    Complimentary ice cream.

I had the spaghetti. It wasn't all that great. Not enough sauce compared to pasta. The bread was good. I did enjoy the complimentary ice cream after dinner.

For the price, the food actually gives you a lot of value. There are several selections you can make for under $20 that accompanies a choice of salad or soup, tea or coffee, unlimited bread with garlic butter and a scoop of ice cream to finish off your meal. The portions are large and satisfying. Usually, just on the bread and salad alone, I get quite full and have to pack my pasta up to take home. My personal favorites are the Chicken Penne and the Clam Spaghetti for entrees and for appetizers the bam bam shrimp and a peach Bellini. The service is usually pretty good unless you go during peak times where they are insanely busy. The ambiance is set in the older fashion. Booth seats, wooden chairs and tables. They have a wooden boat you can sit in for your meal and lots of pictures of what you would see from the olden days

The last time I came here was almost 20 years ago for lunch and after my visit I got pink eye so I never returned. We were in the area and decided to have dinner there. It was shortly before 8 and there were a few people waiting for a table ahead of us. They cleaned up some tables and we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. The booth was at the front of the restaurant but on the side so I liked that. Our server was very friendly and she came to get our drink orders and then bought them back with our bread. I love that warm bread where the garlic butter just melts right into it. I ordered the seafood linguine marinara and has a salad with the sesame dressing on the side. The salad dressing was very good and the salad had nice and dark green leaves. The pasta arrived shortly after we finished the salad and the timing of the food was perfect especially being busy in the restaurant. There was a decent amount of shrimp, scallops, and mushrooms. After eating bread and salad, I ate half my pasta and had the rest the next day. I was pleasantly surprised as I remember previous visits I didn't like the mushy spaghetti. Also, no pink eye after this visit so I'm safe to return again.

I have been to Old Spaghetti factory number of times in Calgary and had a really good experience on each visit. My friends came from India to visit us and we decided to bring them here for lunch. We reached here around 3:30pm and the best thing was it was not very busy at that time. I am a really fan of their Sourdough bread served with regular and garlic butter. We ordered: 1. My all time favourite Penne with Chicken 2. Spaghetti Meatballs: These classic hand rolled meatballs served with the Italian Marinara sauce topped with fresh parmesan cheese was a great one to start your lunch. 3. Fresh Vegetarian Lasagne from their oven served over layers of spinach lasagna noodles. Rating: Ambience: 4.5/5 (Always amazed by their ambience) Taste: 4/5 Presentation: 4/5 Value for money: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5

First review of 2019. Let's kick it off with this banger! OSF is a classic. It's been around for ages and I don't think the business is going anywhere anytime soon... I honestly don't know what to say. You get your best bang for you buck here. At lunchtime, $15 will get you a soup or salad, pasta and dessert and coffee and tea... are you fucking kidding me? What more can they add? The keys the restaurant? My go-to here is the chicken penne with the side of French onion soup.... damn. The French onion soup here is incredibly cheesy and hearty.. the cheese sticks to the bowl and to your gums. The chicken penne is a classic. As for the pictures, you can see that I clearly fucked up and got a house salad... (don't get this as a side)... Some of you out there might criticize this review and compare it against those other snobby Italian restaurants whom which serve you a kid sized portion of alphagettis for triple the price. But hear me out. You get your money's worth for the food and it's not insanely terrible. There could be more seasoning here and there but which place couldn't use a touch of salt and peppa. Anyways at dinner time, budget an extra $5. It's worth a shot and it won't break the back. 5 stars!

Does anyone not love the Old Spaghetti Factory? It's one of the few places in Edmonton that I've been to as a child, a teen, a young adult, an adult, a parent, a boss and a host for out-of-towners. That should give an idea of the range that the Old Spaghetti Factory can serve. I can take staff there for a Christmas Lunch...I can go there on a date...the kids love it no matter how old they get... I like the all-inclusive meal...bread, soup or salad, entree and spumoni for dessert. Tried and true. Most of the time there's no wait and there's street parking all around.

A classic bowl of their spaghetti served with a mild hot sauce for an extra bit of kick. It was great!

If you like pasta and/or spaghetti, and let's be real, who doesn't, you're probably a fan of this place just like I am. They have other items on their menu of course, but they make the classic dish just about any way you want it and make it well. It's casual, almost vintage kind of atmosphere plus great service makes it an ideal place for a date night or to bring the whole family along for a great meal together. Drop by and grab a dish for yourself!

Now this is the second time I've been here and I really enjoyed the first experience i had here. The meals here always come with a free loaf of fresh bread to munch on, with a choice of two different butters (garlic or regular) for spread. The main course also comes with a choice of garden salad or minestrone. Our server informed us that the minestrone was good, upon seeing us struggling on our choice for soup or salad, so all three of us settled on the minestrone soup. The service was a bit slow but our server did inform us it was her first shift alone, though she did make a valiant effort. 25 minutes in after ordering we received our soup. We all found it to be a bit salty and not that wowing but it wasn't too horrible. An extra 25 minutes after we finished our soup, we got our dishes. My friends both had different variations of the seafood pasta, one with linguini and the other with Alfredo. I myself ordered the Cajun chicken Alfredo as I ordered it the first time we came here and I loved it. The pastas we ordered were super filling, and I barely got through 1/3 of my pasta as I was already super filled from the bread and soup. Plus 1+ points for going home with left overs! My friends managed to finish their meals but slowly and sluggishly as they too were full to the brim. The end of the meal came with complimentary ice cream, choice of a mixture of pistachio, vanilla and chocolate or regular vanilla. We all opted for the first choice and rolled out of there paying less than 23 bucks per person. Tl;DR Super filling, comes with complimentary soup/salad, fresh bread, and ice cream. Service was a bit slow, but attentive.

    out on the town!

I started the meal with the Don Vito cocktail, a spirit forward sweet concoction of Cognac, Bourbon and Limoncello. Immediately felt like it set the perfect tone for dinner. The tasting menu started with four appetizers, the Arancini, Goat Ricotta Crostini, Insalata Siciliana and the Culatello. My favorite was the arancini as it was packed full of melty cheese with so much flavor. The culatello was a crowd favorite and the crostini was a great palate cleanser. For secondi we had the Truffle Gnudi and Paccheri. For people who like meaty flavors go with the paccheri, but I liked the light cheese and truffle of the gnudi. By the time the Pollo Al Mattone came around, I could only manage a mouthful of the succulent brick chicken and the fresh cabbage salad as I was so full and would need to be rolled out of the restaurant. We ended with the Chocolate Budino, which was dark, creamy and delicious. A great tasting menu at a great price, especially compared to Toronto prices!

I like that the bartender just works on drinks for servers and there aren't patrons directly ordering drinks from him to slow the service.

Place has "very fancy" feel and would be good for special events/celebration dinners. Free bread to start was fine but not the best I have had. I prefer mine with butter but the oil/vinegar is probably more typical. We tried the: Calamari: 10/10, great texture, loved that we got 2 sauces to dip in. Fettuccine Tavolino (cheese wheel pasta): 10/10. Boyfriend was not too full after. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Nice cheesy creamy flavor. Ravioli Alla Zucca: 9/10, I can't remember if there were 6 or 7 ravioli in the dish. Very pleasing presentation. In my opinion too many sundried tomatoes. I love that it comes with sundried tomatoes as that added some great tang/flavor. Ravioli themselves were perfectly cooked. Brown butter sauce was excellent and wanted more. Creme Brule: 9/10, exactly as expected, definitely enough to share between 2 people. Affogato: vanilla gelato was 11/10 good to me but boyfriend didn't like the flavor. We both agree the espresso was excellent. Very small portion (too small to share!). Free cookies at the end were fine. Overall food was excellent and I'll be back but to try something different on the menu.

The complimentary bread was great, the martini's good although one glass had far more than the other. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and although quite different from what we make at home, was excellent! K had the Alfredo flambé which was fired up tableside. It seems to be a popular option as it happened 6 or 7 times while we dined. They also don't soak you for the privilege of the tableside presentation. It was a little cheesy for K, but excellent nonetheless. Our server Eugenia from Hamburg was excellent, she can serve us anytime. She was attentive, and her timing was exceptional! We plan on making a reservation the next time we are in Edmonton. Top notch experience!

Like a truly experienced business owner, he can be having all kinds of challenges thrown at him, and he just keeps rolling, never skips a beat. I'll definitely be back for the virgin basil strawberry smash and the excellent prawns. They were happy to make substitutions to make the pasta dish exactly what I had been dreaming of. (The only complaint is that the scallops were tiny and not what I expected since I'm use to the big kind. I'd add more seafood for the price, is the only thing I'd change!) Server was nice but never refilled our table water even after we moved it a couple times to be within her view of the table (my friend swears he saw her see us move it to the edge of the table too). Rialto Float cocktail was nice if you like Pisco. Royal Jamaican Ginger beer was good too. Olive Calde - large portion for price. Olives were fine. Calamari - 10/10 delicious, dips were great too. Gnocchi with pancetta - 10/10, surprising filling and even though the Gnocchi were huge chunks they were well cooked. Waitress recommend Campanella Aragosta - 7/10. If you like spicy it's fine but otherwise the flavor is actually very bland. Pasta itself was unique and well cooked. Large portion. Beef Brisket Agnolotti - 7/10, 8 large ravioli filled with brisket. Sauce was good, ravioli were well cooked but brisket inside was pretty underwhelming. Friend who got this dish was ++ hungry still after and said he would order something else next time for the price. Funghi Cipolla - 8/10, it was as expected. Ricotta cheesecake - cheesecake itself was great with the ricotta taste but crust was soooo bad. So overly thick and dry and considering our waitress failed to give us water the entire meal it was impossible to eat (so dry). Date cake - Unfortunately they didn't have gelato as was advertised on the menu to go with the cake so whipped cream was substituted. Was told this only after we ordered and friend asked for the flavors of gelato. Cake had a few uncooked flour lumps. Flavor was fine but not as flavorful/spice-heavy as I hoped. Sprouts on top looked really messy but tasted fine. Overall not a seamless experience as I would have expected from an establishment of this caliber.
