Fried Vegetable Roll / 炸素春卷 (中)

Owners have changed as the quality of food is not as good. It is similar to regular Chinese take out, at least what I had with a friend. The price is reasonable for what you pay. Dim sum is now available all day rather than during the day only.

Cheung fun is not good because it is too thick. Pork shumai is the best. Hargow is not good either, same with beef tripe. The rest is normal. Service is kinda slow, took them forever to bring out the cheung fun.

Durian pastry - my sister loves it but I cannot stand the durian smell lol

I don't play when it comes to this place. Every single time I'm in Chinatown for brunch this is my go to for dim sum. I moved away two years ago and came back to visit and I had to cleared out my schedule for brunch for this place. The service and cart ladies are so quick and nice always offering dishes on their carts. I only come here on weekends when they have the cart ladies (the only way to eat true dim sum) but I'm sure they offer it all the time on the menu. I love their shrimp balls, chicken feet, pork ribs, tripe and intestines. But don't let it defer you, they still offer like general tso, fried rice, noodles and stir fry for friends and family that don't eat dim sum.

Chinese food at Philly We took out dim sums for late lunch. The restaurant was next to Sang kee. We had shrimp rice roll, eggplant stuffed shrimp, pepper stuffed shrimp, sticky rice and taro bun. My favorite was the sticky rice and the purple taro bun. The dim sums weren't not too salty and tasted great!

This place is great if you're missing a Chinese-style family meal or dimsum because they have both! We went after my sister's graduation and luckily the restaurant was not full so we were able to get seated immediately and the dimsum carts came up to us pretty fast. We tried their eggplant stuffed with shrimp and everyone in my family really loved that dimsum item. We also ordered some of our family favorites (clams in black bean sauce, lobster stir fried with scallion and ginger) and they were delicious. The restaurant itself is your typical Asian restaurant with white table cloths and Chinese decorations. Overall my family really likes this restaurant and we will be coming back next time we're in the area!

Pros: 1) Clean, spacious restaurant with plenty of seating, located on 9th street next to Sang Kee and close to the entrance to I95. 2) lots of choices for Dim sum with carts circulating constantly 3) stir fried veggies; chicken feet in black bean sauce, curry squid, pineapple buns Cons: 1) Items can be lukewarm 2) Some items are less than flavorful (shrimp shumai; Crystal shrimp dumpling, for example, were full of shrimp but, to me, could have used some flavor infusion), congee was just so-so

Under new management! The food was better than I remembered and we went on a weekday. The dim sum cart is still alive and well at this location. The shrimp shumai and the stuffed peppers were my favorite. I would recommend this place and they do the credit card with a surcharge.

Nice selection of dim sum dishes to choose from. Many bun, shumai, and fried specialties. I was happy to see some favorites, and also was served some extra light dessert items. Staff inside is very nice, and was welcoming. Classic interior and menu. Most items were steamed or fried nicely, and had good flavors. Come here with friends for tasty meal.

Was seated immediately on a Saturday at 11am and was surprised the place still wasn't full. Carts were already moving and we were lucky to grab a few of the staples right off the bat. Some of the other classics (churn fun/shrimp roll and har gow/shrimp dumpling) took forever to come out of the kitchen, and it seemed like the waitress was doing her best to take individual orders and run them out to each table. It did seem like everyone was waiting for the same things to come out, and we ended up leaving instead of waiting for more carts to come out. All in all, pretty average dim sum place to come get your fill. Prices were affordable for the relatively small portion sizes, though I would definitely consider exploring the numerous other dim sum places in the town as well.

Traditional Cantonese Dim Sum and seafood place with old-style round table seating and dim sum carts. Staff do speak mandarin. Ordered many dim sum dishes. Chicken feet: tastes standard. Could use a bit more sauce. Daikon cake: a bit too much starch in the cake, not enough daikon. Sear was good. BBQ Pork Bun: too little pork inside, but that was typical for most dim sum places in America. Preserved eggs and pork congee: obviously added ground white pepper when cooking, taste was too spicy. Beef meatball: taste was good. Should use some Yuba at the bottom of the meatballs; without Yuba, the meatballs easily stuck to the procelain plate. Also needs Worcestershire sauce for authentic taste. Beef tripes: good taste, not too overwhelming. Beef offals: could be sliced a bit thinner. Sauce had passable taste. Sweet seasame and lotus seed balls: great fry, not too sweet, taste was good. Could use a bit more stuffing in the inside. Shiu Mai: great, good balance of mount of pork, starch and small shrimp used. Ha Gau (Shrimp Dumplings): wrap could be a bit thinner, but the stuffing was excellent. Had several small shrimps inside and tasted fresh. Pork ribs: tasted standard. Sticky Rice and Chicken Lotus Leaf Wraps: when we ordered they seem to have been on the cart for a while, so they tasted a bit cold. But the portion size was quite generous, a lot of chicken dices and half a preserved egg yolk insde, and the taste was rather refreshing, had a bit of zest of lotus leaf in the rice as well. Overall: I would say 3-3.5 stars, the Shiu Mai, Ha Gau and Lotus Leaf Wraps remedied most of the shortcomings of other dim sum dishes. Tea also tasted rather authentic.

Clay pots are very good. I had clams with mushrooms vermicelli clay pot and Grouper fish mushroom with fried tofu clay pot (it comes with fried bean curd skin which I replaced with fried tofu- free of charge ). Everything was perfectly marinaded, not too salty or oily. Very well balanced. Nice slight ginger scent. Clams were FRESH and not frozen.

The restaurant is rather small/tight, so depending on when you come, you may need to wait a little bit or eat at the bar. This place is a straight-up dim sum and dumpling situation, and it delivers hard. We ordered way too much food, which I maintain was the correct decision. The spread: house special roast pork bun (pillowy, porky, perfect), pan-fried dumplings (crispy bottoms, juicy inside -- the way it should be), soup dumplings (golden, delicate, dangerous if you're impatient), scallion pancakes (flaky, savory, we did not share these equally), spring rolls (classic, crispy, no notes), and honestly some other stuff I've already forgotten because by that point we were deep in a dim sum fugue state. We finished almost all of it. Almost. We tried. And the price? An absolute steal. The kind of meal where you check the bill twice because you're sure something's missing. If you're in Philly and you want dumplings done right in a no-fuss spot that punches way above its weight, Nom Wah is the answer.

I managed to get in a visit to Ocean Harbor before I moved from Philly and I'm so glad I did…read more Everyone I've talked to about cart dim sum said that this was the place to go and it was very true. I haven't had proper dim sum since I was about 10 years old at the Imperial Inn (RIP) so I was really excited, and Ocean Harbor did not disappoint. We came at about 11 AM on a Sunday and were seated immediately even with a large party. The food started immediately, and it would probably be easier to say what we didn't eat than what we did! Some highlights for me (and I apologize for not knowing the proper Chinese names): -A steamed pork and shrimp dumpling sealed horizontally on the top. Definitely different than siu mai, and soooo deliciously tender and juicy. Really good portion size too. -Chow fun. It had that amazing wok-fried taste, and was perfectly chewy. -Egg tarts, just barely set, collapsing into your mouth when you bite them. -Others have mentioned it, but the fried shrimp green rice roll. I'm really not a huge fan of shellfish, but this was so flavorful. -I'm always going to love the chance to have some sesame balls, and these were no exception. Audibly crispy on the outside with red bean paste and wonderfully soft glutinous rice flour on the inside. -Honorable mention to the coconut jelly, which I was too full to eat but my friends crowned with the ultimate compliment of "not too sweet." Ultimately, Ocean Harbor blew past my expectations especially after reading these reviews. You aren't going for the service; there aren't waiters here. Nevertheless, I definitely wouldn't describe anyone as rude, and the pricing was very reasonable, coming out to about $20 per person for a table of seven (not including tip). I can't wait to go back.

Food: 2/5 Atmosphere: 1/5…read moreService: 0/5 Came here regularly 15 years ago, but less and less now in recent times. Food is ok, has certainly decreased in quality after COVID and is more expensive. There are other dim sum places within a few blocks that are much better quality. As others have said, the situation with their staff demanding 15-20% tip has made it so I will not come here again. A tip is not legally required. It is only legally required to cover the cost of your food as stated on the bill. I think the BBB needs to be contacted to investigate their practices surrounding tips and almost harassing customers into paying more than they wish. In addition, they have loud trucks every day disrupting the quiet street behind. Many elderly live there and are woken up by the loud beeping from the truck alarms, as well as trash truck coming VERY early and waking up residents. No consideration for those who live right there. I will be contacting the city about this issue as there was a similar problem in Fishtown and now that restaurant is no longer allowed to have trucks outside of reasonable hours disturbing residents. The trucks are also TOO large to safely turn into their loading station and people park their SUVs making the space even smaller. They constantly case a problem with traffic blockages because of the trucks unable to turn into the loading dock.

This place immediately came to mind after I read the reviews, and I ordered takeout tonight. I am very pleased to say that this was an amazing experience! I opted to do fairly simple dim sum, mainly because a restaurant that has "dim sum" in its name should shine in this category. I was able to place my order online, and had the scallion pancake, the pork, soup, dumplings, the chicken and shiitake dumplings, and the shrimp shu mai. The order was prepared, extremely fast, but very attentively. The packaging was thoughtful and protective, without being wasteful. They included a small container of delicious black vinegar/soy for dipping, and some chopsticks. All of the dishes were fantastic! My favorite was probably the shrimp dumplings, and I was happy that it was two for one night. Everything tasted very fresh and well-made. The seasoning was spot on, without being overly salty. My only regret was that after going to pick these up, I noted that the inside of the establishment appeared to be quite quaint and comfortable, and would definitely recommend that people check this place out for dine in options. The staff were very friendly, and made the pick up experience a positive one. So, if you're in the area and really want to have some dim sum, I would definitely recommend this place. I regrettably went on Valentines with my boyfriend after the Barnes. My food was so bad that my mood was negatively impacted (seriously). Stay away from any of the soups/ramens, the broth is exactly the same flavorless base for every soup. I'd stick with appetizers. I got the worst thing I've ever ordered at a restaurant here: Tom Kha Seafood Soup, it was supposed to be spicy but it was just sweet with no flavor at all. Nothing like any other Asian spicy seafood soups I've had before, lacking any normal amount of seafood (hardly any), and weird uncooked veggies, like huge sliced raw tomato bits. I ate the small amount of seafood out of it and left the rest. It was hardly edible. The scallion pancakes were also the most underwhelming I've ever had. I usually fight for the last piece but me and my boyfriend left half of it uneaten. No flavor or crisp. Seemed frozen and reheated, not fresh. The soup dumplings were the only good thing we ordered and they were just fine, nothing amazing. Additionally, there was a very small amount of them to our order. The Vietnamese beef soup was ok but very below average, nothing good that I'd recommend ordering, same bland broth. I really wanted to like this place and I usually never give out one star reviews, but it was truly bad and the ratings on it are clearly inflated and not reflective of its food quality. Small amounts of bad food for a price you could get much better things elsewhere. I'd rather have gone to Wawa than gone here (and I did after because I was still hungry).
