Went here for brunch and it was below average. The meal was well priced and had plenty of options. The drinks were great and had plenty of alcoholic and non alcoholic options. The NOLA cold brew was phenomenal. The food during our visit was terrible. I had the brioche French toast which was cold from the first bite. The staff messed up my sisters order and had to remake it (completely understand this happens sometimes), but when her correct meal was brought out her pancakes were doughy and not completely cooked. Maybe half of her meal was edible. Our friend ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and they were cold and below average as well. They tasted like regular pancakes with icing on top of them. read more

We had a party of seven including a baby. They got us to our seats very quickly even at the busy Sunday noon hour. The time estimate given by the host and thru this app was spot on which is nice trying to coordinate with the baby. Food was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Some of our party got breakfast items and they looked good. My wife got a BLT and stated it was very good. My burger with the candy bacon was delicious. We ordered our 14 month old a grilled cheese and it looked good. We travel down here once or twice a year from Illinois and will definitely be making this one of our regular stops. read more

We stayed across from the Ruby Slipper Cafe and was looking forward to some good Eggs Benedict. The staff and servers were all excellent. It was busy but the service was good. I got The Peacemaker which lets you pick two different Benedict's. I got the Shrimp Boogaloo and since corned beef hash is one of my favorites with breakfast I got the Corned Beef one too. The Shrimp Boogaloo was different but when in Rome (or Orange Beach) you gotta get shrimp. It was good but too much tomato for me. I was really looking forward to the corned beef hash bene but was really disappointed. The presentation was good but the horseradish cream was way to overpowering. It tasted like it was covered in a spicy mustard. Too bad we couldn't go a second time as I would have tried it again with out the horseradish cream. read more

We arrived after using the app for waitlist. That was the best part of the visit and only part that was good. They seated us very quickly (within 5mins of checking in at desk.) This is a Thursday @ 1245 also. We are a party of 5, they set us at a small table for 4 and added a chair at the end. There were booths open and other tables that would had set us conveniently. Our waitress brought out 3 waters and said oh didn't know there was 5. She left and got two more waters brought them and left again. She came back at 1254 and we asked her if she would take our drink order and that we were ready to order. She brought drinks back and took order and that's the last time we saw her until 145pm. That's because the table behind us had gotten their food 30 mins earlier and they had not seen her either. They got up and went to look for her. She looked at our table and said your food will be ready soon. This is almost one hour after ordering and not even seeing her within that hour. Needless to say we told her to cancel our order and we left. I understand short staff and even being busy but that was neither the case. Waitress around us was taking care of their customers and half the restaurant was empty. We will never return to this one in Orange Beach. Lack of care, service and I'm sure the food would have been lacking also. read more

Our table ordered the mijas and the bananas foster french toast. The mijas were fantastic! Great flavor and the spicy sour cream were delicious! The bananas foster was terrible. First they told me they were out of bananas and I ordered regular French toast. Then the French toast comes out with bananas that were questionable. Strange color and terrible texture. I'm not sure if they were old and frozen and then used or what? Service was just so-so. This was my second visit, and I would return again, and give them another chance. read more

My family has been loyal customers of Ruby Slippers, here in OB for years and have always enjoyed eating here but sadly this most recent time maybe our last time. We arrived and were told to wait 45 mins to be seated, (they don't take reservations) we ended up waiting over an hour with many families the same size as ours, that arrived later, being seated first. Despite the waiting, the food was still good and servers were still sweet. Hopefully they'll get a better handle on the waiting list, suggest a waitlist app that customers can get on sooner, so they know don't have to wait outside standing, and can know how long it'll be before seating. read more

If the restaurant has repeat customers, then the food is good and worth the price. This restaurant really does have a menu to please everyone. Costa Rican breakfast? Eggs Benedict-several choices? By far the worst experience we've ever had at a restaurant, very rude hostess who took us off the waiting list because we wanted inside seating, we had to start our wait over so we should have left then but we heard great things so we wanted to try it. Our waitress acted bothered by us asking for straws, silverware, and syrup for our kids pancakes. They were out of sausage so I I was offered the chorizo on a tiny biscuit and it was raw, undercooked and not edible. We enjoyed our breakfast items. We had beignet and they were just ok. Not the puffy kind we like but not bad. I had biscuits and gravy and hubs had the chicken biscuit and gravy. Both would have been really good but neither of ours was hot. Lukewarm at best and this was in January during the off season.
