    Zhajiang Noodles. Must have!
    sunny L.

Great service with delicious and authentic Chinese. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and took the time to explain the menu. We went with their recommendations and got the freshly made noodle dishes. We'll be back for more and try other dishes on the menu.

We have passed this restaurant a few times and looked up their website and saw quite a few Chinese dishes and appetizers that we like, finally visited today. Well, when the menu come up, none of the things we want were there and they said they changed menus a while ago. Well ended up ordered some noodles and one appetizer and all of them tasted pretty good. There weren't many people there so the service is pretty fast as well.

Place is very clean . Out side is old but inside is very modern . server is nice. Also tea is very nice. ( some kind of flower tastes a little) but food ... I looked menu not many choice. usually Chinese restaurant has a lot of choice. But here is more like old cafe at Hong Kong... . I said to my partner may be just leave but got tea it was good decide to stay. Order ja ja noodle and bao and wonton noodle. Jana is recommend but ok taste. Wonton is very fresh but for the price I think another place better. Bao is also ok. I'm not recommend to my friend but tourist who like neat place to eat at Chinatown may be her is place...

We split a lemon tea drink and was given some steamed edemame on the house since the dishes could take a little long to prepare. The crispy fish with ground pork was cooked to perfection, crispy and tasty without being overwhelming (side bowls of rice helped tremendously with that) The sautéed eggplant with potato and bell peppers was quite good, all very authentic, I hear since I haven't been to northeast china but we've been to places that serve north east Chinese dishes. It was a bit rainy early autumn weather on a Thursday evening so it wasn't too busy so service was great. Nice northern Chinese murals with the opera masks, a very good vibe to eat. Can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu including the dim sum!

All the soups had little to no flavor i'd say water soup basically and the general tsos chicken taste like sweet and sour and was were light in taste. presentation of food looked good but i was disappointed in the flavor of everything only thing that was good was the shrimp spring roll.

This restaurant is a true treasure for anyone craving authentic Chinese food. Every dish we tried was bursting with rich, traditional flavors and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients--you can truly taste the difference. The portions were generous, perfect for sharing family-style, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is spacious and immaculately clean. The ambience is calm and inviting--an ideal place to enjoy an unrushed meal with family or friends. You feel welcomed the moment you step in, and even more so when the owner personally comes out to greet you with warmth and sincerity. To our surprise, we discovered that the owner, Chef Alex Zhong, is no ordinary chef--he's the winner of the International Chinese Culinary Competition in New York! Watch Chef Zhong's stunning performance in the competition here: https://tinyurl.com/mw7j96cc No wonder the dishes were so masterfully crafted--his passion and expertise shine through in every bite. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a real taste of China and a dining experience that feels both thoughtful and generous. We'll definitely be back!

    地三鲜, 锅包肉

Claimed to be authentic Chinese food from the Northeastern region but even the classic dishes are far from that. 地三鲜 (eggplant, Potao, green pepper) is quite deviant from what the look and taste should be, especially the eggplant. 锅包肉(sweet and sour pork) is too sweet and the color is too red than yellow which it is supposed to be like. As a restaurant located in Chinatown, if it primarily wants to attract non Chinese eaters, it should not claim itself offering authentic Chinese cuisine. It is a good way to fool non-Chinese eaters. Don't say there are variant ways to cook the classic. For those who know what authentic is, it is just disgrace.

    Fish fillet and king oyster.

Amazing service and great food. All the portions are huge and priced well for that portion. All the servers are very kind and friendly!

Food was okay, the restaurant was empty when I got there. I've had better chinese food and portions were relatively small.

On this cold almost summer day, Nan Zhou was hustling and bustling. Separate parties at the same round table and clients coming in and out of the restaurant facade. Warm lighting and active banter. I received my bowl of beef noodle soup was pretty satisfied. Beef was tender with flavorful bites of fattiness. Somehow, the meat tastes beefier than beef. The cilantro had potent herbaceous flavor with some spinach(?) and mustard greens. Noodles were pleasantly chewy w variation in texture. Lowkey, everything else was alright. I like to be nice so I'll say no more. Cucumbers were fine

This place was packed, which is always a good sign, and even with that the staff stayed super prompt and professional. The house special was my favorite. I got it with the knife-cut noodles and it was perfect with the broth. The noodles had that slightly uneven, chewy texture that really holds onto the soup. I never thought I'd be the type to talk about "mouthfeel" but here we are. The broth itself was rich and savory with a deep beef flavor, a little bit of oil on top that adds body without feeling too heavy. It's that classic, comforting Chinese beef noodle soup done really well. I added a braised egg, which had great flavor soaked into it, though it was served cold, which threw me off a bit. The mapo tofu with noodles was also really solid. It had that signature spicy, numbing kick from the Sichuan peppercorns, balanced with a savory, slightly salty sauce. The tofu was soft and silky, and mixing it with the noodles made it extra satisfying. It's got some heat but not overwhelming, just enough to keep you going back for another bite. The shrimp stir fry was lighter but still flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, tender with a slight snap, and the sauce leaned more on the savory side with a mild sweetness. It felt like a nice balance alongside the heavier noodle dishes. Couple practical things: it's cash only, but there's an ATM right by the seating area which makes it easy. And the portions are generous for the price, so it feels like a really good deal. Overall, super satisfying spot. Busy, a little chaotic, but the food absolutely delivers. Definitely a go-to if you're craving hand-pulled noodles.

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. Some other favorites were the black pepper chicken and the long hot chicken, if you enjoy spice. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

ATMOSPHERE: Intimate spot with a small loft, soft music and big windows for people watching. Takeout and deliveries seemed to be the majority of the business. RESERVATIONS: Not needed on this particular Monday night. PARKING: Street or garage. MENU: Sichuan & Taiwanese dishes. No dim sum. BEVERAGE: Lychee Martini Perfectly chilled and balanced, complete with a whole lychee garnish. FOOD: Dan Dan Noodles We got it plain but proteins were available. Thicker noodles coated in a thick peanut-flavored sauce with a little kick of heat. Very good but I'd definitely add either chicken or tofu to break up the carbs. Dry Pot Dish Served in a steel wok, we opted for chicken which was super tender. Very flavorful dish but it wasn't presented sizzling as the menu stated. Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup If you're a ramen fan and want something different, I think you'll love this as much as I did. A generous amount of thick noodles (available hand-ripped flat noodles are a $1 option), chunky slices of tender and fatty beef swimming in a savory and slightly sour dark-hued broth. Forgot to nix the cilantro but it wasn't overly loaded. Total yum. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and friendly. Male server was knowledgeable but there was no follow up. OVERALL: A very enjoyable alternative to traditional Asian cuisine.
