Oysters Rockefeller
Jessica W.

Peg leg Pete's was super great! We started off with raw and baked oysters, they were both fabulous. Popcorn shrimp was decent. I also had a local beer and it was super good. I didn't catch the name but it was fabulous I had the special which was a red snapper- PHENOMENAL. My husband and FIL had the grouper and my MIL had the blackened chicken salad- they all loved the food. Baby wasn't feeling too great so she didn't really eat but I ordered her pb&j with corn so it's cool they have many options for kiddos. I will definitely be back to peg leg Pete's if I'm ever in the area again. Our server PHI was super cool, knowledgeable and nice and had an awesome vibe. The ambiance was cool with a pirate ship theme. Loved it!

The crab claws are the best

Love this place! One of our favorite places on Pensacola Beach Fla. It is in before the beach lunch spot.

We spotted this place from the balcony of our Airbnb and were enthralled by the number of cars there every day and night. Would definitely recommend the waitlist, if available. There was about a 40 minute wait so we tried the down stairs area which had immediate seating. This area offered a limited menu; however they had an entire and okay area for children, live music and bay side views. We opted for the oyster sampler and the crab / crab plate. My husband is from Louisiana, we were expected more of a boil flavor. They steam and provide Old Bay seasoning, plus melted butter.

Oysters parmesan and rockefeller.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Abigail started the night with her energetic and friendly demeanor and provided exceptional service. The seafood platter and the gumbo were the best we ever had at a restaurant. The seafood was so fresh and the fish was so big and flaky. The shrimp and scallops, although not the largest, were so fresh and perfectly fried. The parmesan oysters and oyster rockefeller were good but had too much topping. We are used to the grilled parmesan like in Louisiana but these are baked. Personally the oysters were good and didn't need too much done to them. There is no doubt we will be back because the service, food and prices are so worth it. Wish we lived closer!

Get on the waitlist before heading there to save you some time! It was packed even at 5pm. I thought it would be a tourist trap but the food was EXCELLENT. I wanted some fresh fish and gumbo and it beat my expectations. The grouper was cooked to perfection and the sauce that goes with it was delish. My daughter got an enormous burger and she ate the whole thing! The spinach artichoke dip was good, but was really salty combined with the salted chips. Just skip it and get some gumbo for an appetizer! We were seated by the front windows and got treated to an incredible sunset!!

Came in party of 4 had a 10-15 min wait for upstairs. Offered downstairs but nothing grilled offered down there. We waited, they have an efficient system they take your name and number you get a text and a call when your table is ready. Are food was delicious as usual and our server was amazing I think her name was Myra. Local and always love Pegs!

First time here! Love the atmosphere in this place. The decor is awesome. The waitress's Rebecca and Ruby were both great. Food was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Lafitte Oysters

AMAZING Food and service! We chose to sit at the bar where you can get grilled food and we were seating within 5min! We had the mixed Grilled platter with grilled scallops, fish and shrimp... it was fantastic- texture, seasoning, flavor, temperature, appearances- all top level! For appetizer we have the baked LaFitte Oysters- WOW! 5 stars! Red beans and rice as a side and a cup of gumbo... all incredible. For drinks we had the bushwhacker, an old fashioned and a shipwreck- all great. This I had been a perfect meal. We sat at the bar- SHASTA was our server and was perfect!

First time here and all in all the food was good. The food was warm when it got to us and not very hot. The crab cakes were delicious. The mozz sticks and chicken were just ok. Snapper and shrimp were good. Loved the atmosphere! All in all would recommend.

Solid dinner spot! We came on Sunday at 8pm & it was still a 1.5 to 2 hour wait. The actual wait was about 1.5 hours before we were seated. Our waitress was great, no issues or complaints with service. For food we ordered the fried calamari, spinach dip, scallops, & fried catfish. Food was decent. Calamari was slightly chewy but nothing too unreasonable. I enjoyed the spinach dip & my fried catfish was perfect - very lightly fried & flaky. The fries were stale though & my wife's scallops were a little overcooked, but she said the seasoning & flavor was on point & they give you big portion sizes! I also ordered a bushwhacker with a peanut butter whiskey topper & that was dangerously good! Overall, 4/5! Touristy spot for sure but great beachy ambiance & decent food with good price point. Not worth that wait, though. I heard the oysters here are some of the best, but we were too hesitant to order them since it's not prime oyster season yet. Maybe another time.

We are on the waitlist for 6 people (Watson), can we get our table for 11, hostess said to leave this comment?

These questions go to people who have reviewed the business not to the business

Curbside or take out available?

Take out is available. I do not think they offer curbside. Only reason I say this is because I do not see marked spots for curbside. You should go in just to see the fun decor. Love this place! I've been going since they opened.

Can we make reservations a day or two ahead of time?

I have successfully used the sign in option (get in line) on Yelp (nowait) with Peg Leg's.

Pet friendly restaurant?

I don't believe so. There's a small playground that gets crowded with kids and seating is fairly dense but the food and service is wonderful.

Is the playground area open?

The actual playground is open. But ther are picnic tables to sit eat and watch the kids that is covered.

Is this a place where its appropriate to go to straight from the beach with a cover up and flip flops on?

Absolutely! 😎

Is there a weekly special on Mondays?

They have dinner specials always varies from day to day . Great oysters and grouper is our favorite. Wonderful service

Do they have kids menu's?

Yes! They have grilled cheese, grouper nuggets, fried shrimp, etc.

Is there a Happy Hour?

Yes, from 3-6pm .50 off draft 1.00 off pitcher of beer

Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Our total was $178.00 before tip, which is well worth it. The attire ranges anywhere from dressy to beach casual, they have several great seating options for special occasions, and there's even a gift shop with some great finds. For anyone who remembers, this used to be the Boy on a Dolphin years ago. As an honorary Pensacolian since 1975, I consider myself a bit of an expert on all things Pensacola Beach--and you won't be disappointed here! Pro tip: Get a group photo by the bay before leaving. Even at night, it shows off those perfect Pensacola views.

Although this is definitely a preferable location given its adjacency to downtown Pensacola. The drinks were outstanding. Everyone raved about the scallops. I will definitely be re-ordering the crab avocado salad. It was off the charts. The mushrooms and brussels sprouts were amazing. and the Australian ribeye was delicious.
