I have visited two of the Ruby slipper locations in New Orleans so I wasn't sure on what to expect at the Pensacola location. I found the food to be just as delicious. I was able to be seated at the bar and service was fast. Also, my waitress was extremely pleasant. Your location is downtown and there's plenty of space for all the people dining. read more

TLDR: This is a restaurant with delicious offerings and a convenient waitlist option. Service was friendly and attentive. Drinks are pretty good and prices are reasonable, but a little more time could be spent cleaning up between sittings. The long version: I stopped in with the family for a quick bite to eat before hitting the airport. The Yelp waitlist feature was a lifesaver since we had kids with us and a flight to catch. We only waited 15 minutes or so. Without getting on the waitlist early it would have been 45. Service: We told the staff we were in a hurry and they were friendly and accommodating, taking our order almost immediately. Drinks: We ordered the Paloma and Breakfast Margarita. The Paloma was delicious, while the Margarita was just okay. If you love orange juice, the margarita might be more your style. Paloma: 4 stars Breakfast Margarita: 3 stars Food: the kids had the cream cheese frosting topped pancakes and loved them. My lady ordered the fried green tomatoes with bacon jam. No lie, THIS WAS THE BEST BITE OF FOOD I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME. The bacon jam was amazing, the tomato perfectly breaded and fried, with a sauce drizzled on top that lifted it to the next level. 5 stars. I had the Spanish omelette with the biscuit and a pancake added on. The biscuit was fine, but not amazing. The omelette was good, with good ingredients, but was cooked a little more than I like. The pancake was delicious. 3.5 stars. The only issue we really had was that our table hadn't been properly wiped when we sat down. Our menus stuck to the table and there was a fly or two making trouble. It was the Sunday rush, and this isn't a white tablecloth restaurant, so I'll call this the cost of doing business. I had the Chicken St. Charles Benedict & added some avocado on top and swapped hollandaise sauce for the Tasso cream. Others at the table had breakfast tacos, sweet heat chicken & French toast bites, the trifecta, and biscuits and gravy. Everyone loved their food. Service on the other hand wasn't great. Not attentive, didn't speak loud enough, and multiple spills at our table. I would go back and give the service a second chance though, since the food was so good. I also had the mimosa flight. Honestly it was a little disappointing, don't think the flavors hit very well and sort of tasted too artificial. Would have preferred just a normal mimosa instead. Especially considering i went with a friend and we had three kids. I appreciated how much space was in between the tables. For appetizers, we got the beignets which were super tasty & soft and the fried green tomatoes, which came with a super tasty sauce! I got the french toast bites for my son's meal and they were fluffy and delicious! For my entree, i got the berry chantilly pancakes which were ok, but honestly i was disappointed in the fruit that was clearly old.
