Restaurant Iron was incredible. From the food to the service, everything was executed at a high level. You can tell the team genuinely cares about the experience they create for their guests. Definitely a MUST try if you're in Pensacola. Let's Show!

Absolutely fantastic experience at Iron! My husband and I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening and didn't have a reservation (recommended, if you want an actual table). They had availability at the chef's table, so we took that. While not the view we wanted, our cares quickly passed. Our server, Ashley, was prompt and delightful. We started with the wings, a Ruby Sunset and the bourbon with bacon. Wow-ZA. I could drink about 17 of the Ruby Sunsets. The wings were delicious and the perfect app. My husband's old fashioned was probably one of the best he's had in awhile. I got the short ribs, hubs got the filet. Both were cooked and arranged to perfection. Told Ashley to give our compliments to the chef (which is fairly rare for us). He deserves a medal for both! We also ordered the Iron Goddess and the Golden Boy and sipped those until our faces were crimson and bellies were full. Highly recommend a visit to Iron!

Sourdough Grilled Cheese with tomato bisque

Located downtown in a renovated old commercial building, the ambiance is a pleasant mix of modern with old bones...it's a good vibe. Service was friendly and helpful without any intrusion. They were "out" of one of our appetizer options, but the hostess/waitress went into the kitchen to see if the chef could create an order for us. We started with Short Rib Dumplings, which I thought may be similar to ravioli based on the website but instead were like fried wontons. Regardless, they were good. We also had Pork Belly with a sorghum cured egg yolk over blue corn grits. This also was quite good, although the pork belly was more like really thick cut bacon than what you may generally picture of when thinking pork belly. The yolk is not runny, it's more a jammy yolk...so divide it up along with the pork belly if sharing. Our other starter were the Iron Wings, which were smallish but pretty good although not remotely spicy...so bear in mind if you're looking for heat. For entrees we chose the Rainy Day Special of sourdough grilled cheese and tomato bisque, and the Smash Burger...both were good, and we ordered French fries, which were freshly cut. It was a positive first visit and definitely worth a drive.

Stopped by Restaurant Iron on a rainy day and couldn't resist their Rainy Day Special -- a grilled cheese sandwich with homemade tomato bisque. The grilled cheese was perfectly crisp and gooey, but the tomato bisque stole the show -- rich, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch. It had that comforting, slow-simmered taste that's hard to find. I also ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo, which came served with potato salad in the bowl -- the only way to do it if you've spent time in South Louisiana like I have. I loved that touch. Unfortunately, the gumbo itself wasn't quite my style. The flavor leaned more toward a Carolina BBQ sauce, which was unexpected and a bit too tangy for my taste. I prefer a deeper, roux-based flavor -- but I can appreciate the creative take. That said, everything else was spot on. Service was amazing -- friendly, attentive, and helpful with both food and drink recommendations. They also have a great wine list and full bar, which I'll definitely explore more on my next visit. The atmosphere was cozy and stylish, with décor that really sets the mood. Overall, a strong four-star experience. A few tweaks to the gumbo and this place would be five stars all day.

Visited Restaurant Iron with friends for dinner and it was definitely a treat! We were seated immediately upon arriving and were greeted by our server. We skipped appetizers to ensure we left room for our dinner. The butternut squash soup was delicious! The short rib and pasta was made to perfection. I was disappointed with the cheeseburger as they had no lettuce or tomato to add. It was plain and would recommend something different on the menu. We ended with their seasonal crème brûlée which was very creamy. The restaurant lighting was dim and quiet. My only recommendation was to have the server visit the table sooner to order. There seemed to be long periods where we were waiting for her to arrive and take our order.

We stopped by for lunch today and found out you can order the dinner menu also. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the kitchen and talking to the staff. We had the crab-cakes omg a must have, they are truly full of crab and a perfect sauce. Then we had the duck breast with potatoes and leeks with a satsuma sauce. And a wonderful Iron sunrise drink! As always the service was excellent and the food was fantastic! Give them a try for lunch.

Old-fashioned. The bacon was delicious as well as the drink.

My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner before a Candle Light event at the church around the corner. We are there relatively early, before dinner time, so seating was not an issue. We sat at the bar, as that's one of the places we enjoy took a bit with others. We opened with adult beverages, which were absolutely delicious! We both decided on their sandwiches. The Reuben for me and smashed sandwich for my wife. I also decided on a bowl of their Thai soup is a starter. While sitting there, we did learn a few things regarding their local cocktails. my soup came out relatively quickly and was absolutely delicious. Nice and spicy! Our sandwiches came out relatively quickly as well. My Reuben was out of that this world delicious. My wife's Smashburger was extremely good as well. We ended up taking half of the Smashburger home with us. We truly enjoy stopping in at Restaurant iron! The people are professional and friendly, service, exquisite, and food delicious!

The special of the day: chili stuffed loaded potato skins with melted cheese, pickled onions, jalapeños, and chives with a side of ranch.

Food was spectacular. Everything was fresh and hot and came out as expected. I had the short rib dumplings and the Smashburger as the main spotlight, but one of their talented sous chefs, Chef Jimmy, told me about this loaded potato skin special, absolutely blew me away. Service was great too, Danielle the bartender took care of me and make sure everything came out correctly. The ambience was really nice, very elevated, but not hoity toity. Worth the money, definitely will be coming back.

I'm from Dallas, and we know good food. This place is good food! I introduced my friends to this place a while ago, and now every time I/we come to Pensacola, IRON is a must. HIGHLIGHT: Foie Gras. This is the only place I've ever had it and the main reason I keep coming back. Lightly seared with a PBJ "sauce". The flavor profiles sound crazy, but will not disappoint. Obviously...Florida....so can't go wrong with seafood. Their sauces honestly make the dish, and presentation (if you can't tell...see pictures). I'm always excited to see the dish (whatever I order) because presentation is always spot on. Happy hour is killer and makes the drink prices very reasonable. If you're going for a special occasion, let them know and they'll print out a message on your menu The place can be quiet or get more lively. As the night goes they start playing music which livens it up a little. Not a great place for littles IMO. Service has always been stellar too. Trust their recommendations Overall, top notch!

Just had an unforgettable meal at Restaurant IRON--every bite was perfection. We started with the Hatch chile croquettes, made with Shelburne aged cheddar, which provided the perfect balance to the chiles' mild heat. They were served with pickled okra and a habanero pepper jelly that delivered a pleasant, sweet heat. The okra had a clean, well-rounded tang that complemented the dish beautifully. Its subtle acidity provided a refreshing contrast, tying the flavors together in a way that made each bite more compelling. Next, we indulged in the foie gras 'PB & J', a creative and luxurious take on the classic childhood favorite. Made with Grade A foie gras, almond butter, and strawberry jam, it was a decadent blend of savory and sweet. The basil sauce and balsamic added depth and complexity, while the cinnamon milk punch brought a delicate warmth to the dish. Served on craft bakery toast, it was the perfect balance of crisp, creamy, and luscious flavors. Alongside our appetizers, we enjoyed two expertly crafted drinks. My wife had the King Cake Whiskey Sour, a seasonal cocktail made with king cake-infused Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon, lemon, and egg white. The drink was beautifully garnished with a dusting of gold, purple, and green sugar, embodying the festive Mardi Gras spirit. Meanwhile, I had the Pink Skies, a refreshing mocktail featuring raspberries, a pineapple shrub, vanilla, and a lime garnish. It struck a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, making it a delightfully bright and flavorful sip. The elk rack, ordered rare, was unbelievably tender--melting in my mouth with every bite. The cognac crawfish cream took it to the next level, rich and indulgent yet perfectly balanced. An absolute explosion of flavor. The elk was plated on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes that absorbed the richness of the cognac crawfish cream, making each bite even more decadent. Alongside it, several jumbo spears of asparagus were cooked to retain a slight crispness, providing a fresh contrast to the luxurious sauce and tender meat. The seared lamb loin was another standout, cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a beautiful crust. The mint-pea purée added a fresh brightness, while the dill and pomegranate arils brought layers of complexity. The lemon-infused couscous and sautéed beech mushrooms provided just the right acidity to complement the lamb--every element on the plate had a purpose. Along with her entrée, my wife enjoyed the Night Moves, a cocktail crafted with Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon, Cynar, rosemary, lime, and pomegranate. It was beautifully garnished with a dark flower floating atop the drink, adding an elegant touch to its deep, complex flavors. Meanwhile, I had the Perfect Pear, another non-alcoholic cocktail that was a revelation. A spiced pear shrub with lime, angostura bitters, and sparkling water, it was refreshingly crisp with just the right touch of acidity. Like an elevated pear soda, but so much better. For dessert, we indulged in the icebox Nutella pie, a luscious Nutella cremeux nestled in a toasted pretzel crust. The pie was elegantly plated with a caramel sauce spread across the plate, adding a rich, buttery depth to each bite. A sprinkling of Maldon Sea Salt provided the perfect finishing touch, enhancing the flavors with just the right amount of salinity. To accompany dessert, my wife had the espresso martini, crafted with Alla Prima 'Iron Blend' City Roast-infused spirit, roasted chicory, Heirloom Pineapple Amaro, and cream. Given its pale appearance, my wife didn't expect such a strong coffee flavor; however, the taste was remarkably robust while also having a creamier mouthfeel than other espresso martinis she's tried. She found the inclusion of Heirloom Pineapple Amaro to be harmonious with the other flavors, noting that while it didn't introduce extra bitterness or a strong fruity note, it enhanced and added depth to the coffee's rich profile. This meal was an experience--one I'd gladly relive. If you haven't been to Restaurant IRON yet, go. Now.

Had an amazing time here! Came into town with my fiance to take beach pictures. His mom recommended this place and gave us a few item suggestions to try. For starters I was very happy with the staff. I had made a reservation and arrived 15 mins early but was sat immediately and greeted with warm welcomes from the staff. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and super cool. Before this restaurant, we went to a different place for brunch and our waiter was pretty rude. So coming here made me feel better about the dining experience in Pensacola. I tried escargot before after our server assured me that it was delicious and he was 100% right. I wish we had room for dessert but we were so full. Money well spent!

What really sets Joe Patties apart is the quality. Nothing compares to the freshness of their fish and seafood. If you feel like you're paying a little more, just know that when you cook it properly at home, the quality more than justifies the price. One tip: if you're getting steamed shrimp, skip the pre-steamed option. Go to the counter, pick out the shrimp you want, and have them steam it fresh for you. Definitely grab one of their tubs of garlic butter and herbs and have them add half or the full amount depending on how much you're getting. I got the Argentine shrimp, about a pound and a half, and had them use half the butter. No one in my group expected it to be as good as it was. I set the plate down and it was gone in less than five minutes. I was lucky to even get three pieces for myself. We also purchased a whole grouper and had them fillet it for us. We seasoned it with their Everglades rub, and I have to admit it was probably the best grouper I've ever had in my life. The freshness makes all the difference. We grill often and have made grouper before, but it's usually been frozen, and it never comes out anywhere near this good.
