I wasn't sure whether to buy a new computer or to have it fixed, but Alex assured me he could fix it and if there were any issues, I'd have 90 days to bring it back. It seems like at first I would have to wait 2 weeks to get it repaired, but it only took a few days. It has been 3 weeks since it was fixed and so far, no issues. Alex was very helping and I felt like he was honest. Nowadays, honesty is certainly a value that is truly valued! Thank you.

I suggested they use the internal "D" drive, and they said then they'd have to format and back up both drives. So, they call me later and tell me that the bill is $162 ! - which is more than they've ever charged me for anything, ever! And I've been going there for years (Of course, it's always the same thing - "Your hard drive's no good - $125, please!" ) But, this time, hundreds of documents - GONE! My bookmarks (Favorites) - GONE! And, finally ... are you sitting down? My D: Drive is GONE! Thousands of songs - GONE! I am so angry, I can't see straight! I called them again, Their immediate response? "Bring it in, we'll take a look at it." They didn't ask one question, they durn sure didn't apologize - and I'm supposed to break down my computer, pay $14 round trip in a cab, and lug that computer into the shop so they can "fix" what was never broken!?

The person I worked with at LC said he needed parts to replace a broken slider, but he was able to get me my mostly-working phone back that night (after the posted closing time for the store, on a Friday night no less). He called me and had me bring the phone back in a few days later when the missing part was delivered. I had prepared myself for an expensive repair but the cost was so low that I decided to have them put a new battery in my phone as well. Now my phone works better than it has in years. I was "wowed" by the experience I had working with Pro Mac NYC (Jed). I reached out to him regarding issues with my 2010 Macbook Pro. After emailing him, he said I could simply leave it with the doorman. I did, and within 12 hours Jed emailed me regarding exactly what was wrong the the computer, and offered a number of solutions that would allow me to get my baby up and running. Jed was knowledgable and responsive in a way I've rarely seen with any company. I was looking into prices for a SSD and memory to improve my performance, and when asking him questions regarding brands/sizes, he was always responding within minutes. Additionally, Jed was extremely fast; my computer was ready 1 day after the parts arrived at his shop. GO TO JED, you wont regret !

JED'S CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS A SERIOUS UPGRADE!!!!!…read more Called him to talk about my broken MacBook and he began with being receptive (first 30 seconds) but after just ONE minute he became dismissive and rude. When I told him I was hoping for a 1-day to 1 weekend turnaround. He said that I shouldn't worry about the turnaround time of a day or a weekends length since the MacBook had been broken for months anyway. He said I was being "ridiculous" in the most pompous tone he could muster. When I tried to explain that the SAME signs and issues had occurred a year and a half before and was fixed within 1.5 hrs at the Apple Genius Bar or that other techs had listened to me thoroughly and come to similar conclusions that it was in fact the operating system and could be handled within a day. He proceeded to say "Anyway!!!" in a very loud tone (I pulled the phone from my ear at that point) while I was talking, rudely interrupting me and then changing the subject. I looked down at my phone flabbergasted. I do not understand why Jed would think a new customer would EVER continue to use his services with an attitude like that. I disconnected the phone immediately. It lasted a mere 2 minutes!!! Whether my computer could be fixed in a day or a weekend or even a week, I'm open to it all, as long as the end result is a functioning MacBook. He didn't get a chance to know that because he was being obnoxious and unprofessional. As an elite yelper, I do my best to be as detailed and honest as possible. From my experience, I wouldn't even bother with paying for his services, customer service is of TOP PRIORITY and the way he spoke to me (in a mere 2 min phone call at that) was enough to make me disconnect the phone call right away. I've been in contact with a few techs (requesting estimated quotes and turn around times) and this was the ONLY negative incident. I'm still shaking my head at him calling me "ridiculous"!! The purpose of the phone call was to be consulted and informed. NOT disrespected and dismissed. I'm sure there will be a reply from this person. Not sure how they'll try to defend being so rude, but I'm sure an attempt will be made. Please feel free to message me privately for facts and truth.
