I've been to Ruby Buffet for quite a long time for my family gatherings every time they come to visit me and I am very please with the great food and atmosphere that Ruby brings. Food is always fresh and buffets are always fill with lots of quality foods ranging from fried foods, seafoods, salads, usual Chinese noodles and fried rice to ice creams! Highly recommended this buffet as it is affordable for families as well as quick hangouts spot with friends to catch up on quality food at reasonable price!

We went here because some recommended it, and we weren't disappointed. The food was bountiful, it felt like an endless supply of crawfish and other seafood options that many of the patrons were enjoying. I wanted to try the sushi, but I ran out of room... but I did try the seafood boil which I thought was well seasoned, the crab which was very hard to break and not worth my time. The clam mix was tasty, so was the salt and pepper shrimp, I wish they did this to squid. The dessert table was small, and offered very little selection.. some fresh fruit, some pastry's, nothin I would be in a rush to go back to eat... the the warm selection. Was quite enjoyable

the food was really good. Ruby Buffet meets the standards when looking for a buffet near Philly. The food is nice and there is a fine variety and the service was fine as well. There are definitely better buffets elsewhere, but it was nice eating some Chinese cuisine. Overall, this was an okay place to dine for an Asian buffet. go here now.

Like most Chinese Buffets, there are good dishes, and there are some mediocre dishes served here. The BBQ ribs and the crabs are good. The broccoli chicken and the General Tso's chicken were not as flavorful. Staff was attentive to our needs. They will bring you a crab cracker if needed. So if you don't have time to drive into Philly Chinatown and having to sit down and wait, also happens to be in the area, this place may be suitable if you're in a hurry.

It was your typical Buffett. The only reason I came is because my daughter wanted to go and it was quick service and a big enough selection for her pickiness. I arrived a little after 3pm and was told it was dinner time. I paid 49 for 3 people (2 adults 1 child). Pros: it wasn't packed. We were seated fast. If you have a picky eater there's options. The mussels and egg rolls were really good. Cons: some of the food was bland. Like the crab legs initially were bland but when you got to the bottom of the same crab leg (odd) there was more seasoning. The pineapples didn't taste good at all and I love pineapples. It ranged from tasting sour to bland non taste sweet. I was expecting more like hibachi maybe being a choice. As soon as I was at my last piece of food on my first plate someone came up to take it away. It was as if they were watching like a hawk and rushing for your table.

It's good chinese buffet compared with other brands, but it was difficult to ask for drinks. Area was fine, and food was nice in my opinion.

Unfortunately the experience at pickup wasn't the best. I asked if they had included utensils and the gentleman at the counter said no. I asked for some since I was bringing the food back to my hotel and wouldn't have anything to eat with. He was pretty dismissive and didn't seem to want to give me anything. (I also didn't get any napkins.) Just a little strange when ordering takeout, utensils should be included right? Or at the very least be readily given out when requested? He begrudgingly gave me 2 pairs of chopsticks and a fork, said he ran out of spoons. I didn't notice the lack of napkins until I got back. Now for the food. We ordered dan dan noodles, a chicken lo mein, and Taiwanese minced pork rice. The noodle dishes were decent but the lo mein was a bit too al dente for our liking...especially for our young son. Didn't get a chance to eat the rice because we were all too full from the noodles. Appreciate the generous portions at least. Will see if the rice will make it home safely with us and reheats well. Can't speak on the ambience. Wasn't in there long enough to really look around. Will I order from them again or try in person in the future? I'm not sure. I wasn't blown away by the food or service so...

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. Some other favorites were the black pepper chicken and the long hot chicken, if you enjoy spice. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

Lazy Sunday after an unsuccessful Memorial Day beach weekend. It was cold and rainy all weekend but…read morewe decided to hit up some beef noodle soup place to warm up. On this cold almost summer day, Nan Zhou was hustling and bustling. Separate parties at the same round table and clients coming in and out of the restaurant facade. Warm lighting and active banter. I received my bowl of beef noodle soup was pretty satisfied. Beef was tender with flavorful bites of fattiness. Somehow, the meat tastes beefier than beef. The cilantro had potent herbaceous flavor with some spinach(?) and mustard greens. Noodles were pleasantly chewy w variation in texture. Lowkey, everything else was alright. I like to be nice so I'll say no more. Cucumbers were fine

This place was packed, which is always a good sign, and even with that the staff stayed super prompt and professional. The house special was my favorite. I got it with the knife-cut noodles and it was perfect with the broth. The noodles had that slightly uneven, chewy texture that really holds onto the soup. I never thought I'd be the type to talk about "mouthfeel" but here we are. The broth itself was rich and savory with a deep beef flavor, a little bit of oil on top that adds body without feeling too heavy. It's that classic, comforting Chinese beef noodle soup done really well. I added a braised egg, which had great flavor soaked into it, though it was served cold, which threw me off a bit. The mapo tofu with noodles was also really solid. It had that signature spicy, numbing kick from the Sichuan peppercorns, balanced with a savory, slightly salty sauce. The tofu was soft and silky, and mixing it with the noodles made it extra satisfying. It's got some heat but not overwhelming, just enough to keep you going back for another bite. The shrimp stir fry was lighter but still flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, tender with a slight snap, and the sauce leaned more on the savory side with a mild sweetness. It felt like a nice balance alongside the heavier noodle dishes. Couple practical things: it's cash only, but there's an ATM right by the seating area which makes it easy. And the portions are generous for the price, so it feels like a really good deal. Overall, super satisfying spot. Busy, a little chaotic, but the food absolutely delivers. Definitely a go-to if you're craving hand-pulled noodles.

However, I found that the meal didn't live up to what I remembered at the UCity Han Dynasty or the Sichuan food I've had at other spots. My partner and I ordered the dan dan noodles and double cooked pork belly to share, our longtime regular order. The portions were generous and prices were affordable, but both dishes fell short in some ways. The dan dan noodle sauce was mostly sesame-based with little of the chili heat I remembered, and there was only a bit of the ground pork topping. It left me wondering whether they hold off on the spice at this location due to the clientele, whether they changed the recipe, or whether it was just an off day. The pork in the double cooked pork was overcooked and tough, and the dish didn't have enough of the veggie components (leeks and peppers) to balance it out. Another minor nitpick - there was a World Cup game going on while we ate and the multiple downstairs TVs had the game on. The second floor where we were seated also had a nice big TV, yet it seemed to be left on a screensaver slideshow of random landscape photos. Would have been nice to watch the game! I was overall left feeling pretty meh about the meal. I'd give the UCity location another shot, but don't think I'd come back to the Old City one.
