hungry, you might meet Brad--and trust me, that's better than dessert.

It all tastes really good, and best of all, the price is lovely. I mean, if you need to feed a family on a budget, go here. If you are hungry or starving , go here. It is like going to your mom's place and having a good relaxing breakfast. Friendly service, helpful owners, and they don't cheap out on ingredients or anything. Worth the 3.5 hour drive from indiana to there!

I think having a call reservation system could help, but they probably could also have some outdoor seating when the weather is nice. I ordered a grilled chilled cheese to be safe because I suspected the quality of other items would be questionable. Unfortunately, the grilled cheese is made with one single slice of Kraft American Singles. Not even real cheese and it wasn't fully melted. The fries are frozen crinkle cut fries, also somehow cold. The bacon was gross, tastes dry and just low quality, like microwave kind? I tried my son's kid waffle which was surprisingly decent. Hash-browns were okay just unseasoned. Overall would not recommend if you're looking for quality ingredients but if you're looking for a greasy spoon you're in business. The staff was nice, probably the only positive for me.
