This is one of my favorite places that I like to come hideout at. This cute restaurant is in an area where there is a lot to do. So while my husband and daughter are at the game store I get to come here and have a few beers or cocktails and some good food while I wait. We loved this place !!! We were in for a wrestling tournament at Osh Kosh and I yelp searched restaurants near us and this gem popped up !! I couldn't get thru on the phone so I Facebook messaged them about reservations for a large party and they were quick in response . We had less people then we commutes to since the weather was a little icy but they were ok with it . The cheese curds .... oh my are they the best I have eaten !! The salads and sandwiches are all more than you can explain in this review ! It's a very cute brick inside restaurant. Our server was amazing and didn't get flustered or out of sorts at all . We had about 18 of us I think and she was A+ with us all !! We will for sure recommend this place to anyone who may ask what we are while in Osh Kosh ! .25 wing Wednesday's!!! They are fabulous, perfectly cooked, great sauces. Fast, friendly service-very knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. Great menu, and awesome atmosphere. I have given this place a try for about 10 times now and after last night decided to give them a review. The food is actually pretty good, however, the service is continually POOR. We waited 20 minutes before we were acknowledged by the server and then it took another 20 minutes for our drinks. We ordered only 3 food items and she forgot one. Never came back to check on us. Took another 40 minutes to get the 3rd item. I would love to say this is a one time issue, but after several visits to this place this seems to be the norm. The atmosphere is nice, the beer selection is good and there are several TV's in case you want to watch a game, just be prepared for poor service. read more

Finally made it back to see if our last less-than-desirable experience was a fluke or not and it was :) we had dinner at Ruby Owl on a busy Saturday night and our experience certainly had improved. They did their best to keep tables moving and although they were packed, the service was pretty good. Still in love with the aesthetics of Ruby Owl and the food is pretty great as well! Had a few different things here. All great. Robust beer offerings. Curds are delicious. Staff has always been friendly.

If you're from out of town avoid this place at all cost. Unless you are ok with poor service and waiting an extended time for your order. Placed my order just before 8pm and 40 minutes later we are still waiting for our food with no explanation from our server for the wait. Only checked on once in that 40 minute timeframe and that wasn't until I told a different server I wanted to cancel my order because I was tired of waiting. Manager of the establishment made no attempt to make it right and was rude. It's a shame because the food looked great. read more

We went there for lunch on Saturday. Nice selection of beer on tap. They also carry a sour beer which is my favorite. We had the skirt streak sandwich both my husband and I. We both said the meat should of been seasoned. Note it was served on garlic bread which tasted great but I would rather the meat had the flavor. We also ordered the fry avocado, excellent they melted in our mouth. It was a nice clean place with TVs and the waitress was very nice. read more

This place is the best restaurant in Oshkosh. They have a waitress named Becca that will make any experience you have there a fun one. A lot of people in the bar and restaurant business act as though they are entitled to your tips regardless of their performance. Half of serving and bartending is entertaining the customers. Becca is the kind of waitress that makes the experience worth the drive from Milwaukee. She's a professional in every sense of the word. Take it from the guy that eats out twice a day. We went to this place last night. My girlfriend and I stopped by for a beer. My girlfriend doesn't usually drink beer and asked the bartender for a few samples of different stouts. After she tried three samples, she was told that she was doing sample abuse. We were both stunned. WTF? We will not be returning and we don't recommend this place to anyone. I ate there yesterday with my family and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Ashley was a very accommodating and engaging server with a bubbly personality. The cheese curds were light, fluffy, crispy, and just the right amount of frying. The breading wasn't thick and didn't overcome the taste of the cheese. Great selection of drinks and spirits. I myself really enjoyed the 5oz tasting glasses to try different drinks. The Drekker Raspberry/Chocolate Sour Ale was awesome. I also enjoyed watching Jurassic Park lost world and UFC on their 6 or so tv screens on the bar side wall. Also they had hand sanitizers on every table which is cool. I had their Flank Steak Sandwich w/ mushrooms and onions-it was juicy goodness. Will come back next time I find myself in Oshkosh! read more

We met a couple of friends here who eat at Ruby Owl every week. When we walked in I was surprised by how busy it was and how hip it looked with it's exposed brick and light atmosphere. Idk why I was surprised. I think I was expecting a hole in the wall bar. It most def was not that. Food: We both got the chicken wings as it was a Wednesday night and wings were 25 cents each! Max order of 18 wings. The waitress told us they were going to run out soon and it was only 6p so make sure to head there early if you're thinking of going on a Wed for wings. Plenty of sauces to choose from and option for bone in and boneless. We got bone-in (of course, if you get boneless who even are you ;)) and it was really good. I got a side order of avocado fries which were delish, and my friend gave me some of her sweet potato waffle fries and those, too, were delish. Actually, my fave. So.good. It did come with this cumin, turmeric dipping sauce that I wasn't a fan of. (I love cumin and turmeric. I'm Indian. But I would have rather had some good ole ranch dressin). My friend also let me taste her burger - she's a great friend - and that was soooooo good, juicy, medium well, my mouth is salivating. I almost wished I had ordered that instead. Plenty, and I mean PLENTY, of beer options. I got a Christmas Ale, you know with it being so close to Christmas and all. I didn't realize the cost until after we got the bill but it was like $10 but don't worry, my husband got some kind of craft beer and it was only $5. Service was excellent. We went around 6:30/7:00 on a Saturday night and had to wait for a table and no spots available at the bar, but it was NCAA playoff time. I ordered the veggie burger and didn't care for it, but the fries were seasoned and good. My friend had the Chicken Gyro which looked good and I would get if I go again. We heard the Avocado fries were good so we ordered an appetizer of this and I thought it was okay. They have 30 beers on tap which is impressive if you're a beer drinker. Stopped in on a Friday night before heading over to the Oshkosh Opera house. Got there around 5:45 and had a 25 minute wait. They don't have a great system of catching people waiting but we were added to the list within 5 minutes of waiting. Lots of great beer choice on tap. I had the Szechuan Chicken Sandwich with fries and it was so good! The pickled carrots on top where crispy and not over powering. My friend had a burger and coleslaw. Her burger was perfectly cooked. I have been to this place I believe 5 times now and it is great every-time, a bit busy so be warned if you show up around dinner time on certain days you will be waiting. Decided to check it out at the last minute as initially was going to do Mexican but the new establishment that replaced Lara's Tortilla Flats had very bad reviews so we changed plans and came to Ruby Owl. The menu is extremely pretentious and way over priced. Very limited selection of hard liquor and only 2 ciders. Staff very unresponsive to feedback.
