Fried Chicken with Collards and Red Beans and Rice.
    Michael D.

Came in to try some comfort food we've heard so much about. Not the quickest service I've experienced in the Great Southern Restaurant Group. (Fish House, Atlas Oyster House, Jackson's Steak House, Five Sisters Blue's Cafe and Angelena's Ristorante Italiano. With Atlas and Angelena's setting the bar. Once greeted, we started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip, which was quit tasty. I had to try the Famous Fried Chicken (Dark) with Collards and Red Beans and Rice. The Fried Chicken was hot and delicious! The sides were way under seasoned, leaving me to doctor them with condiments. My wife really enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and Gravy with Mac n cheese and Fried Okra, which added to the comfort food enjoyment. My only wish would be, replacing the loud metal chair's on the concrete floors, which take away from the Blues Cafe Vibe. Glad we tried Five Sisters, but we will stick to our favorites in the future.

My husband and I were in Pensacola looking for some comfort food. Well, we definitely found it and more. The food was tasty and we were treated to an awesome blues experience. If you're ever in the area, definitely give it a try. Even though it was loud crowded and crazy, we had good service and a good time.

Fried Pork Chops w/ Mash and Collard Greens

Walked in on a rainy Thursday evening. Blues musicians playing, interesting decor, the place is well lit and offers inside and outdoor seating. Server was friendly and brought our drinks. I ordered the Fried Pork Chops with collard greens and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT. Both were good. Pork chop a little tough to cut, mash was very dense and a bit dry even though it had gravy on it, but they were seasoned nicely. Overall flavor was great. Husband liked his BLT. All of the food here sounded so good! There were definitely other things I want to try if we come back in town. And the prices are very reasonable!!

This is our first time here and really enjoyed our dinner. The prices are really reasonable and the atmosphere is so fantastic. I got the chicken tenders with collard greens and fried green tomatoes and I definitely could not finish my dinner. My husband had the club sandwich which was outstanding and he loved the french fries The service here is excellent. They are definitely here to take care of you and they show it. We love the music and the white lights and just really welcome here. I really recommend this place and I know I will be returning for Sunday brunch with jazz

The shrimp and grits is out of this world. The sweet tea is amazing. The chicken and waffles were good, but not super memorable. The Mac and cheese was good too staff is super friendly and our waiter gave great recommendations for food! It's lively from the music and just all around a good time!

If you're looking for Southern food in the Pensacola area, Five Sisters Blues Café is a great choice. The Bloody Mary--packed with a bold kick and topped with a chicken wing that takes it to another level. I went with the Southern Chicken Plate, and it did not disappoint. Great value, generous portions, and the two-piece serving comes with two sides. You really can't go wrong with the fried okra, and the grits and greens were fantastic. Our waiter was accommodating and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot is well worth the visit.

Went down south to visit family and was flight was delayed until the next day. Decided to do some research on top eats in the area. All pointed to Five Sisters Blues Cafe for an amazing Southern food experience. Arrived and it was lively and packed with people. Patrons sitting in the outside patio and many more inside listening to the live Jazz music playing. We opted to sit inside to hear the music. Was seated in a reasonable time for a busy Sunday Brunch. Ordered a Hurricane drink and it was not to be expected. A little watered down or missing something nothing like a Hurricane I've had before. I subbed my chicken for wings instead of tenders, best decision. Chicken was 'heavenly' seasoned to perfection. Belgium waffle was nothing to rave about. Now the Mac and cheese was smooth and cheesy perfect combination. Red beans and rice were ok needed more meat, but I still ordered one to go. The live Jazz music made the moment even more intimate. Great dining experience.

The food is always so good. There's another parking lot across the street since their actually parking lot is small. Food comes out so quickly.

Mood: Early Lunch with Soul Love this downtown area and first time here after hearing great things. Service was a little short staffed but very sweet & working overtime. I enjoy the laid back vibes- southern charm of decor and art work. Food was delicious. My drink was strong! Just how I like it. Tequila Blues 10/10 strong & sweet. Could have another one right now! Buffalo Chicken Dip 10/10 scooped every bit of that dip up. Spicy kick, creamy, & full of flavor Southern Cobb salad 10/10 biggggg salad omg! Couldn't finish it. Really tasty, full of good fixings other than lettuce. Fried green tomatoes was bomb! Chicken pieces fried just right. Shrimp Crawfish & grits 10/10 when I say tasty & more than enough I mean it. That shrimp was coked just right. Didn't have anything bad in there. Could eat there more for sure. Must try again.

We were in town for a doctor's visit & decided to stop by...saw lots of recommendations online! Food was delicious & portions were large. My daughter is picky but she loved it too! Staff were all very friendly.

We just stumbled upon this place looking for brunch before our flight. And I'm so glad we did. They were having jazz brunch on Sunday. Great music. And the food was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I even took it to go on the plane and brought the leftovers back to Texas for my lunch the next day. I had the 2 piece with 2 sides. Mac and cheese and green beans and it comes with an amazing homemade piece of cornbread. And of course our waiter was great. He kept the mimosas on the table flowing. I definitely recommend.

Fried green tomatoes with jalapeño ranch dressing. They looked delicious; however, they were very bland!

Found this place nearby where we were exploring, and so happy we did! Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that is served. Started off with the fried green tomatoes. They looked perfect; however, they were surprisingly bland including the jalapeño ranch. Next up were the entrees and they were spectacular! I ordered the fried chicken (2 breasts) and chose mac n cheese and collared greens. OMG, the best fried chicken I've ever had!!! Collared greens were very tasty and the corn bread was perfect. My bestie had the pot roast w/mashed potatoes and the consistency was more like a stew but he enjoyed it. Ended our meal with the Blueberry bread pudding a la mode. OMG, so flippin' good! A tad sweet but totally worth it! Oh, I almost forgot about our drinks! My bestie ordered a bloody Mary and it came with a chicken wing, big green olives and a fried chicken wing lol! I ordered the Blueberry hibiscus lemonade with vodka (minus the triple sec) and although I love blueberries, I had to keep watering it down cause it was too sweet. Staff was very friendly as was our server Paige! Service was excellent! Definitely need to try this local gem! Parking lot is available free of charge, but can be a bit tight and small.

The food was great, even though it was busy and we had a fairly big party. It's loud, but the place is charming, with a lot of local art.

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

This is really a Rouses grocery store with an excellent deli area. I like that the meats and…read moreofferings are fresh. I like to get my fruit here because it is often locally sourced and very fresh. The staff is always helpful and cooperative.
