I was excited until I saw how messy the salad bar was. Food all over. Spills. We chose to order off the menu. We waited forever for food. They gave my son a made up version of the Mac and cheese. Penne noodles with shredded cheese on top (layered this way). My salad was delivered on a dirty plate. We were so grossed out. The first thing I did when we walked in was ask if Candy was working cause the last reviewer said she hated life, so I kinda wanted to sit in her section to see if she was just having a bad day then. The sweet hostess asked if I was "kin" - I being a Yankee thought she said Kim but whatever. She told me she no longer worked here so we had Dee instead who was perfectly nice. We didn't order anything complicated but It took at least 20 min for our food to arrive. Granted, it was a very late lunch so the staff might have been changing over but the 3-4 tables surrounding us sat dirty throughout our meal. Food was floating in the water glasses, the seats were filthy, the plates were dirty, the salad bar had dishes that looked like they weren't washed at all (salad dressing on them), the wait staff was terrible, and the manager was rude to my wife. Very disappointed in the game time bundle. I think our food was old. The host was nice when I came in but the 3 people standing around the bar and the bartender seemed very unhappy. I didn't get a hello, how are you, or even a thank you. Wasn't asked if I needed help out with a big box and jug and didn't even get the door open. Very rude. When I got home and opened the aluminum pans and other containers I was shocked. I had 4 scoops of potatoes, some green beans, 12 of the tiniest chicken tenders, and some dry ribs. Came here after leaving Waffle House when the hostess there told us there was a 10 minute wait to be seated in the empty restaurant. Service was only slightly better at Ruby Tuesday's. This restaurant is doing nothing to uphold the franchise name. It took over half an hour for a burger and grilled chicken to come out, and the staff was just altogether weird! Our server had no concept of personal space and got about two inches from my face each time she came to the table. At one point, the hostess climbed up on the counter behind the bar and stood on the counter with her shoes on, but nobody ever wiped the counter down afterwards. Sad to say, but we'll not be eating at this restaurant again. This used to be one of our favorites, but it has really went downhill lately. The last 4-5 trips have been very disappointing! The steaks have seemed to be cheaper cuts, the chicken is rubbery and the seafood is sub par. The salad bar, a signature item at Ruby's, is not stocked well some of the time and almost never has croutons, bacon bits or the baked cracker strips. The ribs are usually good, but we were informed last night at 5:30pm that they were out of ribs. Out of ribs at 5:30? Really? That has to be a complete lack of planning. We weren't told they were out of ribs until we had already been seated for 15 minutes and had ordered drinks and an appetizer. My wife and I both planned on getting ribs, so we would have probably left, but we were already on the hook for $20 for 4 drinks and an appetizer! We were also informed that the salad bar for our 2 year old grandson would be $4.99, which is half the price of an adult salad bar. We have been charged $1.99 for his salad bar in the past, which is a reasonable price for a 2yr old. My wife had a steak and chicken combo, which wasn't very tasty, so she only ate half of each. My daughter got a sirloin steak, which she said was good and tender, but she has had better before. I got the Smoky Mountain chicken, which has been one of my favorites, but it was really disappointing. My wife and I both got a salad bar, which was alright, but of course they were out of baked cracker strips. We all agreed that the best part of the meal was the Tator Totchos appetizer. As bad as the food has been lately, the service has been worse. We've had to wait on refills, napkins, the check, ect... The staff is friendly, but either just busy or incompetent. The one exception was our server several trips ago named Raven, as she was great! We didn't wait on anything, the order was correct and she was very attentive, even though she was very busy giving her other tables the same great service she was giving us! She was genuinely friendly and very good at her job. She is actually the reason we went back the last two times, but she wasn't there, so we had to endure another bad experience. Hopefully she'll come to work at one of our other local favorites! Basically, this is not the same restaurant it was in the past. As I said before, it was one of our favorites, so we were reluctant to give up on it. Hopefully, it will get better, but I don't believe I'll be there to see it. This place is terrible, food is okay, service is horrible, awful management. Waited over an hour for our order and the restaurant wasn't busy. Our order was messed up and it took another 30 minutes to correct it, and our to go order didn't arrive with our meals like asked. Then we had to ask the waitress multiple times for to go boxes, and she incorrectly charged our bill. And when asked to speak with a manager he didn't offer to correct anything or even apologize and acted like a jerk when we asked for a discount. This location wasn't too horrible, but it wasn't the greatest, either. I just came here mainly for a few drinks and an appetizer, and luckily I came during happy hour. It was about 4:30 on a Tuesday, so it wasn't crowded at all. I highly recommend trying the shrimp fondue. It's a little pricier than the queso, but is amazing and you get a generous portion. However, the chips I received were half stale, so that kind of sucked. Anyway, the house margaritas were good, but my new favorite is the salted caramel appletini. had to be the worst meal I have ever had! I ordered the 12oz ribeye medium rare. it came out and looked white. it was almost like it had been boiled, frozen and microwaved . it was well done....dry as a bone...and looked like it had never seen a grill or even fry pan for that matter. also came out like shoe leather. the baked potato was the size of a plum and also hard as a rock. being it was a first date I didn't wanna seem an ass and complain. her ribs looked ok but her potato was the same as mine. this is my 3rd trip to rubys in as many months and I will never eat there again or recommend it to anyone. all my previous visits were just as bad food wise. read more

The service was really really slow. I also was bummed that despite being able to TOUCH the bar from my table, I was not able to have a drink special since I wasn't in a bar seat. Oh well - I was willing to overlook that. Eventually the food came, not good. My Caribbean chicken was just some plainly cooked chicken with a REALLY spicy "salsa" on it. The salsa was not freshly made so all the diced pieces didn't taste good and were "limp." It also came with coconut shrimp which were deep fried to hell - not good at all. My kids' food was okay, but they didn't mention that the side was extra so wasn't expecting that extra up-charge. It also was a bit confusing - my dinner came with two free sides (note: the spaghetti squash is terrible), but the kids' came with zero sides so their side of grapes got added to my bill. Called in a to go order from the Hampton Inn across the street. After a 15 hour drive to get here, we were tired and hungry. Michelle took my order. Very chipper, she said our order would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived, they couldn't find the order. Bartender asked me who I talked to and I replied Michelle. After a few minutes go by, he walks to kitchen and gives them an order. He came out to ring up my order for a burger. I told him I ordered the Bourbon Salmon. Saw a Ruby Tuesday while driving to vacation and we've always liked the one near us. This one is not up to par. The service was good and quick but other than that it was no good. They forgot to include the complimentary biscuits. The floor was sticky and the plates at the salad bar were dirty, as was the restroom. They were blasting bad 80's music the whole time. I had broccoli cheese soup which was nice in a rainy day, but the broccoli was chewy and crunchy. The blue cheese dip for my mom's sandwich tasted bad. The ranch dressing also had an odd taste. Ewwww!!! I didn't want to even give this a one star. I've always loved Ruby Tuesdays so it's soooo disappointing to have had such a horrible experience. It used to be a nice restaurant in Beckley...Let me get to the point. I took my mother there on June 8th for her birthday dinner. The salad bar was disgusting. My sandwich had not one, not two, but 3 Hair's in it!!!! My macaroni wasn't even done. Overhearing others mention theirs wasn't done either. Also it happened to be 88 degrees outside and the air wasn't working apparently. After that I was so disgusted, I didn't have an appetite. My boyfriend always gets the steak. He's never complained before, but his steak was a grey looking color like it was old. So he was immediately upset considering it's an 18 dollar steak. The manager never came out and spoke to us. No apologies! Just took the food off the bill. So that told me enough about how they're running things there now. I won't be back & I highly recommend if you're traveling to not stop by a place that you could get sick from. read more

I went to this restaurant on a business trip and I have to say, it was the absolute worst part of the whole 2 day trip. We were seated after about 10 mins of waiting which was pretty annoying considering there were many empty tables. When we were finally seated, our server forgot our silverware and even gave us our appetizers without realizing it. I asked for the silverware and just fluffed it off as a 1 time occurance until the people next to us asked for theirs too. After waiting for over 20min for our meal, my husband takes a bite into the burger that he ordered medium and it was raw and dripping blood. My fish was the exact opposite. It was dry and tough. After reading these reviews I now know that our experience wasnt the only one like that. I was very disappointed with my visit and I will never be going back, ever! read more

Giving it four stars because of the food. Excellent, well cooked, fresh food. I have eaten here a few times but I'm reviewing based on my most recent experience which was earlier this month. The atmosphere is the restaurant is okay, I just really hate how most restaurants keep it so DARK in them. It isn't just Ruby Tuesday, its most restaurants you go to. Do they do this so you can't see the dirt or is this supposed to create some kind of atmosphere? I don't know about anyone else but I don't like eating in the dark and it was incredibly dark in there. Anyway...the food: My boyfriend and I both ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with Bleu Cheese substituted for the Swiss Cheese. I added avocado to mine as well. Those sandwiches were HUGE and extremely good, although I will probably get Swiss on it next time I order it. Their fries were average (not soggy or overcooked). We also ordered the salad bar. The salad bar was clean and well stocked with everything and the ingredients were fresh. Overall, it was very good. Now on to the waiter....he was very nice and attentive for the most part. However, at the end of the visit when I handed him the money to pay for the food he said, "Did you want change?" I find that to be an incredibly awkward situation to be put in. I was leaving him the rest of it (about $7) for a tip, but he should have just gave me the change and let me decide to leave it or hand it to him. Asking if I WANTED change was so awkward for me. But I did kind of feel sorry for him because a party of about 6 elderly people can in for some celebration (there were balloons on their table) and the first thing they said to him was a reference to chitterlings. I found this horrible but I guess it is typical of a lot of the older generation. Overall, good, fresh food but turn the lights on and tell the waiters/waitresses not to ask awkward questions like that. read more
