Walked up and host said there weren't any ocean facing tables available, we said that's fine and were sat in a dimley lit corner. Looked in front of us and saw that there were at least 5-6 empty tables open by the ocean. Our wonderful server Kyla let us move to one of those, which we appreciated very much. Good little bar restaurant. We enjoyed the queso, it was better than the queso at other local mexican restaurants! Chicken tenders were suprisingly delicious! Well marinated/seasoned and a big serving. Prices are a little high. Would still recommend if you're vacationing in the area. A very beautiful drive on Route 399 from Pensacola FL (east) to Navarre FL. The Santa Rosa Sound on your left and the amazingly close Gulf on your right. You will travel across the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Just beautiful and not a long drive at all. When you reach Navarre on your left you will see a very long fishing pier. At the beginning of that pier is a very cool little local spot called Windjammers on the Pier. A neat beach bar/ restaurant with a very laid back Jimmy Buffet sort of feel. Flip flops, cut offs and swim suits are the norm. Wonderful service where the servers are happy, outgoing and ready to tell you all about it. I had the bacon cheeseburger with all the toppings. Juicy and delicious. Definitely a "Cheeseburger in Paradise". lol. That and a tall cold delicious Margarita made for a perfect afternoon. read more

The blackened redfish tacos are absolutely delicious. I would go back just for these alone. Prices are very reasonable for what you receive. It was nice being able to go to a restaurant and have a nice meal without feeling overcharged. The bartenders could be a bit more attentive. The drinks are decent but nothing to rave about. I don't understand the hanging beer mugs. Apparently regular customers buy them like some kind of trophy to drink their beer from. The gross part is I saw one pulled off the hook and immediately filled with beer. No washing or even rinsing after hanging in the air and some look a little dusty. I gave it a 2 star, because the location and view... if it was a review on food alone, without view and location, they get 1 star. Andy D's at least had better food and more diverse menu. Oh, Windjammers. A great time with a gorgeous view but just ok food. You're going there for the waterfront dining, great drinks, and fun servers, but don't have super high expectations for the food. It is good, it's just not great, with the exception of the Nashville hot fried pickles. Those are fantastic and we immediately order them every time we go in. We ordered the crab cakes appetizer and they came almost black, burnt on the outside but undercooked and creamy in the middle. We ordered a variety of meals for dinner: grilled cheese with bacon was good, the grouper fingers were fine, the burger was over cooked, the tater tots were great. We were recently staying at the beach in Navarre, just a few spots up from Windjammer and I read the reviews and it honestly didn't sound too impressive. We were on at last night in Navarre and we just didn't feel like cooking or heading out (still lots of packing and stuff to do), but we decided to walk up the beach and give them a shot. We were 3 adults and 2 young children and we were seated outside on the deck with views of the parking lot for the beach and the beach itself. The menu had plenty of what I would expect on the beach, but we chose hamburgers with fries and chicken nuggets for the kids. The kids asked if they had cherry coke and although they don't have it our server said she would make some for them and she did with a bunch of maraschino cherries on top!!! The adults chose the Bushwackers (a delicious milkshake alcoholic drink this area is known for) and they hit the spot!! Our burgers came and we were totally surprised at how good they looked and tasted. We had a very pleasant experience at the Windjammer and wouldn't hesitate to stop when we visit again. We typically stop at Windjammers as soon as we arrive in town and have always enjoyed our experience there. We stopped on 7/5 and were met with the rudest hostesses we have ever encountered. Interesting, there were 5 people at the hostess area. The restaurant had 1 table occupied and we asked for a table for 5 as our daughter was a couple of miles behind us. We were told that until everyone arrived we couldn't be seated. We complied and sat at the bar. Our daughter then dropped off the children and went to park. We again asked for a table again and were told again we would get a table when our daughter had her car parked. Now there are 2 tables occupied and these girls are determined to make us wait, even telling the kids to sit at a bar table and us to sit at the bar. They were unbelievably rude. When we finally were assigned a table they made sure to put us at a tiny table with hardly any room for our food. I don't have any idea if the owner looks at Google reviews but if they do they might want to consider who they hire in the future. Next time we won't stop there but will move on to Andy D's where we are always treated well. Let me also add that as I walked out after having had fish tacos, I had to stop and vomit repeatedly in the bathroom before I could return to my car. read more

Update: Soooo I may have been a bit harsh earlier, because all of my complaints have been rectified. Food is great, view and fresh air is fantastic (when the coverings are stowed), and the service is good. I don't hear the bartender anymore and everything has a chiller vibe. I really enjoyed the chicken fingers and my family loved the red fish dinner. Their menu has some new desserts to try :) I am very glad I tried this again and am definitely coming back. read more

She was pleasant, attentive and efficient. Loved my fried grouper while my wife had fish tacos and friend enjoyed his blackened grouper. Potato salad was excellent in taste and texture.
