I came to this location in August of this year with the Things. I normally order pies from this establishment online. I purchased two pies on my last visit as well as a single slice of pie with ice cream on top of it. Let's get to it, shall we? Sweet 'N Salty Pie The pie is described as "Dense, brownie like with caramel and sea salt". The brownie mix used for this pie is moist while the caramel and sea salt add interesting flavor profile. Essentially this pies give you that salty-sweet flavor, and the sea salt flakes add texture. Flaky sea salt works wonders by enhancing the perception of sweetness and deepening the richness of chocolate. This pie pairs well with a cocktail or coffee. Junkberry Pie Junkberry Pie is described as a "mix of apples, peaches, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries with a sour cream sugar topping". This is a gorgeous berry custard pie with mixed berries and sour cream custard. Normally a pie such as this one is topped with a simple buttery streusel crumb topping, however this one is not. This is unfortunate as a crumb topping adds the perfect crunch to the pie when eating it. This pie is absurdly tart. Therefore, if you are opposed to tart things, this may not be the pie for you. This pie pairs perfectly with a Jim Beam Peach Berry Pie cocktail. This cocktail is made by blending Jim Beam Peach and Dekuyper Razzmatazz and evokes a fruity and indulgent taste reminiscent of homemade pie. While these pies can be ordered for delivery online, purchased in store and purchased at the restaurant that has the same sake, the pie price points are all different for the three modalities of purchase. To order a pie to be delivered cost the most, while purchasing the pie at the pie shop (like I did) costs less than delivery and ordering at the restaurant costs the least. Stopped into today to give my mom a special treat on our drive from San Antonio. I had eaten at their full rest. around the corner and it was so good. Today my $9.00 three bite pie(seriously so small) was heated up in a microwave which made the crust mush and then given to me in a steamy plastic container. A place that charges this much has clearly become aware of the inflation value but no idea how to heat pie without exposing customers to toxins or maintaining the quality of their product with a small toaster oven. The cost of a full pie is $54. We tried the chicken pot pie. It was without flavor. No prices listed anywhere so your forced to ask and then have no reaction to the "picked my pockets" answer...Honestly....the atmosphere was so sweet outside because of some care taken to the esthetic but the $37 t-shirts and maybe because the employees have to give the bad news all day that the 3 bite pie is so outrages, it puts them in a bad mood. Wow! What a fun stop! An absolute must if you're in the area. My husband and I both got a slice of pie (I added ice cream to mine!) and we shared a lemonade. The sizes were large and mine came with a very generous portion of ice cream. The pies themselves were delicious. There was a line when we arrived, but the staff moved through it quickly and efficiently and were super kind! I'm a pie person. It's my favorite dessert! And that means I've eaten an awful lot of them. This place takes the pie haha for best ones! I was pleasantly surprised at how many flavors they had available. I almost didn't get the junk berry but was glad I did as it was the least sweet tasting to me and my favorite. Loved the granola topping on both the rhubarb and the lemon blueberry. I wish the weather had been conducive to getting a pie shake. Next time! And there will be a next time. OK, these pies are seriously awesomesauce. There's no other single word I could use to describe them. They are everything you want a pie to be and more. Or at least that was my experience with the blueberry lemon one. It's got a blueberry filling sandwiching a cream cheese and lemon zest layer of yumminess. And it's topped with granola. Every bite gave you elements of each layer and flavor - and that to me is the sign of a solid piece of pie. We took a full pie home ($32/pie) and were so glad we did! The staff in the shop were friendly and helpful - the service was quick and the packaging exudes personality. It's about an hour out from the city of Austin, in a very sparsely populated area. Arriving here, I immediately felt out of place. Like the people of this small town didn't really take kindly to strangers. All this aside, we ventured into the small shop to see what pies we wanted. They have quite a selection and the day we went, it was really very busy. We got four slices to go and had them later at home. They're owned by the same people as Royer's Round Top Cafe, if you can't tell from the name, which is the most popular restaurant in Round Top. Both the cafe and pie haven serve pie so you can get your fix at either spot. Pie Haven is a coffee shop so it's a lot smaller and you can also grab-and-go. If this restaurant could receive more stars they deserve every bit of it. Being a rt local we try to avoid the restaurants during busy season knowing the quality isn't quite the same as off season. This restaurant never misses a beat , quality service , super atmosphere, PHENOMENAL FOOD, and our server Mackenzie was INCREDIBLE. Their food is good -- no doubt. The pies are excellent, tasty, and although pricy, I think they're worth the dough. However, it saddens me to see a place not offer even a modicum of precautionary measures with regards to pandemic protocols. They were doing so back in the summer. Not now. So, yet another quaint local place full of tourists that I'm going to write off as un-visitable. No employees were wearing masks. Very few customers were wearing masks. I know that the antiques show prep is starting to gear up, but there are enough out-of-towners to warrant at least the minimum -- employees wearing masks at least a couple of social distancing reminders.
