Food was decent but this is definitely the place to get your po'boy in pensacola! Will defiantly be back

Nice place overlooking Santa Rosa sound. Little sand beach off the back deck. Terrific flavor on the Crawfish Étouffée Eggs Benedict over a couple of fried green tomatoes and bed of fresh spinach leaves. Bloody Mary was pretty darn good as well. All for $26 including 18% tip.

Shrimp and grits very salty that day. Sorry for the bad pic. It was very dark in there.

The look of Nola is very cool and the staff were friendly. The catfish and Poboy were pretty good standard for what they are but the romalaude sauce was excellent. The stuffed fish special was the best thing served that day. The stuffing was excellent. It had crab in it. I ordered the shrimp and grits. While everything seemed to have been prepared well, the grits had a nice texture and the shrimp were also prepared nicely, and the tomato sauce was thick. Unfortunately, the dish was painfully over salted and almost inedible. Hopefully it was just a problem on that day.

I won't complain --- 10/10 Have the sampler w/ rice and beans, crawfish étouffée, seafood gumbo. Fish sandwich all the way, shrimp po boy (half).

Not as good as the last time... We stopped into Cafe Nola again, while in P-Beach for the long week... Not sure if the restaurant is under new ownership or management, because it wasn't like what it was before - The service was "meh" and the food was subpar. When we rolled in, the bartenders/servers were screwing around with each other and no one acknowledged us (or the family behind us)... We waited a few minutes to order (no biggie, we weren't in a hurry). Our food came out quickly and looked good. We ordered the seafood gumbo and shrimp/oyster poboys. The gumbo was awesome, but the poboys were not (the sandwiches were huge though)... They were very greasy and overly salty. All-in-all, we were disappointed with the food quality (especially for the price - $60 for lunch) as compared to last year when we were there. As for the restaurant itself, it still has the same cool vibe, clean and seemingly well-kept... The service however was nonexistent. There were employees at the bar (2 managers-ish and 3 bartenders/servers) who were sitting around playing grab %ss and unconcerned with customers - Loudly/obnoxiously joking with each other, playing on iphones, and pretty much ignoring the customers. I get it that it's a laidback joint, but customer service goes a long way... Needless to say the customer service needs attention. Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed in Cafe Nola this time around... It was really good last year. This place has a ton of potential (and a prime location), but they're aren't in the same league as what Cosse's on Beach used to be (before COVID shut them down). Hopefully ownership/management makes some changes and instills necessary quality control, because this place needs it.

Was not expecting to leave a bad review however this food was disgusting and horrible. It was overcooked. The hush puppy was so hard and so overcooked I could not eat them unless I broke it apart . Oysters that were fried you couldn't even put your fork in them to grab the oyster. I had a horrible experience will not be back..

Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Our total was $178.00 before tip, which is well worth it. The attire ranges anywhere from dressy to beach casual, they have several great seating options for special occasions, and there's even a gift shop with some great finds. For anyone who remembers, this used to be the Boy on a Dolphin years ago. As an honorary Pensacolian since 1975, I consider myself a bit of an expert on all things Pensacola Beach--and you won't be disappointed here! Pro tip: Get a group photo by the bay before leaving. Even at night, it shows off those perfect Pensacola views.

What really sets Joe Patties apart is the quality. Nothing compares to the freshness of their fish and seafood. If you feel like you're paying a little more, just know that when you cook it properly at home, the quality more than justifies the price. One tip: if you're getting steamed shrimp, skip the pre-steamed option. Go to the counter, pick out the shrimp you want, and have them steam it fresh for you. Definitely grab one of their tubs of garlic butter and herbs and have them add half or the full amount depending on how much you're getting. I got the Argentine shrimp, about a pound and a half, and had them use half the butter. No one in my group expected it to be as good as it was. I set the plate down and it was gone in less than five minutes. I was lucky to even get three pieces for myself. We also purchased a whole grouper and had them fillet it for us. We seasoned it with their Everglades rub, and I have to admit it was probably the best grouper I've ever had in my life. The freshness makes all the difference. We grill often and have made grouper before, but it's usually been frozen, and it never comes out anywhere near this good.

Our waiter, Jared, was excellent. He was friendly, outgoing, and helpful in a genuine way. Not one of those annoying, phony, over the top sugary types. Just a great guy serving great food. We both ordered the smashburger of the month, which, Dec 2025 was a double smash burger with arugula, pecan smoked bacon, goat cheese and fig jam. I ordered Cajun spiced onion rings with mine, and my husband got plain French fries with his. Jared recommended their remulade dip that comes with the gator bites to dip our onion rings and fries in, and it was spicy and scrumptious. The burgers were amazing, better than expected. Fries and onion rings were perfect. Crispy and not greasy. Same goes for the bacon on our burgers. No slimy, greasy bacon! It was cooked to a nice crispy texture but not at all burnt and still held that great flavor! The restaurant was decorated for Christmas with Buddy the elf and it looked great. Restrooms are next door shared with the bar and are clean and well kept. Excellent all around. Highly recommend!
