Great experience. I think I'd like going in a larger party sometime so can order a bunch of small items and everyone share. The menu is large with a lot of options. Almost too many to pick from!! They have a vegan menu but ask the server. There are items not on that menu they can swap out the protein for tofu or setian

Came in for a few quick dim sum baskets on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar, though the dining room and pick up orders were very busy. Dining area is one large room divided from the bar. Beef dumplings savory and very filled inside, 6 per order. The shrimp siu mai were much larger than expected! Crystal shrimp dumpling decent. Pork and leek dumpling also tasty with spinach, and 3 per order. Price pretty good for the portion sizing here. Some of the noodle dishes coming out from the kitchen also seemed large. Thanks

I have been here several times and my usual is the Spicy Pork Soup Dumplings. This time, we got the sticky rice in banana leaf, egg custard bao and spicy pork bao in addition to the spicy pork soup dumplings and everything was phenomenal! My favorite of the bunch was the sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf - I had it with the chilli oil and it was such a satisfying meal in itself. I think it would be great if you are under the weather and want a pick me up. The egg custard bao was really delicious as well. I wasn't a fan of the spicy pork bao buns - the filling was too less and at the same time the chunks of pork were too big. My only concern is that the floor was really dirty (which I only noticed at the end of our dinner) and I don't think I will want to come back here to eat again.

The dim sum here was a miss for me. It still tastes like Chinese food, but having tried dim sum in many places before, I felt that the food here was lacking in flavor. They also stopped making a good portion of the dishes that they show in the photo menu. The only ones they still offer are listed in the paper ordering menu, which was disappointing because we wanted several dishes shown on the photo menu. My favorite dish would be their pork soup dumplings. The egg tarts weren't very crispy and the pickled garlic cucumber didn't taste as good. The cucumbers also had some numbing spice, which might not be for everyone. Overall, it's not a restaurant I'd be craving to visit again. The staff was kind though! Decor looked nice and the restaurant was clean. They do take credit card.

Ordered takeout from here recently and I really enjoyed the dry pot style fish - it comes with a small carton of rice and a level 2 is still fairly mild in terms of spice level. Their spiciness scale is not like Han Dynasty, where even a level 1 is painful sometimes haha! The beef chow fun was honestly not great. It was extremely salty and I had a sneaking suspicion it would be even at first glance because the noodles were so dark in color. I would not recommend getting this dish here - consider one of the Cantonese spots in Chinatown like M Kee for chow fun. I dined in once several years ago and remember thinking it was a nice casual spot. Will have to return to try some of their other entrees!

Food: While the dishes were well-cooked, the flavors were a bit lacking. The sticky rice, chicken feet, ribs, scallion rolls, and wontons were decent, but they didn't quite stand out. Cost: The prices were reasonable, especially considering the large portion sizes. Ended up taking the rest back home for later! Environment: The restaurant was spacious and could accommodate large groups. However, the ambiance was a bit generic and lacked character. Service: The service was efficient and the food came out quickly. Uniqueness: While the dim sum was decent, it didn't offer anything particularly unique or innovative. It's an okay choice for a quick and affordable dim sum meal however probably not the first place I would go visit if I'm in the area again and craving some dim sum.

Really food dumplings. The hot and spicy ones were the best. Service was on point. Food came out fast. Extensive menu to choose from. Nice and clean inside. I recommend if you're in the area.

Came here for restaurant week with a group of friends and we were all overly stuffed and satisfied. 100% would return again! Nothing special inside with the decor but a decent size venue with casual dress code. Our waitress was very kind and friendly! The amount of food you get for $45 is insane! I ordered pork soup dumplings for my first course, Mongolian beef for my second and vegetable fried rice for my third course. They gave me 8 pieces of pork soup dumplings! A bit doughy, but the flavor was on point especially when you added some chili oil. The Mongolian beef was okay, but my friend's general tso chicken receives a 10/10. The veggie fried rice looked simple, but it was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The dan dan noodles is a must. Spicy, porky and addicting! We were all so full, but couldn't stop picking at our foods. We each had leftovers, so you definitely get your moneys worth. Great spot! Winners were pork soup dumplings, general tso chicken, dan dan noodles and veggie fried rice! Skip the chicken and mushroom dumpling, Mongolian beef, shrimp typhoon and chicken lo mein.

Very clean, seated immediately. Food arrived so fast. The vegetable lo mein was very flavorful. Lots of broccoli cooked perfectly. My hubby had the General Tso's chicken and he said it was very good. It also had lots of walnuts in it, which I thought was a great idea. More protein and a little crunch!

They provide you with a thorough menu with pictures and you mark which options you'd like. The service is speedy and friendly. Thee staff is fast about removing and bringing plates. The restaurant is rather small/tight, so depending on when you come, you may need to wait a little bit or eat at the bar. This place is a straight-up dim sum and dumpling situation, and it delivers hard. We ordered way too much food, which I maintain was the correct decision. The spread: house special roast pork bun (pillowy, porky, perfect), pan-fried dumplings (crispy bottoms, juicy inside -- the way it should be), soup dumplings (golden, delicate, dangerous if you're impatient), scallion pancakes (flaky, savory, we did not share these equally), spring rolls (classic, crispy, no notes), and honestly some other stuff I've already forgotten because by that point we were deep in a dim sum fugue state. We finished almost all of it. Almost. We tried. And the price? An absolute steal. The kind of meal where you check the bill twice because you're sure something's missing. If you're in Philly and you want dumplings done right in a no-fuss spot that punches way above its weight, Nom Wah is the answer.

I managed to get in a visit to Ocean Harbor before I moved from Philly and I'm so glad I did…read more Everyone I've talked to about cart dim sum said that this was the place to go and it was very true. I haven't had proper dim sum since I was about 10 years old at the Imperial Inn (RIP) so I was really excited, and Ocean Harbor did not disappoint. We came at about 11 AM on a Sunday and were seated immediately even with a large party. The food started immediately, and it would probably be easier to say what we didn't eat than what we did! Some highlights for me (and I apologize for not knowing the proper Chinese names): -A steamed pork and shrimp dumpling sealed horizontally on the top. Definitely different than siu mai, and soooo deliciously tender and juicy. Really good portion size too. -Chow fun. It had that amazing wok-fried taste, and was perfectly chewy. -Egg tarts, just barely set, collapsing into your mouth when you bite them. -Others have mentioned it, but the fried shrimp green rice roll. I'm really not a huge fan of shellfish, but this was so flavorful. -I'm always going to love the chance to have some sesame balls, and these were no exception. Audibly crispy on the outside with red bean paste and wonderfully soft glutinous rice flour on the inside. -Honorable mention to the coconut jelly, which I was too full to eat but my friends crowned with the ultimate compliment of "not too sweet." Ultimately, Ocean Harbor blew past my expectations especially after reading these reviews. You aren't going for the service; there aren't waiters here. Nevertheless, I definitely wouldn't describe anyone as rude, and the pricing was very reasonable, coming out to about $20 per person for a table of seven (not including tip). I can't wait to go back.

Food is ok, has certainly decreased in quality after COVID and is more expensive. There are other dim sum places within a few blocks that are much better quality. As others have said, the situation with their staff demanding 15-20% tip has made it so I will not come here again. A tip is not legally required. It is only legally required to cover the cost of your food as stated on the bill. I think the BBB needs to be contacted to investigate their practices surrounding tips and almost harassing customers into paying more than they wish. In addition, they have loud trucks every day disrupting the quiet street behind. Many elderly live there and are woken up by the loud beeping from the truck alarms, as well as trash truck coming VERY early and waking up residents. No consideration for those who live right there. I will be contacting the city about this issue as there was a similar problem in Fishtown and now that restaurant is no longer allowed to have trucks outside of reasonable hours disturbing residents. The trucks are also TOO large to safely turn into their loading station and people park their SUVs making the space even smaller. They constantly case a problem with traffic blockages because of the trucks unable to turn into the loading dock.

This place immediately came to mind after I read the reviews, and I ordered takeout tonight. I am very pleased to say that this was an amazing experience! I opted to do fairly simple dim sum, mainly because a restaurant that has "dim sum" in its name should shine in this category. I was able to place my order online, and had the scallion pancake, the pork, soup, dumplings, the chicken and shiitake dumplings, and the shrimp shu mai. The order was prepared, extremely fast, but very attentively. The packaging was thoughtful and protective, without being wasteful. They included a small container of delicious black vinegar/soy for dipping, and some chopsticks. All of the dishes were fantastic! My favorite was probably the shrimp dumplings, and I was happy that it was two for one night. Everything tasted very fresh and well-made. The seasoning was spot on, without being overly salty. My only regret was that after going to pick these up, I noted that the inside of the establishment appeared to be quite quaint and comfortable, and would definitely recommend that people check this place out for dine in options. The staff were very friendly, and made the pick up experience a positive one. So, if you're in the area and really want to have some dim sum, I would definitely recommend this place. I will most definitely be back in the future!!

There were some of the usual downsides to carts--some items were lukewarm (particularly non-steamed items) and the selection was occasionally limited (there were no vegetables or rice rolls [cheong fun] on the carts, so we asked for them off the menu). As other commenters have noted, it was rather salty too. That said, the flavor was excellent. Har gao were some of the best I've had in a while, bean curd was also a highlight. Spareribs, chicken feet, and fried vegetables were standard (good and unexceptional), as were the desserts. Some plates of clams unexpectedly appeared and were tasty though a bit sauce-heavy. I imagine the dim sum might be better some other places that _don't_ have carts, but hey, there's a certain fun nostalgia.

I regrettably went on Valentines with my boyfriend after the Barnes. My food was so bad that my mood was negatively impacted (seriously). Stay away from any of the soups/ramens, the broth is exactly the same flavorless base for every soup. I'd stick with appetizers. I got the worst thing I've ever ordered at a restaurant here: Tom Kha Seafood Soup, it was supposed to be spicy but it was just sweet with no flavor at all. Nothing like any other Asian spicy seafood soups I've had before, lacking any normal amount of seafood (hardly any), and weird uncooked veggies, like huge sliced raw tomato bits. I ate the small amount of seafood out of it and left the rest. It was hardly edible. The scallion pancakes were also the most underwhelming I've ever had. I usually fight for the last piece but me and my boyfriend left half of it uneaten. No flavor or crisp. Seemed frozen and reheated, not fresh. The soup dumplings were the only good thing we ordered and they were just fine, nothing amazing. Additionally, there was a very small amount of them to our order. The Vietnamese beef soup was ok but very below average, nothing good that I'd recommend ordering, same bland broth. I really wanted to like this place and I usually never give out one star reviews, but it was truly bad and the ratings on it are clearly inflated and not reflective of its food quality. Small amounts of bad food for a price you could get much better things elsewhere. I'd rather have gone to Wawa than gone here (and I did after because I was still hungry).
