We've been going to Ruby Slipper for years; it's our go-to for brunch on vacation. This visit however was a standout from all the other times we've gone. The food was delicious as always but the service was 100/10. First things first, I am recently Gluten Free due to a new medical diagnosis and going out to eat has been a huge adjustment and usually means I either get something that tastes gross or nothing at all due to risk of getting sick. Not here! Ruby Slipper has a dedicated special dietary menu with one whole side devoted to GF options. Score! The French toast I got was made in gluten free bread; it was good enough to enjoy. You can't compare it to real French toast but for GF it was pretty good. I got eggs with it, which are always delicious here. Let's talk about the next thing that made this visit perfect: the service! Top notch! They were all so knowledgeable and friendly and accommodating. We came with our two children and my two year old was extremely fussy; the server offered to bring us a to-go box for our food after she promptly fell asleep in the booth. My oldest (4.5) ordered avocado toast. I had ordered all the fix-ins on the side and they accidentally made it with everything on top. They were quick to apologize and remake it. Then my oldest had her meltdown because she is 4.5 and we were sitting too long and it was too loud and the avocado toast was not like how she was used to. She started to cry and the COOK of all people came over and asked if she was okay and how could he make it better and was just so warm and kind and I was completely BLOWN away at how willing he was to make it right. I mean, they were so BUSY as it was Sunday brunch. So he made her a special avocado toast just how she liked it. Our server was also just so sweet and brought us boxes and kept things moving in such a compassionate way without making us feel bad about our children just falling apart. Everyone was so sweet and it reminded us of why we go there! Everyone in our party also loved their food too. Definitely would recommend it to everyone! read more

Before heading to the Pensacola Airport my friends took me here to meet their beautiful daughter & her boyfriend for lunch. There were plenty of tables and our server was very sweet. I was not that hungry so I shared some Beignet's & fried green tomatoes with my girl Paula. SOOOO good! The food came quickly and it was nice sitting and chatting. Very casual here...not fancy at all... *They do take reservations but we had no problem getting a table at 12 noon on a Monday. I'm sure it's not as easy on the weekends. Great location to try, is best to get on the waiting list before you head there. However, if it's just two of you, the weight will not be very long. Only about 10 minutes for us to get a space and while we waited, we were able to tour the other locations nearby and get some good videos . Although I usually don't like crowded places like this because my seat is not normally a seat I would choose, I think it was worth it this time. We did sit at a small table for two and my back was against the world(I'd rather look out to who's coming behind me), but it was a great experience. Excellent food! I tried something new and like it- Costa Rican Breakfast-however I did not like the plantains, I wish they were sweeter. My husband absolutely love the pancake and his bloody Mary. I did try the mimosa flight, but it seemed to be too much for just one person or its just me. Rob provided excellent service, he has such a great personality. Energetic and lively spirit, he was tentative and made sure to check on everybody. He also gave great recommendations for beach locations and tour locations that will not fill touristy so that you can have a peaceful experience and enjoy Pensacola. Ruby Slipper absolutely knocked it out of the park! I had the crispiest, most delicious grit cake topped with crawfish and eggs, and it was SO, SO, SO good. The crispy outside of the grit cake paired perfectly with the crawfish and eggs it was one of those dishes where every bite just worked. I visited this location recently since it was a spot my friends and I would visit frequently 9 years ago when I was in the area for school. The place hasn't changed a bit which I love, the bacon Bloody Mary is a must have and you can't go wrong with any of the food items. The Benedict combos are the absolute best so you can have a variety of great choices. I went for the biscuits and gravy to have something more light, but it's still a good size portion and packed with flavor. The staff is always very energetic and helpful which makes you feel right at home. Tons of seating and spots at the bar, with an outdoor patio which is nice when the weather is great. Visited this location on a Saturday around noon. We had a wait time of 25-30 minutes and ended up sitting at the bar (which is first come first serve). Our server was nice and was able to place our order relatively quickly. The mimosa flight was okay. We all agreed the two middle drinks were the best and could have done without the green and red! The smash burger lacked flavor and the fries were cold. Overall service was quick and we had a pleasant experience. This place gets really busy and I'd recommend getting there before you want to eat so you can get through the waitlist. I don't think they do reservations though. Trifecta Bennies Sampler 5 of 5 Eggs Conchon Benny Bayou Shrimp Benny Chicken St Charles Benny Each of these were delicious with the eggs Conchon being the best. The braised pork definitely did the heavy lifting. As for the other two, they were great in there own right. However, I'd say the bayou Shrimp needed a bit more seasoning to tet that Cajun flavor through. The hollandaise sauce was delicious on each of them and may be the reason for all the deliciousness. I'll have to visit again to verify. The coffee here was good, but nothing special. If the other food is as good as the Benny's were, I'll have to return for sure. read more

The dressings to the drink were three green beans, a quarter slice of , a quarter slice of ‍ and a green olive . Not very impressive. Next was the appetizer of Pig-Candy Bacon Bites. That was good!!! Mom really enjoyed it. Next we had the Three Little Pigs Omelet. It contains bacon, ham and sausage with Swiss . Loved the omelet. Very filling. Mom could not eat all of hers. I've been to Ruby slipper a few times during my numerous visits to Pensacola and it's always an excellent go to spot for a good brunch. I love the New Orleans/Cajun/Creole food options. The mimosas are good, pricey, but good. Service is always great and the food comes out in a timely fashion.
