    Gulf Shrimp Omelet
    Keta T.

Went in to get this location for breakfast around 11am. Greeted upon entering and seated immediately. Our server Alexandria M was great with suggestions and quick to any issues. I had the gulf shrimp omelette and added a single white chocolate bread pudding pancake. All the good was delicious. The fresh biscuit was delicious as well as the brown butter. The restaurant was clean and chill vibe. Great experience!!!

We made a reservation for a large party, still had excellent service. Normal American diner type of feel. Food was okay. The Costa Rican breakfast had very little meat, but still flavorful. The mimosa flight was delicious. I heard great things about the hot honey chicken biscuit. Would definitely come back.

Absolutely loved everything about my brunch experience here! We came here as a group of 7 and it was just what we were looking for. Something on the menu for everyone, mimosas and bloody marys, affordable prices, etc etc. Our waitress was super nice and efficient. We all ordered drinks and my mimosa with grapefruit juice was great. We ordered French toasts bites for the table which is essentially cinnamon roll bites and it was sooo good. We absolutely devoured it! For my meal I had The Trifecta benny flight. SO ridiculously good. It had 3 of their most popular eggs Benedicts and this was definitely the right option because it was hard to choose only one otherwise. My favorite was the chicken St Charles but the other 2 were super tasty also. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals, and one of my friends has a dairy allergy and they were very accommodating to her.

Despite being a local and a huge fan of Ruby Slipper In New Orleans this is first time I stopped to eat here. While this location lacks the ambiance of the locations in NOLA the food was still very good. I ordered the salmon omelet. While I was disappointed with the omelet itself, I blame myself for ordering it. I prefer wild caught salmon. It really has a much more enjoyable flavor. However, if you don't mind farm raised salmon, this omelet was packed full of Salmon. I was surprised and satiated, though I didn't love the omelet, by the biscuit and grits. I am partial to Gouda cheese grits these were on the plain side but very flavorful nonetheless. I devoured them. My only suggestions are to raise the bar of the ambiance a little to remind us more of NOLA roots. Perhaps music, live or otherwise, would really give this place less of the Waffle House feel. I was also turned off a bit when the bartenders began side work that included refilling some (drinks) I believe by setting the 5 gallon bucket on the bar and refilling container. No one likes to see the food or drinks they consume coming from 5 gallon buckets.

    The Trifecta with one gone!

My husband and I shared the Trificta and it was amazing! My husband is a big eater and there was still plenty of food for the both of us! We also got a side of potatoes with our meal, but they were not good at all. The potatoes were not cooked all the way through, but the trifecta was awesome! I believe it came with chicken, pork, and a fried green tomato eggs Benedict style. Our favorite was the pork.

This was a horse of a different color! Rare! Beautiful! We each had the best breakfast of our lives. The mimosa flight, what can be said? It was perfection! My husband and son decided we should share the peaches and cream beignets and candy bacon, not pictured because we gobbled them up and fought over the last beignet. Sad to say we lost the little one in the war, just kidding, we gave it to him because he is almost a feral teenager and growing. Haha. I had the biscuit and gravy plate with two eggs over easy, the biscuits are the fluffiest you'll find outside of your mamaw's kitchen. Nothing was spared as I hoovered every morsel. I even had a side of fried chicken in hot honey and OH HONEY! I'm from Kentucky and know a thing or two about fried chicken, this was the best! Tender and crispy, not oily! Just *chefs kiss* My husband had the trifecta and wow, that's a lot of food! He loved them all. The creole biscuit was delicious and perfect for brunch. He agreed with me about the fried chicken. Even said his pork biscuit was amazing in its own right. He left so full and happy. Our soon to be teenager had the three pig omelet and aside from the many, many cheese pulls, he left only a scatter of breakfast potatoes on his plate. He boxed those up for later. The mimosa flight was delicious but I have to warn parents, it's tempting for little ones to want to try because it's a rainbow! so pretty, maybe order a juice for the tempted. This will be our new breakfast spot when in town. Thank you for the amazing meal and morning!

    Breakfast margarita

Had an unforgettable meal at their New Orleans spot, so I rolled into this location expecting the same magic. Service? Top-tier. Theo was a multitasking wizard--had me sipping a breakfast margarita and hydrated before I could even blink. I went with the catfish and grits plus a biscuit. It looked like a masterpiece, but the flavor just didn't slap like it did in NOLA. Not bad, just kinda... meh. I had to bust out the salt, pepper, and hot sauce like I was doing my own seasoning audition. The biscuit though? Stellar. They're famous for those for a reason--flaky, buttery, no notes. I'll be back, but next time I'm aiming straight for the pancakes.

Service was great and fast. Our food was flavorful and large portions. I've visited the New Orleans location so I had high expectations. It wasn't as good as that location but a solid choice for breakfast.

    Biscuits & Gravy
    Ian N.

Biscuits and Gravy (5/5): Very good biscuits and tasty gravy with the perfect consistency. I really liked that there were some big sausage crumbles. Eggs felt unnecessary. Bacon was a nice addition. Sweet Heat Chicken & French Toast Bites (4/5): Loved the French toast bites which were crispy and airy. The chicken was fine. Not a huge fan of the strawberry forward sauce though. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

I highly recommend Ruby Slippers. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with hospitality and friendly faces. The food was so good we went back two days in a row while on vacation. I had the hot honey chicken and French toast bites with a side of cheese grits. My partner got the pancakes and sausage. The pancakes were fluffy and good. I highly recommend. I did the mimosa flight and the cranberry and watermelon were my favorites.

We went today for brunch it was so delicious and excellent customer service next time we are in Destin Florida will visit again

Biscuits and Meatball anyone?! Didn't even have the time or effort to break up the sausage. I cut it in half and it was pink!
    Christopher S.

Came here yesterday because we enjoyed the ruby slipper in New Orleans This Destin location is opposite of the food and service. Host was not that inviting. Looks like she didn't want to be there. Our server was great that's the only thing good about the place. The food: I ordered biscuits and gravy and this is what I got. If you look at the picture you can see they gave me a large meatball sized sausage that was undercooked and pink. Gravy was cold. Biscuit was good however but whoever cooked the gravy didn't cook it to temp and didn't break up the sausage. Yummmm nothing like meatballs and biscuits!!!! Won't be back

Weekends seem to be busy, so be prepared to wait a little. You can call ahead and get on their waiting list, they don't take reservations. Our servers were wonderful both times. First time we went I ordered the Maque Choux Benedict. The base was beautiful Golden brown Green Tomatoes instead of English muffin, delicious Crab cakes on top of that, topped off with poached eggs, scratch made maque choux, Creole Hollandaise, Andouille sausage, green onions and dusted with paprika. My sister got the Crawfish Egg-toufee. It also had the fried green tomatoes as the base, topped with Bacon, poached eggs, Creole Hollandaise, Crawfish and green onion. Both dishes were delicious. The Maque Choux Benedict was so good I devoured the entire dish. It's a really filling dish so it was perfect before the hike my sister and I went on. Second time around I ended up getting the Lobster gouda grits and my sister got Avocado toast with Lobster. The grits was delicious, just the right amount of spice and creamy. It's a must try. My sister enjoyed her dish as well. All in all we had a great experience and will definitely return on our next visit.

On the main road here in Destin…read more The music sounds clubby inside. Considered the crab croissant, but the pics on here didn't look so good and the croissant didn't look golden brown or flaky, like I tend to favor. We ordered the spicy carb scramble, cup of coconut grits, iced coffee, less whipped cream, jerk chicken basket, island burger and Blue Mahoe beer. $51.71 for everything except the island burger and the Blue Mahoe beer. The iced coffee comes topped with whipped cream, it's mixed with chocolate. It's obviously very chocolatey as a result of the added chocolate. The Blue Mahoe beer is made with mango, it's different for sure. The base of the beer tastes like a Blue Moon, maybe. Shows mango cart on the cocktail menu, no idea what a mango cart means though. Service was good, although our waitress seemed like she might be new since she didn't know the specifics of the menu items. Not sure why I was thinking the jerk chicken would not be on the bone, so that made it a bit messier than planned. The island burger is spicy, my FIL enjoyed it. The spicy crab scramble was good. Could have better jam to go with the toast, the grape jelly didn't look anything like a jelly and was quite runny for my toast at least. The mixed berry was a bit thicker for spreading. The coconut grit was quite creamy, just a very subtle coconut flavor. The jerk chicken sauce is super flavorful and quite good. The cabbage slaw on the side was bland and seemed like an afterthought to me. The fries were partly over fried and as if the oil had saturated into a few of the fries to make them look translucent even. Still overall a nice lunch.
