Uccellino! This was my first time dining here, and I will most certainly be back…read more I've had the pleasure of dining at Bar Bricco and Corso, and all have been a great experience. But Uccellino takes the cake. From the moment we arrived, until the moment we rolled ourselves out the door every moment was perfect. The Space... Modern decor with a clean uncluttered space, Uccellino is very pleasing on the eye. Acoustics and music were just so, allowing for conversation to be without having to raise your voice or ask your guests to repeat themselves. The food... Oh the food! I wish I had the chance to order everything. Every morsel was heavenly. We were a party of 4 and had 5 Antipasti; the Olives, Goat Ricotta Crostini, Charred Cabbage, Culatello and the Carpaccio. I honestly could not pick a favourite. For our Primi and Secondi we enjoyed the Agnolotti, Cacio e Pepe and the Bistecca with crispy potatoes. Again, everything was a 10/10. And to finish our meal, we had every dessert. The service... Our server Denise was an absolute gem. Timing every course perfectly and always being attentive to our needs without hovering. From suggesting wines that paired perfectly with each course when we were humming and ha-ing between a few to treating us to some delicious Lemoncello to end our evening. A perfect 10 all around. My only regret was not taking more pics to share how great everything looked.

I started the meal with the Don Vito cocktail, a spirit forward sweet concoction of Cognac, Bourbon and Limoncello. Immediately felt like it set the perfect tone for dinner. The tasting menu started with four appetizers, the Arancini, Goat Ricotta Crostini, Insalata Siciliana and the Culatello. My favorite was the arancini as it was packed full of melty cheese with so much flavor. The culatello was a crowd favorite and the crostini was a great palate cleanser. For secondi we had the Truffle Gnudi and Paccheri. For people who like meaty flavors go with the paccheri, but I liked the light cheese and truffle of the gnudi. By the time the Pollo Al Mattone came around, I could only manage a mouthful of the succulent brick chicken and the fresh cabbage salad as I was so full and would need to be rolled out of the restaurant. We ended with the Chocolate Budino, which was dark, creamy and delicious. A great tasting menu at a great price, especially compared to Toronto prices!

Place has "very fancy" feel and would be good for special events/celebration dinners. Free bread to start was fine but not the best I have had. I prefer mine with butter but the oil/vinegar is probably more typical. We tried the: Calamari: 10/10, great texture, loved that we got 2 sauces to dip in. Fettuccine Tavolino (cheese wheel pasta): 10/10. Boyfriend was not too full after. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Nice cheesy creamy flavor. Ravioli Alla Zucca: 9/10, I can't remember if there were 6 or 7 ravioli in the dish. Very pleasing presentation. In my opinion too many sundried tomatoes. I love that it comes with sundried tomatoes as that added some great tang/flavor. Ravioli themselves were perfectly cooked. Brown butter sauce was excellent and wanted more. Creme Brule: 9/10, exactly as expected, definitely enough to share between 2 people. Affogato: vanilla gelato was 11/10 good to me but boyfriend didn't like the flavor. We both agree the espresso was excellent. Very small portion (too small to share!). Free cookies at the end were fine. Overall food was excellent and I'll be back but to try something different on the menu.

Violino, in an old home, its staff, and the food exceeded our expectations. We will most certainly be making a reservation the next time we visit the Oilers hometown. Damn that was good! Ushered upstairs, didn't really get a chance to take it in, so will be sure to stop and look around next time. The complimentary bread was great, the martini's good although one glass had far more than the other. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and although quite different from what we make at home, was excellent! K had the Alfredo flambé which was fired up tableside. It seems to be a popular option as it happened 6 or 7 times while we dined. They also don't soak you for the privilege of the tableside presentation. It was a little cheesy for K, but excellent nonetheless. Our server Eugenia from Hamburg was excellent, she can serve us anytime. She was attentive, and her timing was exceptional! We plan on making a reservation the next time we are in Edmonton. Top notch experience!

Crab ravioli was fine 8/10 (pasta itself was great but the filling was underwhelming), but scallops served within was 10/10. Raspberry mouse was so-so to me 7/10, but boyfriend loved it. Drinks: Holy Water was surprisingly very weak in overall alcohol flavor and taste Pink Lady: also very weak in flavor but lemon sorbet in it was good. The drink special was $2 off caesars, so I had a dill pickle Caesar and a bacon Caesar, both were delicious! Hubby had a beer (boring, I know). I ordered the special which was prosciutto wrapped sole w/pan fried shrimp covered with a buttery white wine sauce and a side of mashed potatoes, asparagus and bacon brussel sprouts. Other than being a touch salty, the meal was delicious! Hubby ordered the veal cannelloni with a side Caesar salad. He also said his dish was a bit over salted.
