I am writing this review - but ended up not having them do a repair. I spilled a full cup of coffee on my Mac. I called Doctor Mac after a friend highly recommended them. I emailed them and had an email exchange, where they assessed the issue and made recommendations that the repair might cost up to $1000 and I should consider replacing it, since it is an older Mac. They were honest and didn't push me to use them. Ended up ordering a new Mac from Apple. If I ever have a problem with an Apple product they will be the first to call. I brought in my Mac which was giving me trouble, I was greeted warmly, the clerk was extremely efficient, I was charged a modest check-in fee, I was given confidence that the problem could be fixed in just a day or two. When I got home a few hours later, there was already a message on my land-line answering machine: "It's fixed, come and get it!" Ecstatic, I went right back and got my Mac, and again the staffers were as friendly and polite as if they'd known me for years. And the Mac was indeed fixed. And fixing it was such a snap that the check-in fee was all that I was charged. In a perfect world ("perfect" other than the fact that one's Mac can still develop a problem), EVERY repair place is like DoctorMac. Just got my Mac back and am super happy with the store, repair, and service people. I have a newish 27in iMac and was some some system speed issues. I brought it over to these guys and the girl who works up front(Hannah) was really nice and attentive. This store is terrific! My computer suddenly died and I was in a total panic. Stupidly I had not backed up my data for 3 months. So I went to Doctor Mac and Brian took a look at the computer. Sadly, it was an old machine and the fault was not repairable. However, Brian rescued the Hard Drive with all my precious data. We discussed computer replacement options, and based on his advice, I ordered a new computer that arrived the following day. Brian advised me what replacement software was available for OS Yosemite and loaded the latest Microsoft Office onto the computer. Thankfully he was also able to transfer all my Hard Drive data to the new computer. Three days after the disaster, I was back in business. I just left DoctorMac a very happy customer. This morning my Macbook Pro could not find its hard drive (there was a folder with a question mark flashing when I booted up the computer). After rebooting several times and a call to Apple support, I realized that the problem would need to be addressed in person. There were no Genius Bar appointments for several days in my area, so i called DoctorMac. Brian, who was on staff today, did some quick trouble-shooting and told me he would call me in a couple of hours with the diagnosis: if it was a loose cable, it could be fixed immediately. If the cable needed to be replaced, it would ship by Monday or Tuesday; if I needed a new hard drive, they could fix it by tomorrow. Less than 2 hours later, Brian called with the good news that the cable had just been dislodged and that he had secured it and that my computer was perfectly fine. The charge for the 1/2 hour service was very low, and best of all, I had my computer back only two hours after I dropped it off! If I had attempted to have my laptop repaired at an Apple Store, it would have taken 2 days to get an appointment, and then they probably would have tried to sell me another cable (guessing based on past experience - any non-software issues tend to end up being very expensive). I am SO happy to have this excellent Mac repair and service store right in my own backyard! read more

If I could rate them a negative star I would. Not only is the service that I called them for not even a tiny bit better, but they charged the highest rate I have ever been charged by any computer service. I have used their in-store service as well as their service in my home - I am absolutely gobsmacked that they are able to get away with slowly walking around my home and charging me an egregious amount of money per hour. First I want to comment on a negative review left by someone here. SHE IS CRAZY! Doesn't get any better than these professionals. I have girls in college and buying a new mac was not an option. I brought a useless mac (10 year old thin mac book) to Macdoctor and they performed a miracle. It took them three days and the mac book works just like a new one today.They are so honest that the first time I used them was for this very same labtop when it was 5 years old. I dropped it and the monitor stopped working. They diagnosed it and realized that the only thing wrong with the monitor was that it disconnected. They re-connected it and charged me ZERO dollar.
