We ordered a two tier cake for our granddaughters quinceanera and a half sheet cake. I brought in decorations for the top of the two tier cake. When we sobbed to pick it up the two Tier came did not have what I brought in. It had a top that said happy first communion. We pointed out that that was in correct. They could not find the decorations for quinceanera that I provided. After discussing that we were told that they did not make our sheet cake. We were very disappointed. I needed a baklava fix and this place caught my eye. I have another go to spot, but I wanted to try them out. They have a good variety of baklava and also sell custom and premade cakes. While their baklava was good, it didn't match up to my go to spot (Which I won't say out of respect). It's just not as fresh tasting and crisp like I personally like it. 4.5 stars Came here for something different and a change of pace from donuts to bring to work. Royal Sweets makes some authentic fresh baklava and turkish delights. I haven't tasted such authentic baklava since my trip to Turkey. There are many different variations of baklava, I'm sure they all have different names but they are pretty similar to me, they all contain nuts, filo pastry, butter and honey, so for the sake of keeping it simple I'm just going to call them all baklava. Even while in Turkey, i just pointed and said, i want one of that and that and so on. Baklava follows what i call "Taco Bell theory".. I don't mean that in a bad or negative way. What i mean is you take the same ingredients and you assembly them differently to make a different type of treat. Taco Bell Taco - ground beef, curved taco shell, lettuce, tomato, cheese. Mexican Pizza - Ground beef, flat taco shell, lettuce, tomato, cheese. Burrito - Same as a taco but flour tortilla Royal Sweets Baklava 1 - Layers of filo pastry, honey, pistachios Baklava 2 - Pistachios rolled in the middle of layers of filo pastry and honey Baklava 3 - Bird nest of shredded filo pastry with honey filled with pistachios in the middle. They are all basically the same thing but in different forms of filo pastry, some with different nuts, or nuts more finely chopped than others. The different shapes actually do give each one a different texture and feel, the same as how a mexican pizza is different than a taco. Their baklava whatever form you choose are all delicious! They also have turkish delight, which look very authentic, I'll have to come back and try some next time. You can get them by the pound or get them by large or small trays. BTW Everyone at work loved them! A nice welcome change from donuts! They also have other bakery items, but the baklava and turkish delight are what stood out and made this bakery unique. read more

We've driven past this place for years, and although it always caught my eye, we never stopped in until last week. WOW!!! What a pleasant surprise! The various forms of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern sweets stretch from one end of the long store to the other! And the cake choices are fantastic! The store clerk gave us each an absolutely delicious sample of a delight called Znoud El Sit, and that was it. We are hooked! We want to shop there weekly - but we will have to wait until after the pandemic. I removed a star due to the fact that the employees don't wear masks. Please, Royal Sweets, please wear masks! With a young child and an immuno-compromised person in our group, we cannot frequent any business that doesn't take the pandemic seriously. Very depressing. read more

I was excited to see the selection of Baklava they had and purchased the Turkish Baklava. My first 2 pieces had pistachio shell bits inside and when I called to notify them, the woman said it's normal to have shells. Never in my life have I heard of an establishment purposely putting shells in the baklava so this is a huge No, stay away for me. I don't like putting food in my mouth that I have to spit out. I am a fan of Middle Eastern Bakery given their use of nuts in their baked goods, such as pistachios and walnuts. So, when I visited this new bakery, those are the desserts I targeted. Now, I do not know the names of the items I bought, I just pointed and said, "one of those, two of those," etc.. I did choose several that looked like Baklava and others I have had before. The total for all the desserts I bought was eight dollars and some change. My favorite were the large layer Baklava dusted with powdered sugar. One came loaded with tasty and crunchy chopped pistachios and heavy with sweet honey, and the other came without the powdered sugar and loaded with crunchy nutty chopped walnuts and again, with honey. I also tried a dome like cookie, similar to a wedding cookie, but filled with pistachios instead of pecans. The cookie was very good but could of used more powdered sugar. The prices range from $7 to $12 per pound. I recommend that they label the prices for each item, so patrons know approximately paying for each item. They also make cakes and take orders for special occasions and provide a generous amount of other desserts and pastries. Service was pretty good and the young lady was friendly enough. I found this place kind of by accident about a year ago when I was visiting San Diego. I've been thinking about it ever since and finally got to go back. I was impressed by how sanitary the bakery is and their sweets are delicious. I picked up some nice walnut pastries, a small parfait, and some other baklava for my family.
