Been to Mt Vernon twice in the past couple months for work. This place served me many a drink and meals...mostly because there's not a lot of choices out there. But now that I know how cool the bar staff are I'd be back even if they opened 20 new restaurants in town. The food is what you'd expect, but I find it gets even better when you're hammered. Four of us went for the first time to the Sunday Brunch and none of us would go back. Price too high for what you get. Add coffee to the price at over 2 dollars and that really hikes up the price. The men did not like the parfait and the cookies were like store bought. read more

Every eatery has its good & bad days. This location is tidy and the food tastes great. Their garden bar is always fresh and replenished. The Ruby Relaxer drink is awesome! I highly recommend eating here. I have read some negative reviews but I feel like people need to communicate with their server. Its not fair to keep quiet at the table because they don't get a chance to make things right if you're having a bad experience. I love this Ruby's. The managers come around and greet the guests to make sure things are ok and the food is hot and cooked right. 5 stars....especially when compared to other restaurants in town! read more

We ordered a simple appetizer that took 45 minutes to come out of the kitchen. It took another 35 minutes for the main course to arrive. Unreal. The manager cut our bill in half which was nice. But this want the first time the service has been poor at this RT. read more

Took my wife there for her birthday around Thanksgiving. My burger was great, her lobster tail was extremely over cooked and dry and her zucchini was so nasty, black and greasy! I went with my boyfriend and my grandma for dinner. We ordered the Big Dipper sampler, it was great and the peach tea was amazing. My family liked their food but I was disappointed with my meal, I asked for medium on my NY strip but well done. And the menu sides I picked French fries and Mac n cheese, the fries tasted stale and gross. And the Mac n cheese had an up charge because it's "premium" and it's not labeled on the menu as such. The service here is generally not good. It has improved a bit over the last year. If you want better service sit in the bar area. The food is just average. The salad bar is usually pretty good. Pricing is ok. read more

Had a very good meal after catching a movie. Tried to order ribs but they were out. It was late so I don't hold that against them. My wife and I both had steaks. They were both good. the waitresses where informed and fast. They were always coming to our table asking if we needed anything. I went here with a HUGE Group it was my college graduation and I'll tell you what, They were ready for us put the tables together and I just though it was a wonderful experience. I have also been there other times as well and the take out has its own parking place right up front by the doors. I would definitely go here again if I go visit my friends. Good Neighbor hood too. This was the most disgusting food I have ever had in my entire life. A night I will never forget

Sat march 24th 2018. First off the door clearly states "Reservations welcome" except the day we called for our party of 20. They reassured us seating would be no problem at our 2:45 planned arrival time, but the manager REFUSED to take a reservation. Short time line of what occurred after that: 2:45 arrived at restaurant 40min to get seated (I went in to use the restroom while waiting and the restaurant had ~15 people in it), 25 min to get drinks, 30 min to get food. Refills were scarce, there was talk of refilling water in the restrooms. Wife's burger was charred and had to have the crust cut off. "Well done" does not equal burnt. Also they have removed my favorite from the salad bar, the broccoli salad and replaced it with a disgusting spicy roasted broccoli. There are many restaurants to choose from in this area I would recommend not visiting this one. read more

Ordered carry out from them a few minutes ago, food came out terrible! All of the sandwiches had the wrong toppings and were so salty we could barely eat them. So my wife called and made a reservation for Sunday, Fathers Day, for 6:15. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that whoever took our reservation was incorrect and that they do not take reservations. I pointed to the sign printed on the front door that said "we gladly take reservations" but that did not change her mind. She told us they would need to clear off a table for us and that it would be a few minutes, we had five in our group. A few minutes later she came back and said our table was ready and she could seat us know. As she was taking us to our table, we passed three booths with table service for six before we came to our still wet table for five. There were several empty tables and did not seem to be overly busy. Unfortunately, we sat there for fifteen minutes without anyone coming to take a drink order or tell us someone will be with us shortly. We did see our hostess over in the corner but she tried very hard not to make eye contact with us. Anyways, we got up and left without ever getting any service at all. read more
