I'll definitely be back for the virgin basil strawberry smash and the excellent prawns. They were happy to make substitutions to make the pasta dish exactly what I had been dreaming of. (The only complaint is that the scallops were tiny and not what I expected since I'm use to the big kind. I'd add more seafood for the price, is the only thing I'd change!) Place was 50% full Saturday at 2PM. Gender specific bathrooms with stalls. Place feels very classy and professional. Server was nice but never refilled our table water even after we moved it a couple times to be within her view of the table (my friend swears he saw her see us move it to the edge of the table too). Rialto Float cocktail was nice if you like Pisco. Royal Jamaican Ginger beer was good too. Olive Calde - large portion for price. Olives were fine. Calamari - 10/10 delicious, dips were great too. Gnocchi with pancetta - 10/10, surprising filling and even though the Gnocchi were huge chunks they were well cooked. Waitress recommend Campanella Aragosta - 7/10. If you like spicy it's fine but otherwise the flavor is actually very bland. Pasta itself was unique and well cooked. Large portion. Beef Brisket Agnolotti - 7/10, 8 large ravioli filled with brisket. Sauce was good, ravioli were well cooked but brisket inside was pretty underwhelming. Friend who got this dish was ++ hungry still after and said he would order something else next time for the price. Funghi Cipolla - 8/10, it was as expected. Ricotta cheesecake - cheesecake itself was great with the ricotta taste but crust was soooo bad. So overly thick and dry and considering our waitress failed to give us water the entire meal it was impossible to eat (so dry). Date cake - Unfortunately they didn't have gelato as was advertised on the menu to go with the cake so whipped cream was substituted. Was told this only after we ordered and friend asked for the flavors of gelato. Cake had a few uncooked flour lumps. Flavor was fine but not as flavorful/spice-heavy as I hoped. I'm glad I made a reservation for a Saturday lunch as the restaurant filled up, even on a cold day. There were a few coat hooks at the sides of the tables which was nice. Even though it was getting busy, the service was attentive and friendly. The server was great to refill out drinks, and check in on us. One of my favourite salads is there Avocado e Gamberi. It's a large salad with avocado, greens, tomatoes, pickled onions, shrimp, and a delicious vinaigrette. The only complaint is I wish there were more than 3 shrimp! My tablemate had a pasta dish and the smaller portion, which was perfect for lunch. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert. The portion size was big, so a dessert for sharing after having a meal. Came to Edmonton for the weekend and decided to try this Italian place as per a local's recommendation. Coming from Vancouver where the food scene is overpowering with lots of highly rated Italian restaurants, I knew I could not expect much. Nonetheless, this was still a good place to try with warm service and good drinks. The beef carpaccio came in a great portion size with a couple of pieces of crostini. I liked it but found nothing special apart from the great size to cost ratio. The server also recommended the con pollo with mushrooms as it was her favourite pasta. It was good but I felt like in terms of flavour and quality, it could be replicated by some of my friends who are really into cooking. I also sampled (not pictured) another pasta ordered by my friend and that one unfortunately was salty and tasted like Michelina's. I also found nothing too special about the pizza and although we had leftovers, I did not find it was something I wanted to reach for again. However, the service was really quick and the server was attentive and warm! Drinks were also good with lots of variety. I also really appreciated the lower food and drink costs (cries in BC inflation). I've been wanting to go here since I saw the pasta wheel video on instagram, we didn't make it for the pasta wheel Wednesday yet BUT we did get there on a Friday night and the food did NOT disappoint in any way. We were in a decent sized group so I had the ability to try several different dishes including the bruschetta, the arancini, the pizza, and the pasta! Everything I tried was fantastic, my husband had the seafood pasta and loved it! While I had the tagliatelle dish. Despite the loudness and the indifferent staff. I had the Rigatoni all' Arrabbiata Tossed in spicy San Marzano tomato sauce. Topped with parmigiano. It was really tasty. The pasta was cooked properly and had a spring in the bite which i enjoyed. Flavours were on par too. It was spicy without being too overwhelming. So it could be a 5 but a couple things annoyed me. Lets start with the good. The food is awesome! We had calamari to start which was decent. The pastas we had carbonara and some prosciutto pasta with lemon were so good! The tiramisu for dessert also awesome, not too sweet, just right! The wine selection was decent, my choice wasnt my fav but thats on me. Service was pretty good, server was knowledgable but did vanish for a bit. Now what annoyed me is how small and noisy it was. This place was luxurious! We made a reservation on a Thursday night and I'm glad we did because even on a freezing cold night it was still bumping here! The ambience is dark and romantic, and I love the kind of steampunk feel with the pipe lighting and dark accents. Candles and super cute tea sets if you order tea. Really efficient and thoughtful staff. We came in super bundled up from the cold and the waitress kindly offered to take our coats. We ordered our food right away as I thought it would be a bit more of a wait but the food came out in really good time and as soon as it was out we were all happily enjoying and savouring the rich flavors. When we ordered dessert the waitress asked if we were celebrating too which I thought was nice. I orders the Gnocchi di Patate Dolci $29 added smoked pancetta $4 which I loved the pancetta and the gnocchi was melt in your mouth texture. The butternut squash purée was absolutely divine! A generous but not overwhelming portion. The Spaghetti alla carbonara $26 was the next top item we had ordered. The noodles were perfect and the flavor was excellent. Portion was a little bigger than the gnocchi but so nice. And finally the Tortellini Burro E Salvia $30 had amazing colors and the filling was a little spicy, not hot, but something in the ricotta filling added a nice spice touch. There were tons of sundried tomatoes in this dish as well. Dessert! We had to try one of the gelato flavours and we settled on the cherry mania, it had a lot more chocolate in it than I expected and it was melting pretty fast. We also ordered the Pistachio chocolate tart $12 and this dessert was lovely. Rich but not overpowering, and we adored the caramel sauce on the side as well as the candied orange bits. Truly delightful! We parked at the library parkade and walked which isn't too far, there is also parking out front. And I saw baby high chairs but I didn't notice a baby change table so not sure if they have one or not. read more

Bianco was very vibrant when I was here for dinner and I had one of the best dining experiences because of the service and the food. The server came at every single point of the meal at the right time, was very cheerful, and offered suggestions, i.e. more crostini with the Involtini, and what the dishes contained. In terms of food, I tried the Involtini, Gnocchi di Patate Dolci, and Campanelle Aragosta. Everything is at least worth trying. The Involtini had a few nice sized pieces of eggplants, which went well with the cheese and/or the tomato sauce. The crostini with tomato sauce, or with eggplant and cheese were really good. For this dish, the tomato sauce stood out the most as it was rich and flavourful. The gnocchi was really really good as well. It was perfectly cooked, with the right amount of flavour and complements. The gnocchi with the puree just makes one happy eating it. Complements tomatoes/spinach/leek added more layers to the dish. The Campanelle had a nice aroma and was really good. The pasta was cooked al dente. It was rich in flavour with a nice spiciness to it (from the fra diavolo sauce), and came in a surprisingly large portion - both the portion of the pasta and the amount of shrimp and lobster. The chunks of lobster felt fairly fresh as one could taste the lobster, and they made additional cuts to the shrimps which made the texture better and also perhaps so it's easier to absorb more flavour. Overall, all of the items are worth trying and it felt like a good value meal given the quality and quantity of food, and the service completed the experience, and I'd rate them 9/10 read more

Honestly I don't know what happened to Bianco. Maybe they aren't paying a competitive rate to attract top talent, but my latest experience was abysmal. They served a caprese salad with no basil, and when we asked, the server checked with the kitchen and they said they ran out of basil. Why would you send out a caprese salad when you have no basil? And why wouldn't the customer be informed? The icing on the cake was when we were eating our dessert (more on that soon), the table right next to us (within 1 foot of us) had the caprese salad. Yes, I asked them if they were told it didn't have basil as they were poking at it instead of eating it. Nope, they were not told and they had the same server. And they were also very disappointed. The dessert. Gelato was served as milkshake consistency as it was prepared but not brought to our table quick enough. The chocolate cake dessert (cannot recall what it's called) was drier than cardboard. And lastly, the ambiance was not there. Every server was running around which gave a chaotic feeling. There was a guy that seemed to be a manager that standing and watching everyone work. It just felt weird. I'll be hard pressed to return. My partner and I made a reservation with Bianco earlier this month (October 19, 2024). The restaurant was very busy that evening, but the hosts ensured that we were not waiting too long for a table. We were offered complimentary Prosecco because, despite our reservation, Bianco was not able to seat us right away. We declined the drinks but we were grateful that they acknowledged our waiting situation. We were seated within ten minutes of coming through the door. After being seated at our table, we ordered our drinks and meals. We were given water right away, but our specialty drinks arrived to our table after our appetizers (an order of Calamari and an Avocado e Gamberi salad). The server apoligized for the late arrival of our drinks. The calamari seemed to be heavy on the breading but the salad was phenomenal! Our pasta entrees were delicious and the portions were large enough to have considerable leftovers to take home. The environment was very loud, but servers were still able to effectively communicate with us. Girls night out! We decided to check out Bianco for some delicious wine and food and treat ourselves. The patio is very nice and open, large, lots of heaters and tables. There is no music playing in the background of this restaurant so you can pretty much hear all the conversations going on around you, which for us we didn't mind that much. We started off on the patio and ordered a delicious bottle of Pinot Noir to share. ($65) the wine list is very extensive and there is really something for everyone. We ordered the cheese board for appetizer and it was a good size with 3 different cheese and 2 different jams. Comes with bread to eat it with and we were able to ask for more bread when we ran out. There was a very persistent wasp flying about and we asked the waitress if we could move indoors. She was very happy to oblige and helped us switch to the indoors. The indoor dining room is very cozy. We ordered a few dishes, my one friend ordered a pasta dish which looked very yummy! The only thing is it was very spicy and she only was able to eat 1/2 of it. The description didn't say it was spicy I don't think...and the server didn't mention it either. My other friend ordered the gnocchi and she absolutely loved this dish. I ended up ordering the pulpo which is octopus that was cooked to perfection served like a salad. It was very delicious. We also got dessert, 2 different kinds of gelato and a tiramisu. The tiramisu was authentic and reminded me of Venice, Italy. It was delicious! Overall this was a great experience. It is a bit on the pricier side here so it's definitely not an "everyday" type of meal but more for a special treat. Highly recommend. My brother told me about this place and raved about it so we had to check it out. We were not disappointed! For cocktails you must try their smoked old fashioned and their Negroni. Our highest standard is the smoked old fashions at the fairmont hotels and this one comes real Close to that standard. For dinner we had their ricotta cheese appie and for entrees we had the carbonara and risotto fruitti de mare. The risotto was great with lots of seafood. My husband enjoyed it. The carbonara was delish! Just the right enough of cream and the pancetta was a wonderful touch. Could use a little more Parmesan. The ricotta was the star!! OMG! Blew our minds. This is one of the newest Italian places to open up recently in Edmonton's downtown core. It's very modern, bright and aesthetic inside. The server was welcoming and knowledgeable. We ordered: -Linguine al Nere ($28) which was a squid ink infused linguini. It was flavourful and looked pretty for pictures. I wish I could say it was the best pasta I've ever tasted but it wasn't. My general conclusion was that it was good pasta but not anything mind blowing. -Tagliatelle con Prosciutto al Limone ($21) which was tagliatelle and prosciutto tossed in lemon zested butter. It was refreshing to the taste buds and lemon added a nice punch. My only complaint would be that it got really oily near the end and the last quarter of my meal was drenched in melted butter so it was almost hard to finish. We were too full at the end for dessert but I wouldn't mind trying their Gelato selection next time. This is a great place to eat at during the summer because they also have a patio! Made a reservation for an early dinner mid week. Parking isn't the best around there so if you have a reservation give yourself a bit of time to find a spot and be prepared to pay or walk. We were seated promptly, restaurant was about 1/4 full and it looked like they were set up for a busy night. There is xposed brick and concrete everywhere, tables are close together which may or may not be everyone's cup of tea. First thing we noticed is the noise level in there. It's loud, and it was only 1/4 full. I can't imagine what it's like when it's packed. I think it's possibly due to the exposed brick / concrete creating an echo. Menu is standard Italian fare, pasta, pizza, etc, it's well laid out and loads of options. Drink menu looked good and I liked how they categorized beer by type (ipa, lager etc) My wife and I ordered the arancini to start which was delicious. Far too often what arrives is a mushy mess but these were delicious, with the right amount of tomato sauce to dip that ensured every bite had the right amount of sauce coverage. For our mains we ordered the Fra Diavola and Pollo e Funghi, portion sizes were generous. The Fra Diavola was the slightly better of the 2, slightly spicy, betterl seasoned, but unfortunately the seafood in the dish was all overcooked. The Pollo e Funghi was lacking in flavour and the chicken breast in the dish suffered the same fate as the seafood from the Fra Diavola, it was overcooked and dry. The men's bathroom had urinals and a seperate room with a black toilet, haven't seen one of those colour toilets in ages, probably because it's hard to make them look sparkly clean. Would be nice if there was a sink in the seperate toilet room. Service was good, efficient, we got what we needed when we needed it. Came here for a late lunch/early dinner and got to try a everything on their Apertivo afternoon menu. This included Warm Olives, Bruschetta Caprese, Polpette Pomodoro (two large meatballs), Margarita Pizza, and Mussels cooked in a cream or tomato based sauce. Each item was very tasty and surprisingly affordable ($34 for all 5 items). The Polpette Pomodoro stood out because the meatballs were so tender and flavourful. I'd venture to guess there was ground beef, pork, and veal with a fair amount of bread and water which kept it soft and fluffy. If this was the king of the apertivo then the mussels in the cream sauce was the queen. The cream sauce was sooo good we were drinking it like a soup! The crostinis they provided weren't enough to soak up all of the creamy goodness. We also ordered the Burrata which is buffalo mozzerella. The two jams (fig and roasted red pepper) went well with the soft cheese and the whole walnuts brought a crunch and earthiness to the bite. It's a dish that is normally served cold but this felt a bit colder than it needed to be. I prefer it closer to room temperature. This room is gorgeous! It has an upscale east coast feel with exposed brick, lofted ceilings with exposed pipes and beams. The open kitchen allows for great photos and transparency of the food being prepared. The patio is tucked in from the sidewalk and elegantly decorated. Their location is great but does pose some challenges for parking. read more

Myself and 7 others dined here on a Tuesday night. The restaurant interior is clean and modern with a masculine finish but maintains a warmth and lighting that created perfect ambiance for an evening meal. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly, and the waitress was prompt to take drink orders and bring out carafes of water, both when the first half of the group arrived, and the second. To start I had a Three Coins in the Fountain to drink and shared the Bufula Montata and the Bruschetta Caprese. The drink was pleasant; nice to look at, easy to drink, tasty. Both of the appetizers were flavourful and fresh. The bufula was a bit small to share with more than one person, but the caprese had more than enough to go around. Only thing to note is that the Bruschetta Caprese was really just a bunch of rather large pieces of tomato and a hard mozzarella. It tasted great, but half the people at my table were like "Hmm... weird! Not what I was expecting but okay!" For dinner I had Casarecce con Pollo e Funghi and loved it! White sauces are always indulgent and comforting and this dish was just that. The chicken was moist and a surprisingly enjoyable part of the pasta. The truffle oil was a very subtle flavour. And lastly, the serving (while by no means meagre) was a lot more filling than it looked! 3 other people dining with me ordered the same and all of us were tapping out after eating less than half. Worth noting that all the food came out in a timely fashion and all at once, however the second round of drinks we ordered came a little late, near to when we were finished eating although they were ordered just before the food came out. Everyone agreed the food was good and it was an enjoyable dining experience, but nothing spectacular. Not everything has to be, though! I love Italian cuisine so I was very excited to try Bianco. My first impression of the restaurant was that it's super modern and aesthetically pleasing. Loved the ambience and music selection. I wish I could say the same for the food however, it was very mediocre. My boyfriend and I ordered the bruschetta to start, and shared the seafood linguini and steak. The bruschetta was OK, but didn't hit the spot in terms of flavour. The seafood linguini had 2 clam shells with no clams :(. Steak was too chewy and the sides did not complement. For drinks, I had the "Three Coins in the Fountain" cocktail and it was tasty. It's feminine and sweet. I just found it odd that my boyfriend wanted a king cube with his whiskey, and the server informed us that they had it but was only meant for special drinks. (????) Makes absolutely no sense to tell a customer that. I think she quickly noticed what she said didn't sound right, and brought out the king cube. We shared a tiramisu which had lovely plating. The tiramisu was probably the highlight for me. Overall, it's whatever. I wouldn't mind going back... but also wouldn't suggest it. read more
