When I first moved here me and my son wanted to try this place out although we're no coffee drinkers we love a cute cafe bakery style place. I'm traveling from out of town and I have Celiac disease... it is very hard to find a restaurant with gluten free options and this was the only option close by and unfortunately they were not open. I was driving on TX Highway 71 on my way from Austin to Houston when I saw a Latte Cafe sign just outside La Grange. I needed a good cup of coffee and some food so I decided to take a short break from driving. The cafe is about 2 miles from the exit. The cafe is located across the street from the La Grange City Hall and Courthouse. It's a cozy place with several tables, a couple of high-tops, and a sofa near the front door. There are several bottles of sanitizer available and everyone I saw who came in wore a face mask. The barista was friendly. She suggested I try the breakfast bowl. The breakfast bowl was a spinach salad with bacon and cheese. It was pretty tasty. I ordered a latte with latte art. The latte was also delicious. The latte art was not very fancy but the barista did confess that she was a little rusty with her art. She gets an A for effort! There is also a huge selection flavored syrups for any coffee drink you order. They have a commercial coffee bean grinder that could make many different grinds for many types of coffee. I'm pretty sure they can make any coffee drink that you want. The cafe has a good vibe. It seems like a nice, comfortable place to have a nice coffee with a friend or to study. read more

This was the perfect spot for a quick bite during a road trip! The grilled cheese hit the spot and was oozing four types of cheese at the best temperature. The energy ball had a great amount of nuttiness and sweetness to appease my sugar craving. The pasta was light and appetizing and did not distract from the main meal. I highly recommend this cafe. I ordered the Italian panini with pasta salad. The bread was clearly homemade (double YUM!!) and the deli meats were fresh and savory. The pasta salad was also freshly made with olives and feta cheese. Also, their lemonade is DELICIOUS!! As we were leaving I ordered their speciality pumpkin patch iced latte which was perfect and made with real pumpkin spice drizzle. A welcome oasis on this chilly morning in Central Texas. Came in for a delicious coffee from their talented baristas and added on a breakfast panini. We had the bacon egg and cheese panini. Big enough to share. Thick cut Bacon was perfectly crispy and just a wonderful little sandwich to start the day. Only thing better would be to offer a choice of cheese. Comes with American (a nice and creamy melt), but I'd love to try my next one with Swiss or PepperJack. Just a thought. Now I wish I'd have had the Honey Bun muffin, but will wait for next visit. This place is a great casual stop for a sandwich and also has great waffles for breakfast, but as a regular here I've come across a few problems that brings them down to only 3 stars. Let me start off by saying, the food and coffee have the potential to be delicious and often times have been, but the big problem with this place is that they are INCONSISTENT!! Some days I will go and get a great meal with great service and other days (like today) I will get a cold panini with nothing in it melted, so basically just a cold cut turkey and bacon sandwich rather than a panini. Some days my coffee will be made perfect and other days the girls won't know how to make a latte. I think the problem here is that the staff isn't well trained, because it always depends on who is working that decides whether my meal will be good a lot. There's really only 2 girls here that have been working here awhile and know what they are doing and always give me a good meal & service. Don't get me wrong, everyone here is very nice and the service is wonderful, and the food is fresh and good quality, I just think the staff needs to be trained better as I get a different meal every time I come despite only ordering the same 2-3 things over and over. Overall the food has always been good, just not always exactly what I thought I'd get when I ordered. Staff is nice and friendly just not always super well-trained. Evens out to about 3 stars Definitely good enough to keep me coming back and a go-to in my usual places to eat. read more

I really want to love Latte, but it just falls short of good coffee and service. I typically order an iced americano and it comes out different every time and when the iced tea is stronger than the iced espresso there is a problem. In an area where competition is right around the corner it may be hard to keep the doors open. It's obvious they're understaffed, but acknowledging waiting customers is a must. Maybe a "Welcome in folks, we'll be right with you!" Or a "Sorry for the wait, we're glad you're here!" In a small town like this you have to nail your service and offerings. Sadly, Latte has a way to go to consistently provide good service and products. Like I said - I really do want to love Latte, but they're not convincing me to do so. read more

Loved stopping in to this gem across from the courthouse in La Grange! Barrels of Blue Bell ice cream, perfect cappuccino and homemade baked goods (saw them cutting them to put out)! We parked right in front (plenty of parking) and everyone in my family got their own personal treat for the road. Prices were very reasonable and ice cream was a super good deal. Friendly careful service (no rushing and no extra long waiting either) with a few words and a smile was the right mix of quiet & courteous assistance. Inside there was a nice clean bathroom, eclectic coffee house decor and a lovely sitting area with wifi. If we were in town for more than a "stop" I would cozy up with a paper and stay a while. The cute antique shop next door (and across the square) has cool goodies in the window as you enter and exit. All the coffees and sweet treats here made this coffee shop an extra delightful stop on our way back to Dallas from the beach. read more

We had to go to La Grange for our covid vaccines. I had the daily special and my wife has a soup and a sandwich. The daily special was chicken alfredo. Mine had pretty good flavor but my wife's soup was a bit salty. Everyone that worked at the restaurant was wearing masks but we were the only customers with masks. This is my first review of this coffee shop that I have frequented over the past five years. Previously I would have given it 5 stars--but today I would give it Zero stars if possible for customer service. At 4:09 PM I ordered a large nonfat White mocha on December 30, 2021. Candice was the one who took my order and made my drink. When she brought my drink to the counter a woman and her daughter talked with her about their order that needed to be adjusted. She then took my drink off the counter and put it on the espresso maker, where it stood for 20 minutes. She took the order of four or five guys afterwards and proceeded to make their drinks. When I came up to the counter at 4:30 pm, Candice argued that she in fact called out loudly twice about my drink order, which I should've heard if she did so since I was sitting right in front of the cash register and less than 3 yards away from the counter. She then proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong and that I must not of been paying attention otherwise I most definitely would've heard her calls. The other barista offered to remake my drink, which I agree to as my drink was at that point lukewarm. Candice kept a running commentary in the back about how I was wrong, she was right, she had announced it twice, that the drink had been sitting up on the counter for ages, etc. At that point I asked for a refund and Candice's commentary proceeded to get even louder. This is extremely disappointing as I've been to this coffee shop every time we've come to our farm in La Grange over the past five years. I had ignored the one star reviews on this app previously because I always had such a lovely service, including when I came yesterday afternoon from 1245 to closing. However, I'm seeing that people's experiences here are really dependent on who's working the counter. I am extremely ambivalent about coming back to work here as bodega is less than a block down the street, and I could always drive over to Columbus or Weimer for coffee shops that have higher ratings ‍ read more

The Chevron station I always stop at was totally packed with about 50 glossy eyed tourist types "evacuating" from Houston for hurricane Ike. So I found this place on google maps and decided to try it out. The owner was there that day and she was great, made me a good iced latte and told me about how she started this shop because there were no modern type coffee shops in La Grange (no, really?). My wife and I traveled from Austin to Houston and back over the last few days. We visited Latte on the Square each time and had some great food and drinks each time. Their drink selection is outstanding and the sandwiches were also very good. We left with scones, cookies and cupcakes which we are still enjoying! The staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere relaxed. They also had great music playing during both visits. We'll definitely stop in next time we travel thru La Grange. read more
