I love the food here. I love the casual dining in the lounge area and enjoy the more refined experience of the dining room as well. The wine selection is great, the restaurant is usually pretty busy but we are always taken care of. I love the community vibe and the subtle seasonal changes to the menu to celebrate garlic or mushrooms, or whatever. It's always good! I love that it is close by our home here in Stony and the pizza is artisanal and unique. It's our go to to celebrate with friends, a date night out or when we're out and about and it's too late to start cooking. I highly recommend! read more

This was our first time visiting this location which is weird since it's the closest to home. They are situated in an out-of-the-way area of Stony Plain in a super-cute little outdoor mall and when you pull up it feels like you're tucked away in a cozy little mountain town. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we managed to get a table right away. The decor is nice, the ambiance is warm & friendly, and the tables are close together so it feels cozy. The drink special was $2 off caesars, so I had a dill pickle Caesar and a bacon Caesar, both were delicious! Hubby had a beer (boring, I know). I ordered the special which was prosciutto wrapped sole w/pan fried shrimp covered with a buttery white wine sauce and a side of mashed potatoes, asparagus and bacon brussel sprouts. Other than being a touch salty, the meal was delicious! Hubby ordered the veal cannelloni with a side Caesar salad. He also said his dish was a bit over salted. The service from every single staff member we encountered was absolutely top notch! I get why they're so busy here, such a hidden gem. We will most definitely be back! read more

Will not be returning ! The manager refused to sit us where it was less windy on the patio bc the table was reserved for six teachers that come every week for the last four years. Before I would ever give any restaurant a bad review I have to give it a shot at least 3 times....that being said, the last trip here was by far the worst. It was their one year anniversary I think and they were having a porchetta roast and live entertainment. Aside from the flies around the roast pig left out unattended, the price for the porchetta (one plate) buffet in pretty sure was more than what it was for the meal on the menu. There was no mention to the fact that they were pretty much out of meat and still offering it as an option. Glad we skipped that. Started with some mushroom bruschetta, pulled a piece of plastic wrap out of my my mouth that I almost swallowed, mixed into the mushroom. Shortly after that pulled a long blonde hair out of my sangria....neither of us have blonde hair. Watched as they dismantled the buffet and then instead of heading out the patio and into the back kitchen door the tiny waitress attempted to weave the serving trays full of water between the tables. The poor lady next to us received a nice warm bath of tray water all down her back...lovely. Didn't stop them from trying to get all the other trays inside the same way, just waiting for a soaking at our table. Now, all the experiences aren't all that bad, but the food certainly is. The menu looks delicious, but the flavor just isn't there. Often food is cold or improperly cooked. Service is never great, but combine that with the uninspired food and you've lost my business. Three times I tried this place, three times disappointed. Do yourself a favor and try the authentic Italian place that's in spruce grove. Don't waste your time here. read more

Passing through town and stayed at Camp n Class down the road. Short drive to Sorrentinos. Dinner was fabulous! I had Penne Arrabbiate, authentic and so good! Hubby had Veal Mushroom Piccata and enjoyed it as well. Caesar salad was so good and bread that accompanied it. Wine list was great! Authentic Italian wines from finer vineyards. Service was spectacular. Our waitress was from Italy. She was so sweet and did a wonderful job. Raspberry gelato to finish dinner. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant! read more

NO STARS. our waitress was the sweetest, but oblivious to the fact we were there for an extremely long time waiting for drinks/food. it wasn't busy, we waited for over an hour for our appetizers & then an another hour + for our main course, it took so long we considered leaving. whenthe food came & it wasn't anything special, especially for the price & if you want garlic toast with your pasta it costs extra. such a shame as it is in our neighborhood & has a nice patio, we definitely won't be going back. read more

Was excited to dine at Sorrrentinos this past week. Unfortunately things did not go so well. It started when my COVID QR code was being scanned. Customer beside me at the door (whom I did not know) commented on my code being printed and on paper and not on my cell. I guess I must have moved when she spoke to me. Fellow at the door told me, with annoyance in his voice, to stay still so he could scan my code. He was struggling maybe because it is in a plastic sleeve (nobody else has had trouble scanning my QR code). I mentioned if there is a glare the plastic comes off. Maybe he didn't hear me as he kept on struggling but finally got it. He then seated the other guests and came back to the door surprised to see me still standing there. I did not come in with them and I am still puzzled as to why he didn't notice that. He did realize at that point I was with the group in the private room and that was good. I ordered appetizers and a beet salad for my meal. I didn't think to tell the waitress to bring them together as a meal and she did not ask. The other dozen or so ladies got their appetizer and salad together as a meal and when I said what the heck they told me the waitress asked them. So I got my appetizer first. It was pretty good until I got to the rock hard over cooked sausage. Not sure but it appeared to have been deep fried too much - and why? I didn't eat it. My beet salad arrived. I had requested easy on the vinagerette dressing.....apparently that means no dressing. The beets and lettuce were good but the added chicken was luke warm, dry, sliced pieces of what looked and tasted like cooked ahead chicken breast. I didn't eat it. either. The best part of the meal was the $13.00 glass of wine. I should have just bought a bottle of wine and stayed home. I will try Sorrentinos again sometime based on their reputation and not on my experience. Hope next time is better. read more

Went for dinner on a Friday night before a concert. It was good we made a reservation, as the restaurant was full. We were well greeted. Choosing something different to start, with the fig salad. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, however, we were not sure were the fig came in, and the dressing was unpleasant, it could have been "off". This was left unfinished. I choose the wood fired mushroom pizza, while my partner went with the special of the night, grilled halibut on fusili pasta with a mushroom sauce. The food came out quickly. The mushroom pizza was good. The halibut was a little dry, and inexplicably came on a bed of gnocchi with pancetta. This dish was not worth the price of $29.00. Unfortunately, we were not asked how our meals were, perhaps we would have given our feedback. For a Friday night, the chefs should have been ontop of their game. Disappointing. read more

Huge servings!Tasty food and you certainly get your money's worth. Timing was perfect,not too long of a wait and everything came out hot. Ambience was nice but found the lighting was too bright for dinner. The place seems new as reflected by the service. Flatbread appy was plenty but too much for 3 people to share. We were offered a sweet oil drizzle for it, but it turned out to be a spicy oil drizzle-which could be a turn off for those who don't like a little kick. Our server described the pasta of the day as spaghetti with some tomato sauce (turned out to be bolognese). My carbonara was tasty but it was sitting in a pool of oil. The pancetta was a little on the skimpy side and felt I was eating oily cheesy noodles that could have benefitted from more flavouring/salt from the pancetta. The egg was poa ched perfectly though. I'd like to suggest that the server doesn't free pour the water as it splashed everywhere but at least she asked us to move our phone. Instead, pick up the glass and pour away from your guests to avoid getting everything wet. She offered to refill my drink but the other members of my party had to ask which resulted in multiple trips for her. I ordered an espresso at the end of my meal and received a Caffe Corrento which was espresso and sambuca! Quite a surprise if you don't like alcohol or black licorice (I like both but wasn't expecting it!). They quickly fixed it for me. Overall the food was great and hopefully when we return the kinks will all be ironed out! read more

This place is tough to rate. When it first opened the food and service was top notch. Later...the service was ok...and food was fine. Now I only go to the lounge as the prices are too high to risk having an average meal. That being said, i have never had a bad experience in the lounge and it is by far the best atmosphere in Stony as far as lounge experiences go. read more

We visited for our anniversary and it was so disappointing. The lasagna was stone cold in the middle and warmish everywhere else only because of the screaming hot plate it was presented in. The chicken and shrimp we overcooked, dry and the green beans were raw however the kids meals were SO hot they couldn't touch them for 10 minutes. The waitress was wonderful but she was overshadowed by the rudest most arrogant man who we believed was the manager. He bulldozed her and took over every chance he got, it was like dealing with Jekyll and Hyde! We have visited before and taken out of town guests here and had a wonderful meal but the same experience with the 'manager.' (Not positive that's who he is.) When we left the restaurant our one and half year old grandson walked into one of the purse hooks that were sticking out from under a table. A little lower and it would have caught his eye. No one came over to see what was wrong as we left. We won't be back and would say there are lots of really, really great places to eat right in Stony Plain who deserve your business more then Sorrentino's!! read more

First off, the food is awesome! I've been to this location several times but it seems each time I go there's always something that makes my experience a little less than par. Last time I was there it was a slow night, the server didn't write our order down, didn't tell us about any specials and when I asked about them when she came back to take our food order she didn't know them and had to go get her 'cheat sheet' which she could've had it with her to be more efficient. I ordered veggies and mashed potatoes as sides with my meal (because she said the only potato option that night was mashed) but when my food came there were no potatoes. My hubby ordered a steak with fries & gravy but they didn't give him veggies and she forgot his gravy. She wasn't even apologetic about it and by the time he got it his fries were half finished. And for $35 it was a small steak and NO veggies to be seen!! She finally came back to me when I had a few bites left to notify me that unfortunately there were no more mashed potatoes...ummmm you'd think she would've realized that when she ordered them with the rest of my food?? So she offered me roasted potatoes to take home (which I would've preferred with my meal originally but that wasn't an option I was told??) When we got the bill she couldn't even take the gravy off the bill or give me a discount for messing up my order. No apologies, no poops to be given at all on the waitresses part! She said she could get the manager then we waited for close to ten minutes just for that. VERY unimpressed at this point! The manager was friendly and apologized and gave us a 2 for 1 appy coupon for the next time and took care of my meal. read more

I would not recommend this sorrentinos to anyone. A couple weeks ago my aunt and uncle came out of town, although food and services were not fantastic for the small portions and prices for their average food it is a new restaurant and we were sure they were working through their hiccups. Everyone who paid at the table tipped well, more than 15%. The waiter came up to the table (in the restaurant side) and scolded us for under tipping us. He made it his mission that everyone in the restaurant knew that he did not get tipped enough. My aunt and uncle lost their house in the fort mcmurray fires, and did not bring up this incident once, as you could image they rather not discuss the fact that they lost all their belongings and priced positions after dramatically having to evacuate AFTER watching their house burn to the ground half a year ago. I would like to add their insurance company has yet to settle with them and they did not use this excuse to "under tip" the ignorant waiter at all. They are not people to complain even though the waiter completely made an ass off himself and embarrassed my whole family. Despite that incident we decided to give the restaurant another chance for my sister's birthday, nothing against the restaurant, it was just that one ignorant waitor. The restaurant was average, we did not get served right away even though it was dead, food was average, my mom had to eat her burger with a knife and fork because it all fell apart on her. The waitress was really sweet even though a bit inexperienced (we all have to learn somewhere I get it) but for the big prices and small portions and quality of food it was not worth it. Will not be going back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

We were a table of eight with advanced reservations on a Friday night. Service was terrible and food was not up to Sorentinos standards. We watched the manager pass by our table several times noticing that our appetizer plates were sitting dirty in front of us until our meals came out. The same manager was also standing at the front desk fiddling with the menus while his wait staff were bustling around trying to keep ahead of the game. Our server did not once come to our table to ask how everything was and one of our kids was served raw salmon that took another 30 minutes to reappear. I am so disappointed, I do not expect that level of service from a high end high priced restaurant. The manager was also clearing dirty dishes from one table and transferring it to another empty dirty table and then proceeded to get one of his food runners to clean the table. Very disappointed and will most likely not go back. I could go on but I feel that I've said enough. read more
