This place was great! The Bloody Marys and Bellinis were wonderful! The food was great as well! Large portions and a huge menu to choose from. The place was packed! We had to find parking across the street. I had the banana pecan pancakes and the breakfast potatoes. Excellent flavor to both! The only negative thing about our experience was that we sat next to the kitchen and the man preparing the plates was yelling profanities at the workers in the kitchen. He dropped several "F" bombs. I'm not easily offended, but if my children were with me, we definitely would have complained. One other worker actually stopped by and apologized. He said that that guy "gets really worked up." Obviously! Maybe someone should ask him to watch his mouth then and talk kindly to his coworkers. Just a thought. Great spot for brunch!! I had the Chicken St. Charles and honestly it was enough for two, in my opinion. So yummy! Biscuit was fluffy, chicken was tender, and egg was poached just right :). The food is great but the service was super slow. They seemed to be short of help - surely they have more during peak season. My husband ordered the seasonal stuffed French toast, which was a Mardis Gras (cinnamon swirl and sprinkles on top). It was two small pieces of toast and came with a side of two pieces of bacon for $12. I ordered the Croque Madame with breakfast potatoes, for $12. The potatoes looked like they had been cooked too long and didn't have any seasoning. The sandwich and the French toast were both delicious, just not much food for the price. After tax and tip, over $30 for two brunches that left us hungry after a couple hours. Delicious food for the most part, just portions too small for the price. read more

This is the best breakfast you can get. Anytime there is a Ruby Slipper in town I have to go. My favorite part of my visit to this location was when I stood in a parking space to save it for my brother pulling the car around and a woman wanting to park in it revved up her engine, skurting the car forward, and stopping centimeters before my knee to try and scare me off before calling the police on me. The police did show up but don't worry I got it straightened out. You have to visit the Ruby Slipper. The service is great and the food is better. read more

Family and I ate here May 23 around the time they opened for the day. We were seated immediately and the service was first rate. Kids had pancakes, cheese omelet, potatoes and biscuit. They all ate pretty well and didn't complain. The wife had a trio of pancakes-blueberry with cream cheese icing, praline pecan with bacon, and cinnamon swirl(or something like that). Since I was able to try a bite of all of those I can say they were all good but the praline bacon was awesome. I had the "taste of the ruby slipper" (or something like that). It consisted of: three split biscuits each topped in a different way. First was a fried green tomato with some sort of rotel-like sauce on top with an egg on top of that-very good. The second was BBQ with a tasty sauce and egg-very good. The third was a chicken strip with sauce and egg-aight. My dish was rather heavy for breakfast but would be fantastic for brunch if you are into that sort of thing. All in all I would go here for breakfast or brunch ANYTIME. The fact that it wasn't busy and we were in and out quickly made the experience great for a family of 5 whose kids were ready to hit the beach. I give the Ruby Slipper 3 of 5. The food was fabulous. No complaint at all on the food or even the service from the waitress. However, the "get in line" feature where you're supposed to be able to "check in" to save your place in line (much like a reservation), was basically a waste of time. We "checked in" online and then upon arrival we were to see the host. She paid no attention to our check in and then told us she would "try" to get us in quickly. We then waited approximately 30-40 minutes, although our online check in gave an approximate wait time of 10-15 minutes. I understand a wait time for such a good restaurant, but if the online feature is not going to be used, then it should not be offered. Overall, I would eat there again, but will plan a longer amount of time for the "wait". read more

I'm sorry to say, but I was grossly disappointed. Perhaps I ordered wrong when I ordered the Boogaloo Shrimp Benedict. It was swimming in tomato sauce with chunks of canned tomato with no seasoning. The poached eggs were undercooked and the fried green tomato had no flavor. Certainly not worth $15. Our waitress was great. Southern hospitality is NOT good and well at The Ruby Slipper. The "hostess" was so blatantly rude that we left immediately. It takes a special kind of dumb to be that bad at your job. We blame the hiring manager, of course. Please have more respect for your establishment and your patrons than to let an employee with that attitude be the face of your restaurant as people walk through the door.
