    Banana Pudding

The online check in was clutch for a Friday night for 2. We enjoyed watching the sand volleyball while we waited. We were too close to the stage, but did not begrudge this because we were seated within 15 minutes. Our server was prompt and drink orders were taken before we even settled in. This was very much appreciated. We split the Hawaiian Chicken breast with red potatoes. After several meals of fried foods, we needed a change of pace. They were not able to plate it separately, but an extra plate did arrive with the meal. We finished with the banana pudding, which was amazing and huge. The presentation was worthy of the photograph I took. I am not going to lie: this place is big! But they were able to orchestrate the controlled chaos like Aircraft Carrier flight operations. Definitely recommend, and definitely use the online check in.

Food: shrimp cocktail, eel sushi, spider roll, filet mignon and flounder chowder. The chowder is excellent! Shrimp cocktail is beautifully served but only 5. Sushi is excellent. Ambiance: loud live music, beach volleyball and children running around. Service: the only drawback is the service because it is such a large restaurant. It takes them awhile to travel back and forth to the kitchen. Join the waitlist! It does cut the wait time down.

Amazing!!!!! Everything was great. We had shrimp cocktail for appetizer. My hubby had the Floyd's flounder, I had the fried shrimp. So good! Sara was our server, very attentive.

Going back to Flounder's is like returning to a beachside fever dream you somehow enjoyed the first time and deciding, "Yeah, let's spin the wheel again." And somehow, the sequel still works. The place remains gloriously over-the-top. Part seafood restaurant, part nautical museum, part "did someone buy out a Bass Pro Shop liquidation sale?" Nets, ropes, buoys, random fish decor, and enough maritime chaos to make you wonder if your waiter is secretly a retired captain. It's loud, touristy, slightly ridiculous, and honestly half the fun. This round, I went straight for the Flounder Chowder, and here's the pro tip: the "award-winning" label is not menu fiction. It's absolutely worth ordering. Rich, creamy, loaded with flavor, and the kind of chowder that makes the whole table go quiet for a second because everyone suddenly has the same thought: oh, this is why people talk about it. This is comfort in a bowl with just enough Gulf Coast swagger to make you want another spoonful before you've swallowed the first. Then came the Yellowtail Sushi roll, which was already a favorite, but this time it showed up drizzled with orange juice. Yes. Orange juice. On sushi. At first glance, it sounds like the kind of culinary decision made during a kitchen dare. But somehow it works ridiculously well. The citrus hits first, bright and fresh, then melts right into the clean yellowtail flavor and turns the whole bite into this sweet-tart, refreshing little flavor bomb. It shouldn't make this much sense, and yet it absolutely does. Weird on paper, genius on the plate. It's officially my new favorite roll there. That's the magic of Flounder's. Just when you think the giant tourist-ship atmosphere is the main attraction, the kitchen sneaks in something unexpectedly excellent and reminds you why this place keeps pulling people back in. Four stars. For the chowder, the orange-kissed sushi, and for once again proving that beneath all the nautical chaos is a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Also, if anyone judges orange juice on sushi, they simply haven't evolved yet.

Food was amazing. And huge portions. My husband got a burger and I got the flounder sea food platter. Service was fast. We went in a Saturday around 6 I suggest putting your name in the waitlist through yelp. We got there and waited 5 mins for a table. Some were told 45 mins. Sat outside a band was setting up but we didn't stick around to listen. Overall great place!

Busy, just like the last time we visited. They seated a part of 6 fairly quickly. Ambiance was wonderful, we sat in the heated patio area. Which was great. I wanted the chilly weather and half wanted warmth, so it worked. It's been 6 years since our last visit. As with everything prices have gone way up. I wasn't impressed with my meal. Nor was my teen. The oysters appetizer was the best part. The drink was mostly mixer, and not alcohol. For the price it was disappointing. I'd return for the oysters, now that we live close. I'd skip the rest.

My wife and I were in town for a weekend getaway and stopped by Flounders after an afternoon at the beach. We came straight in to our table, I had the Firecracker Shrimp Tacos and my wife had the Seared Ahi Tuna Tacos. Both were excellent and plenty of food. Wayne was our server and was very attentive, courteous and thorough. It was moderately noisy, but we could still talk to each other without shouting. I wish we would have had room for the Key Lime Pie dessert, but the Tacos were too much

    Fish Po' Boy

I wanted to try so many things on the menu here, but just didn't have the stomach space! I tried some sushi to start and then went for a fried fish po boy. The sushi was good and the po boy was delicious. The breading on the fish was very nicely spiced and had a great crunch to it. I tried dipping in the ranch as well and that was a good call (as always). Our server was so chill and helped us find what we were after, providing great suggestions. The decor and lighting in here was a lot fun, contributing to a fun experience. It was a great spot to hit after a day out and about. I also opted for some diesel fuel and it definitely hit the spot

We had a great time at flounders! Our server, Trish, was very sweet and conscientious of my gluten allergy. She offered great suggestions and modifications to held accommodate. The bathrooms are spacious and seem handicap accessible - the overall ambiance of the restaurant is comfortable with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Our food was delicious and for the price, it is a great deal! Highly recommend this stop!

    Shrimp and Grits
    Kim D.

Friendly and quick service despite how busy it was. The bread they serve at the start is pillowy and served fresh. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was packed with flavor and real creamy. Servings are huge like this plate was as big as my face I'm pretty sure. Very accommodating too as we were dining with someone who has certain food allergies and they made sure to check before making recommendations.

The food was amazing, I got the Yellowfin Tuna. It was delicious and very filling! The server gave lots of recommendations on what was good. The ambiance is perfect if you're down for drinks, music and a swim in the bay!

I had tried it a few other places and was not super impressed. Our hotel was very close to Sandshakers, so one of the days we were visiting, I decided to go get a couple Bushwackers for my Wife and I to try while the kids swam. Setting the scene... I walked into Sandshakers around... 130-2pm. Upon entering, not a soul in sight. The place seemed closed as it was VERY dark and quiet. I walked around until finding a small bar with a few patrons. All of which were pretty old (I am 40) and they all had to be in their late 60s to early 80s. I sat down, with the idea that i would be in and out. welp... I was wrong. The bartender was nowhere to be found, so I got to listen to a bunch of EXTREMELY crass men talk a bunch of nonsense as if they were teenagers that just learned to swear. It was very awkward. I would say 10 minutes passed and I decided that I had enough of it and was going to leave, as i stood up a woman appeared from the back and said "perfect timing" maybe thinking I had just arrived. I asked for two bushwackers and then got to see her exchange a few insults with the clearly regular patrons before getting my drinks and paying. I high tailed it out of there, but not being heading her warning that all of the booze was on the bottom and to make sure its properly stirred or it wont be very good. I walked back to the hotel and gave my wife the same instructions, we stirred as much as we thought was needed but were both met with straight alcohol. I guess not something most complain about because thats the purpose of drinking booze right? But they weren't good. We both struggled to drink ours and they eventually melted and we pitched them. Seems strange that the alcohol wasn't floated rather than put in first but I am no expert. We did not return and I did not get the hype. The Key lime Colada at Flounders was exponentially better than said Bushwacker.
