The food was really good, there are a lot of options. I was nervous that there was only going to be fried food, but they have food options for everyone, including sushi! The cocktails are yummy and reasonable prices. The service was amazing, we had two girls, one was in training, but they were simply amazing and attentive although the place was packed. The manager I must highlight because he exceeded his role to even bring us menus and utensils to the table. Ambiance was nice, they had live music, it was a Friday night we went. I will say the wait is long, but put yourself on the waitlist and it goes by quick. They sell you this dreamy "amazing dining experience" story, but reality hits fast. The hostess plopped us at the sushi bar because we dared to show up as a party of two. When we asked for a table, she acted like we'd just ruined her day. She finally moved us to a four-top... with only two chairs. Apparently, a chair bandit struck right before we arrived. Our server saved the moment--friendly, quick, and on top of everything. Unfortunately, the rest of the restaurant felt like a shouting contest. The noise level didn't just creep up--it roared. We couldn't hear each other at all. Not a word. Not even close. Skip this place if you want an intimate dinner unless you plan to communicate via hand signals. We've stopped by before for the outdoor music, and that part actually works. Inside, though? It's so loud it deserves its own warning label. And yes, it really is that loud. read more

We are local and I had never tried this place. I didn't realize it was connected to Flounders and McGuires. The food did not disappoint. My mom loved her fried shrimp. I got the shrimp salad and it was HUGE. My only complaint would be you can't eat it easily with so much stuff. I asked for a second plate and took out som of the lettuce so I could mix it up. Very nicely themed crab decor! They have an attached gift shop for souvenirs. The strawberry smoothie was a nice nonalcoholic option. The fried honey buns were great! Very filling so be careful!! The appetizers we ordered were the chicken wings and stuffed crabs. Both very delicious. The crab bisque was definitely not for me. It was way too under-seasoned and disappointing. I ordered the crab cake with shrimp and enjoyed it. The pineapple coleslaw was surprisingly very yummy, as someone who doesn't normally like coleslaw! I would definitely order again. My friends all ordered the shrimp boil. As people from Louisiana, we have definitely had better shrimp boils. This one was more just like boiled shrimp. A little underwhelming for being the entree. Crabs on the Beach is very much a party going on. It is fairly loud, there is a lot of swag, and the drinks are huge. If you're feeling saucy, then give the Crabs' Jar O' Rum a look. A mason jar filled with pineapple & orange juice, dark rum, and coconut rum, served over ice and easy to drink. It helps wash down what is run-of-the-mill shrimp and crab, which is not to say that it is low quality, it's just that they could do so much more. Their sushi game has quite a range, both nigiri and sashimi, and is crafted fresh daily. Salmon & yellowfin tuna are featured and the rolls have all kinds of variety. But don't miss the poke bowls featuring tuna, salmon, pickled veggies, and more. The bowls are fresh and sensational, and here's a tip: this might be the best to-go item on the menu, because it's not fried nor hot and the flavors have more time to blend on the way home. Service is good but not great, and seating is plentiful. The view on the second level is pretty spectacular on a sunny day with the calm & shimmering sea laid out before you. Enjoy the view, maybe turn a blind eye to the level of noise, and savor some seafood. *And skip the Crab Nachos. They're overrated and the portion size is obscene, with chip-to-protein ratios that are heavy on the corn side. Lesson learned. read more

Crabs on the Beach in Pensacola was awesome! We ordered the shrimp nachos and the snow crab and everything was absolutely delicious. The shrimp nachos were loaded and full of flavor, and the snow crab was fresh and perfectly cooked. We ended up doing takeout so we could eat right on the beach, which made the whole experience even better. There's nothing like great seafood with an ocean view. The food traveled well and still tasted amazing. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in Pensacola! read more

This is the second time we are visiting the same place. We had such a wonderful visit last time we wanted to come back. We ordered bloody Mary's and frozen margaritas, shrimp taco and mango shrimp salad. Our server was Elijah and he was very attentive and kept checking on us. She crab soup was delish, fried blue crab claws were disappointing with way too much breading to meat ratio. Staff Debbie in the bar and Jules our server were great! Absolutely horrible experience at Crabs on the Beach in Pensacola. We had a party of 13 and spent time and money for some of the worst food and customer service we've ever experienced. Before arriving, we called ahead and were told there was no wait, even after telling them we had a large party. We were only about five minutes away, but when we got there suddenly there was a 45 minute wait. That should've been our first warning sign. My father and four others ordered the shrimp boil. My father's shrimp were literally frozen while everyone else's food was warm to almost cold. Everything was bland, flavorless, and completely unappetizing. The fish tacos were so bad they made us nauseous after a few bites. When we asked the managers to take the food away because we couldn't eat it, there was no apology at all -- just rude attitudes and excuses. There were three managers involved. The general manager, Richard, was part of the situation, and the manager who ultimately told us to leave was Jacob. It then took 30-45 minutes just to get our check. We were told our card "didn't go through," but when we checked our statements we had already been charged. While trying to sort everything out, one manager came outside claiming there was still a remaining balance because "no one was at the table," even though members of our party were still sitting there. The worst part was watching Jacob yell at our waitress, Nevaeh, in front of a packed restaurant even though she did absolutely nothing wrong. She was the ONLY good part of this experience and did everything she could to help us and make us comfortable. After all the confusion, arguing, terrible food, and disrespect, Jacob finally just told us to "leave." Easily one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. We will never be back. read more

The two of us were seated immediately on the outside patio. A talented musician played and sang, and we had a beach view with turquoise waters lapping up on the white sand beach. There is a large free parking lot since Crabs is on a public beach. Our server Alexis stopped by, gave us the rundown, and brought us water while we decided what to drink. I had a crabwacker and a water. As expected, it was really a tasty dessert. For our appetizer, we got the crab and shrimp balls that had a catchy name I forgot. It was lunchtime, so my hubby and I split the grouper plate. We had the grouper blackened, a side of French fries, and slaw instead of the asparagus. We asked for a side of starter that we only used for the very blackened pieces of grouper and their fries. The fried fish lacked in seasoning; I actually sprinkled a bit of salt on it to try to make it better. Stopped in tonight after checking out the sunset on the beach. I ordered the crab and shrimp spinach dip as my meal since I was not super hungry but wanted to eat local. I enjoyed the doughnut and honey app. The dip was just okay for me, not much crab meat but a good portion of small shrimp. It was enough for one person. The chips were a mix of warm and then stale. Service was great. Restaurant gets busy and loud which didn't bother me. The bubbles walking in was fun. Not sure I'd eat here again unless I ordered something different. If you want crabs do yourself a favor and go across the street to the shrimp basket. The boil wasn't a boil and just was a plate of a crab leg, shrimp (which I will say was good), a sausage, corn, and maybe 3 tiny baby potatoes with tons of dry seasoning thrown on it. Crabs were overcooked so they didn't want to come out, barely any meat in them. Shrimp Basket actually was a boil and came with 2 clusters of crab legs and lots more of everything. The server was nice but didn't really check in on us and when I said "food was okay" in a meh kinda tone didn't ask how it could be better. The 2 stars due to location being awesome on the beach but parking was confusing on how to get there. Inside was cool though. read more

However, I would say the crabs were fishy and not hot when I got them. They were also more expensive than other places in town. Great drinks, food and location! After a long day on the beach we came here for dinner and were not disappointed! There is a playground for the kids with showers to get the sand off. They also did a crab race for the kids, with little hermit crabs racing. When they sit you down they provide these cinnamon bites to dip in honey and those were dangerously delicious. I ordered the crab attack drink and it was creamy, rich but not very strong. Tasted like a strawberry smoothie with whipped cream, I wasn't even a little buzzed after finishing but it tasted good. We shared the southern fried platter and that was a good idea as it was a lot of food! They also let us substitute the coconut shrimp because we don't like coconut. You cant pick the substitute but they just replace it with whatever the chef chooses, it will be extra of an item already in the platter. It was all delicious, cooked perfectly and devoured easily. Really enjoyed the food and loved that the kids could play close by while we ate. Highly recommend for families. read more

I live on the west coast and the oysters out here are always varying in size depending on the day and where you go. Coming here the first night I was blown away at the size, the meatier the better for me and these oysters here are fantastic! The service is also amazing too, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We found this place on yelp and we were really glad we did Food was excellent as was the service! The view is phenomenal. You cannotl beat it! I got the combo seafood basket, which had enough food for two people easy. It was a giant piece of fish plus popcorn, shrimp plus coconut shrimp and it doesn't stop there. My husband got the mahi-mahi burger and he said it was the best mahi blackened fish he's ever had which he gets it everywhere we go so that says a lot he also loved the french fries Cold beer great service excellent food I definitely recommend. The only thing I would say I don't like is the pineapple in the coleslaw. Coleslaw is good. Don't mess with it. Why would anyone put pineapple in coleslaw? read more

What really made the night, though, was our server Ashley -- hands down the best service we've ever had. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made the whole experience seamless and special. Give that woman a raise, a trophy, and maybe her own talk show. We enjoyed the patio with live music and the ocean just steps away with a volleyball pit and the ocean in the background. Highly recommend starting with the Balls of Fire appetizer -- spicy, crispy, and delicious.
