I need help with a mac computer and when I went in on Saturday, July 24, 2021 the owner took my computer and started navigating into the issue. He was very rude and kept saying this is a science project and I am closing at 2pm and I can not help. I explained it was very important as I needed the computer to work that evening. Instead of helping me resolve the issue he charged my credit card 65.00 for 20 minutes and did not resolve anything. I said I would return on Monday as I needed the computer to work Saturday evening and he insisted I pay him without any resolution. What a bad experience. read more

Misrepresented what services they actually provide for a computer virus. Ended up costing more than half of the price that a new computer would have been! Brought computer in for service on a Thursday, was told it would take a day, and didn't get it back repaired until Tuesday at 6pm! Why not say exactly how long it would take? Was told that "they would call" at least 4 times, but alas, I had to call them to check on the status repeatededly. My favorite....was told for an extra $100.00 everything would be removed and put back on computer. When I went to pick up, it was oops! forgot to mention you need to reload all your own applications! Try another place. Like BestBuy & get yourself a brand new machine. Shame on you Tech Connect. Local businesses should provide small town service to the people who support them. read more

Giving them 2 stars bc the owner called me on a Sunday over Labor Day when everyone was closed. Told me to pop in on Tuesday so he could take a look at the nasty virus I had inadvertently downloaded. $180 later, it was running, very slowly (still) and they installed their own security software which annoyingly pops up with sales pitches upon every boot up. Now, I'm sitting here 3 mos later with a cracked motherboard looking to find a legit service provider who can advise me on whether to buy new or fix this issue. I wouldn't go back to Tech Connect. Tech Connect is a great local resource in the Pleasantville area. They are professional, courteous, prompt and thorough. Terrible customer service. Was rude and disrespectful to my Wife & I, haggled over price after he attempted to increase the price he initially quoted me then refused to allow us pay with a credit card, so I had to go to an atm to take out cash to get back a hard drive that he had recovered data from. Failed to recover all the data, but in fairness it was an old hard drive. The job also took several weeks longer to complete than I was initially told it would. Would not go back under any circumstances. read more

These folks are professional, competent and pleasant to work it, whether in home or at the store, updating hardware and repairs, or doing wifi upgrades on a house call. I've done some of these things myself before but when it gets a little sticky or I just can't it together, I trust them to do the job properly. read more
