Miss Hattie's is true southern meal done right. The food was wonderful. Felt like I was eating my Granny's cooking. Fried chicken and pork chops were perfectly done. My favorite is the dressing.

Tastes like church! Grandma can cook! This food has soul. I'm thinking about Pashal's in Atlanta. This is proper Southern food. Went for takeout. Place is small. Smell is right. They got greens on Sunday. I ordered a fried chicken plate, good bread, rice and gravy. The green beans stood out. Breading on the chicken has good flavor. I read the reviews in Pensacola News Journal and I thought "If she can cook for the school district....SHE CAN DO ANYTHING!" I'm dreaming about her collards. Hattie Marie's got it going on! God Bless!

Been hearing some noise about this place online and it's just down the rode from us....so we stopped in for lunch today. I will say that the folks are super nice as well as Ms. Hattie herself. The Chicken is just like Mom would make and the Mac Cheese was on point. Green beans were ok but the Corn muffin was dry dry dry. Fries had good seasoning but they were soggy and they just came out....so?.....Tough call here as the food was above average but the pricing was a bit steep compared to what you can get in the area for less. Parking is something to be worked on, only three spots after that figure it out for yourself. Will stop in again for the Fish and Dressing to round out the experience, but pricing does need to be adjusted though or I feel things will drop off unfortunately, especially for a home grown business....

Wow! My husband and I were craving fried chicken and did a quick Yelp search to see what was close to our house. This place is a hidden gem. It's located in a small building next to a church. The outside and inside of the restaurant aren't much but the food is top notch: I ordered the white meat fried chicken with dressing and French fries. The chicken was super crispy and seasoned beautifully. The dressing was also very good, I am pretty picky when it comes to dressing. This was moist and had a ton of flavor. They even serve it with a little side of gravy, which I ended up using to dip my fries in because the dressing had plenty of flavor. My husband had the dark meat with Mac n cheese and French fries. When we ordered we saw they had banana pudding on the menu and we are big banana pudding fans so this was a must. I asked the woman taking our order what her favorite was and she said the red red velvet so we got a slice of that as well. Our food took about ten mins to come out, we sat outside under an umbrella. The banana pudding was honestly one of the best I have ever had, they did not skimp on the wafers!

Stopped in on our way through town and enjoyed the food very much. It's cute inside and the staff were nice. Get the bread pudding.

If you are looking for a hidden gem serving some of the best fried seafood in the Pensacola area,…read morelook no further than Shannon's Seafood Kitchen. It is everything you want from a classic Florida seafood dive. The restaurant sits in a spot you could probably drive past a hundred times and never give a second thought. It is tucked away enough that if you did not know it was there you might miss it completely. But once you stop in, you will be glad you did. The atmosphere is modest, casual, and clean. It feels like one of those small family owned meat and three restaurants you find all over the South. The only difference is this one specializes in seafood. The service is as sweet as the iced tea and the conversations with the staff flow just as easily. Everyone was friendly and welcoming in that genuine small town way. The food was outstanding. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The seafood was fried perfectly and seasoned just right. The fish was flaky and hot straight out of the fryer, and the fried shrimp were crisp and flavorful. Even the sides were great and tasted homemade. You can tell right away that the owners and staff genuinely care about what they do. Their pride in the food and the restaurant really shows in the quality of everything they serve. If you ever find yourself craving a big piece of fried fish or a basket of shrimp, Shannon and her crew will absolutely deliver. Tip: Do not let the outside fool you. This is exactly the kind of local seafood spot that ends up becoming a regular stop once you discover it. Well done.

Came here for lunch the day after Christmas because there are only so many leftovers one can eat. T…read moreand I both had the shrimp platter that came with a generous number of shrimp. The menu literally says "8 or so jumbo shrimp," so hopefully you get the "or so" like I did. The shrimp were excellent; perfectly fried and the dredge they use is well seasoned. The fries were hot and seasoned, and the coleslaw was cold, creamy, and delicious. The homemade hush puppies were so good I ate my 2 and the 2 T didn't want. The ladies working were very friendly and attentive, bringing out cocktail sauce and some spicy mayo that was really good. If you're in the area looking for a good place to eat, stopping here is a solid play.
