Best cake ever! I was a little worried because I did find her on Craigslist. I did a tasting which is that you get two small cakes with the flavors you want for $20. I got 2 chocolate flavors, they were awesome and great for a chocolate lover, very moist. The price of the cake was actually a deal to steal, $130 for my 80's themed cake. We decided on a lemon with blueberries cake and raspberry filling, we hadnt tried it prior to party day, so the taster was a suprise but sounded yummy. When cake arrived, right on time with free delivery within 15 miles of la mesa, it looked exactly like the picture! I have a friend who is a cake critic, and she said the cake is awesome! First, presentation is everything, and I loved how awesome my daughter's Rapunzel/Tangled tower looked; the quality was top-notch. AMAZING! Amber made our cake for my son's 1st birthday. We originally went to Hans and Harry's to get his cake but 3 weeks before my son's birthday, the time they told me to come in to order my custom cake, they sent me away with tears saying they no longer make custom cakes. I found SLCS on yelp and i'm so glad i did! She does all her orders and communication through email which isn't a problem. She offers cake tasting for a small fee. Our cake was delivered in perfect condition! Everyone LOVED the cake! it was gone in 2 days, 3/4 the first day for the guests who attended the party and the remaining 1/4 the next day for guests who couldn't make it to the actual party. Contacted SLC via email; got an email back saying they possibly could take one more order and asked how many I needed it to serve. I emailed back saying I only needed a small cake to serve 6-8; never heard a word back...except for some off the wall text message "saying who is this" which was after I tried to call to see if they would be able to make the cake. I ordered my sons fist birthday cake from Sweet Lips. I emailed her and gave her my idea for a Finding Nemo themed cake. She was very excited to make it for us and was very helpful in picking out flavors that would really complement each other. I was anxious when his party arrived to see the cake. She delivered it to my house (which was great considering the stress of having a party), she was on time and when I saw the cake I was so excited. It was everything I wanted and more. All the decorations on the cake were edible including the Nemo! Our cake served 25-30 people and I recieved more compliments on our cake then I can count, both on the flavor and the decorations. I recently attended a party that had an SLCS cake, and it was amazing! I took a business card because I knew I didn't want to forget who made the cake! It was a chocolate cake with butterscotch/caramel filling, and vanilla icing. Every bite of it was absolutely delicious but that frosting- amazing!! SLCS did a fabulous cake for my sister's baby shower last year. Really tasty cake and super impressive looking. So, I was quite excited to ask them to do another cake for my sons' bday party in March of this year, however they informed me that they were already booked for that time period. Ok, fine.
