It was truly hanging on by a thread and I knew it was only a matter of time before it finally conked out on me. Alas, that time finally arrived this week and nothing I did could fix it. I called up and spoke with Kevin, who was incredibly kind, understanding and helpful. He set up an appointment for an in-house visit, and the next day, the repairman Scott arrived right on time. He was courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Brian called me the moment he got in that morning, I drove over (in a bit of a wintry storm) and returned home before dinner with a new SSD and a fully functioning laptop. I hadn't backed up most of my files, but he was still able to get access to the old hard drive with his "Magic Device Thingy!!" (You'll have to ask him about it's official name).
