We were looking for a new place to take our dry cleaning and alterations here in the Charlotte / Fort Mill area. A quick check of reviews posted on-line had us check out Ruby's Alterations & Cleaners on Carowinds Boulevard. It didn't take long to see why Ruby has so many great reviews on-line. We quickly found that her prices are the best that we have found anywhere close-by, and she offers so many services at one location. Ruby truly cares about customer service and does everything she can to please her customers. Several times when we were in her store, we saw her interacting with customers who were having tailoring and alterations work done. Seeing several sewing machines with a couple of her employees sewing away each time that we went in let us know that she has a lot of customers for more than just dry cleaning. It was a pleasure to find such a hard working lady with a great friendly attitude and reasonable prices so close to our home. read more

I have a beautiful African garb that a dear friend gave me as a gift. It needed to be altered and I took it to Ruby. It was my first visit and I was hesitant. I needed the dress altered in two days because I was going out of town for a wedding. Ruby told me that she could have it ready for me. I was surprised and impressed. The alterations were nicely done, and the outfit fit perfectly. What I appreciate the most is that Ruby has great customer relation skills. She does her best to make the customer happy. Since that first visit, I have taken my clothes to Ruby's for cleaning. And my husband has started taking his clothes to Ruby's as well. I was shocked at first when I was asked to pay for services prior to the services being rendered, but if people are not picking up their items, she's not getting paid, and she is running a business. Ruby and her staff are so welcoming and friendly when servicing. The price is less expensive than other places I have reviewed so I came to her for my wedding dress to be hemmed and she happily found other things to fix on my dress that I didn't notice! She even steam cleaned my veil for less than it's priced! I was happy to be able to make payments on my dress while it was getting cleaned and the rest when I picked it up. Ruby recently altered my wedding dress that was originally way too big for me. When I called her to see if she could do it with the time crunch I was in, she was more than willing, and only needed a couple weeks. She even spent extra time keeping the intricate lace detailing at the bottom of the dress. While she stays busy, she's always very pleasant, listens to what you want, and works fast. We LOVE Ruby! Thank you so much Ruby for making our wedding outfits look spectacular. We took about 5-6 different intricate Indian clothing pieces to Ruby, which were very hard to tailor, and she spend alot of time (even altering the outfits with her own hands) to make sure they fit perfectly. Even if the dresses didn't fit perfectly the first time, she made sure to take them back, adjust them, and then re-try the fit until they were perfect (without additional cost). Excellent. TLDR 10/10 I had a show coming up and bought outfits from Demobaza for the first time. Website sizes were not accurate. I needed more room. I brought them to Ruby's and within minutes she knew exactly what I needed and how much room to add. She match my materials need PERFECTLY. I had full range of motion in my jumpsuit and my second pants I also had her alter. She did SO MUCH WORK. I felt I like she should have charged me more for the work she did. read more

Ruby does AMAZING work. I had multiple suits, 8 pairs of pants and even some blue jeans that she worked on. I had planned to get rid of these because they didn't fit and I assumed they couldn't be fixed. I'm so glad I stopped into Ruby's to have them take a look.
