This place had good reviews for food and customer service, and we love to visit smaller local restaurants. The food? Was pretty good! The egg portions of our foods were cooked beautifully, and the food itself did not take long to get to our table once ordered. The lost of stars was service. The lady took our drink order and saod she would be right back to take our order. We gor our orders togather quickly for her... but she basically never came back. I watched her seat, serve drinks, take orders and serve food for the table diagonally behind us. She had time to go cut up lemons for prep, sit another party and get them drinks. At this point i just stared long enough where I could read lips from the other waitress asking if she wanted her to come take our order. I cannot say there was any pleasantries (my husband desribed as kind of rude). We have been to several restaurants in this area and have been treated with such pleasantries and chit chats about the area.. servixe prompt andexcellent... but here... not so much. There is nothing that would send me this way again unfortunately, even id the eggs were well done.

Seafood Platter. Fish, hushpuppies & house made tarter were very good! :)'

This is a very very old school diner. A complete brekkie/lunch only dive joint. They only serve till 2pm. We ordered some lunch to go & they packed our hot fried foods with the wet foods. It basically ruined everything. Which was sad because the Fried fish, hushpuppies & house made tarter was very good. Also Hubby's burger was way way over cooked into a hockey puck. All the ketchup in the universe couldn't save that burger. Anyhoo, The coleslaw, Fried fish & hushpuppies were fantastic. So would like to try the fish platter next & ask for any wet sides to be packaged separately. Great place for Cheap Eats. Will Return to Update.

Really enjoyed this old school joint! It has a charm about it, enhanced by quite a collection of customer (???) portraits adorning the walls. Breakfast was very good. Biscuits and sausage grave were tasty (though a little light on the sausage); the scrambled eggs and hash browns perfectly done. My wife got pancakes which meant I got a taste. Pretty good. Service was prompt and friendly, and the clientele appeared to be mostly regulars. Definitely worth the stop for morning chow, Cheers! RS

I had their breakfast sampler plate and it was really good. The prices are fair compared to other places. The service was friendly. I would describe the ambiance like a Waffle House but with a home-like feel to it.

This is a good local's spot. If you go on the weekend, prepare to wait, it is small, crowded but nice. We waited 30 minutes just to place our order and then almost 30 minutes for the food, but they do not make you feel rushed once you have your food. Food is good for the price. Spouse had the Napoleon with a Puff pastry, not exactly what he was expecting but tasted good. I had the crab cakes Benedict and it was really good even though the Bernese saice was broken. I swapped out the English muffin for a Southern biscuit. Couldn't help myself, being born in the South and all. Sweet tea was a little weak for me, I like mine to steep for like and hour or two so it grows hair on one's chest and keeps one awake for at least 36 hours.

So this place was actually the highlight of our dining experience in Pensacola this past weekend. It came up as being black-owned although I haven't confirmed this. You seat yourself, it's a local diner so no physical distancing whatsoever. We had a party of six and half with my LO and only had to wait a few minutes for a table to be wiped off. The place was nearly full around 9 am on a Saturday. Our waitresses were attentive and personable. All the guys had the chicken and waffles which they raved about. The waitress said they were good and she didn't lie. I had the French toast which was super moist and tasty as well as a side of delicious honey-cured ham. My mom had the pecan pancakes which she really enjoyed and another guest had the omelette. Also no complaints. All in all we wouldn't hesitate to return. I knocked off a star because none of the staff had on masks. Now in Florida, all our mask protocols were ended by our Governor. But COVID is still real and out there.

Very good food, except the hash browns. They've almost always served burnt. Hadn't always been that way. Sad

Although this is definitely a preferable location given its adjacency to downtown Pensacola. The drinks were outstanding. Everyone raved about the scallops. I will definitely be re-ordering the crab avocado salad. It was off the charts. The mushrooms and brussels sprouts were amazing. and the Australian ribeye was delicious. My husband felt it was the best steak he's had. I had some fatty pieces so i wasn't as enthused but the good pieces I had were absolutely delicious melt in your mouth. Obviously, we had a dessert for my birthday and that was a sweet treat! peanut butter chocolate dessert. Maybe a torte? I thoroughly enjoyed it and just overall had a great evening here. The booth was so comfortable and the restaurant is appointed to a degree you don't frequently find in this part of the country. It was very tastefully done. We'll for sure be back and look forward to trying the pearl side next time!

My dinner along with my dinner mates meal all enjoyed ever bit. The. Appetizer was oysters on a half shell with very taste sauces even the horse radish sauce was pleasant per report. The drinks were refreshing and excellent. The mixologist at the bar did a fantastic job Due to an error in our bar orders we were actually provided our first order on the house. An unexpected but much appreciated sign of impeccable service. The Citrus Ginger Salad was very good, it contains chick peas, Quinoa and a whole lot more. The grilled asparagus was crisp, just a hint of salt and no strings and not tough It was a very satisfying meal choice My dinner mates ordered calamari, grilled shrimp scallops and a few of the specials. Every dish was served with a flourish and with great flavor, Alesha continued to provide excellent service through our last bites of food. I'm looking forward to my next opportunity to visit again.

The establishment is so nice and the decor is very relaxing. The host greeted us immediately and gave us some nice compliments also. We were escorted to our seats and server Tatum was there waiting. She introduced herself and told us a little about the restaurant and what they specialize in. She told us about the specials and took our drink order. We ordered the savory bread pudding Benedict and the Bonita's lobster roll both came with hand cut Parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the bread pudding. Wow, isn't your ordinary bread pudding. If you don't like bread pudding, you will love this one! It starts with a special type bread they make and thick cut bacon is baked all through it. Then it's topped with a poached egg with a special hollandaise sauce. Every bite was full of flavor and I hate I ate it so fast. The lobster roll was so tender and buttery. The roll was fresh a little toasty just enough for a little crunch when you bite. The fries, I never had hand cut fries that taste so good. The fresh Parmesan cheese and truffle oil took them over the top. They really take time to pay attention to detail. If you haven't eaten here yet, you must put this one high on your list. We started with the ricotta fig and pear appetizer, and oh my goodness, it was incredible--creamy, sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced. Such a fresh and creative dish! For mains, my partner had the chili citrus glazed duck, and it was cooked to perfection: crispy skin, juicy meat, and that glaze brought such bright, zesty flavors that paired beautifully with the sides. I went with the cobia almondine, and it was one of the best fish dishes I've had--perfectly seared, flaky, with the brown butter, almonds, and charred lemon elevating every bite. The cauliflower purée underneath was silky and delicious. We couldn't stop at just dinner--we shared a few desserts (the variety was tempting!), and everything was spot-on: rich, not too sweet, and beautifully presented. The service was truly amazing--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations without being pushy. They really made us feel taken care of. If you're looking for elevated, ingredient-driven food with Southern-meets-French flair in Pensacola, George Bistro is a must-try. We'll definitely be back soon--maybe for brunch next time! Highly recommend--5 stars all the way!
