We weren't sure if we wanted to eat at Match but we saw the brunch menu and it was ending in 15 minutes so we decided to try it out. Having tried the location downtown and not leaving impressed, I was hoping for a much better experience and it was. At first our hostess showed us a long table and high seats but we asked if we could sit at a table for 4 or a large booth and she said the booth would be good. It was a very comfortable and spacious. There are TVs around showing golf, hockey, and I think curling. The brunch menu starts at 10am until 2pm on weekends. The skillet hash and frittata appealed to me the most and I went with the hash. The server let us know that the food was taking a bit of time but she asked the kitchen to rush it. It didn't seem too long of a wait. The skillet was hot and it came with 2 eggs cooked to my liking, chunks of potatoes with lots of cheese, mushrooms, red peppers, corn beef, and I think onions too. The skillet was pretty oily but the food wasn't too heavy and greasy. I didn't eat all the cheese though. The portion size was not huge but enough food for me for a late brunch. Our server was friendly and attentive. The service is way better than the downtown location. They have daily specials and I would come back for taco Tuesday, pasta Wednesday, or wing Thursday. This is one of the restaurants connected to the Starlight casino which offers pub food in a more casual setting. There is a bar in the heated patio for those who like to enjoy the outdoors, inside is a more quieter section and then the "pub" area near the back of the restaurant which has another bar and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. The menu has daily drink and food specials. I really enjoy the beef dip here, the meat is thinly sliced and tender and comes on a nice bun with fries. Other sides such as a salad or yam fries is available for a minimal additional charge. There are several flavours of wings (Thursday special price), three unique poutines definitely have to share. The soy glazed salmon bowl has a good size piece of salmon with green beans, other vegetables and pickled ginger. My husband enjoyed it but not sure if he would order again if it he had to pay $22.75. On Fridays this bowl is $5 cheaper. The spaghetti and meatballs look like a small portion and comes with a piece of bread. It did look good and my daughter confirmed that. The service here is just fine, no complaints. Servers are usually young ones but efficient. Gender neutral bathrooms so don't be surprised when you open the door and the first thing you see is a urinal! Nice place to go before or after gambling. January is birthday season, so with that, of course there are a lot of new delicious restaurants to try. I had never been to Match before, but it looks like it is the sister company of Atlas Steakhouse, in the Rogers Arena Casino. My expectations were, accordingly, quite high as Atlas was great. I would describe Match as a pub-like restaurant, with open areas that have access to TV screens to watch sporting events. We had a group of about 20 people, and they took reservations for the group. This was a plus, as many restaurants are not able to accommodate reservations of that size. *Disclaimer - if you don't eat meat, don't read the below* Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my food. I ordered a medium rare steak, and specified what I was looking for: bloody on the inside, and nicely charred on the outside. When I got my steak, it was not cooked properly. I really dislike returning my food, but this was a treat for me, and I decided to. ** It should be noted that there was at least one other person who ordered a steak that had to also be returned as it wasn't cooked properly. The waitress was accommodating and kind, however, she returned saying that the chef advised that the steak was made correctly, so she advised that she would talk to the manager and clarify what was happening. The manager came after my second steak arrived and we discussed the situation, after which he had apologized, which I do appreciate. They did make an effort to remedy the situation by bringing out signature drinks for those who's orders needed to be redone. I am giving this a 2 star review right now, as I feel like there were a few things that could have been done to make this a better experience: 1. If the chef disagrees with the customer, do not share that with the customer. 2. Ask the customer if there is something they would like something from the menu to remedy a situation - even giving specific options, rather than just assuming. There are many reasons why someone can't drink, so it would be better to ask first or have an alternate option. I am willing to go try it again and hopefully have a better experience. My wife had been to Match before me and I affectionately called the place Match.com eatery. After trying and failing at booking dinner reservations at another place, we were pleasantly surprised when we could make a very late reservation on open table. Arrived and indeed our reservations were there. The host greeted us and asked if we wanted a table in the restaurant or in the lounge. She had suggested the lounge as there appeared to be a large number of large families in the restaurant and she suggested that it might be a bit quieter. Quieter is a bit of a relative term as there are a large number of TVs in the lounge and the sound on the main screen is pretty loud. We were seated a huge booth. Our server was over with drink and food menus. Both fairly extensive. Almost to the point of analysis paralysis. Too many choices you don't know what to choose. We ordered up some drinks and our food. Went with the Waffle + Chicken and wife went with what was called a Turkey clubhouse sandwich. In no time the food was on the table. The Waffle + Chicken was delish. But I quickly realized how filling this meal is going to be. There was a really lovely maple/bourbon flavour sauce in the sandwich. Great combo. The turkey clubhouse was equally as good with an apply chutney in it. Mmmm. Overall, Service was very good and the food was great too. Service is also spot on. Reserved for a Friday evening for one of my friends bday. I was able to find parking close to the front. The venue is at a excellent location. It's very clean and modern, has a sports bar area w coed bathrooms. The ambience is very beautiful and has an amazing outdoor patio which has a convertible outdoor bar in the summer months. I recently knew about this place through the Yelp YEGAS Party Pamela inviting me too. Now my friends are excited to come back again Server Cecil was great and made this dinner extra special with a surprise Birthday Cake. Service was lovely from start to finish. We were shown to table and introduced to our server who was very chatty and had good rapport with our table. We ordered a few appetizers and the mini sliders were the stand out items. Really tasty mini burgers and cute fries in tall shot glasses. The fries tasted exactly like McDonald's fries... how did they do that? So we ordered mere fries lol I also tried the lettuce wraps but there was something missing. It was good but it was definitely missing an ingredient that would have pushed it over the edge. One SUPER nice thing was the chef came out to talk to everyone in the restaurant. He was so pleasant and seemed like he genuinely cared about your experience. Decor is beautiful, I loved the booths as they were really roomy! The service was pretty good. Offered refills multiple times, and checked on us to make sure everything was good with our meals. The patio is good enough. Not a great view but nice to sit outside when the weather is good. The food was better than expected. The new summer menu was impressive. Good came quick, it was filling and the price was right. The first time we ate here. we had the Fish & Chips and were not too impressed. Perhaps it was just our mood, how can you not be impressed with Fish & Chips? Very good service! Since our 1st time, we have been back 3 more and have been fully satisfied. My Wife and I had a good time here. The menu had a great selection at what I thought were very reasonable prices. The layout of the restaurant was really smart as it was nearly seamless between the restaurant and patio. The patio was one of the best I have seen in the city with comfy looking seating areas and our booth inside was very comfy as well. The staff were very friendly and I so loved their signature drink ( I typically don't like mixed drinks). The burger was delicious too. read more

Not impressed at all. Arrived at 545 Friday eve and the place was not busy. Waited 15 min for water, 30 min for drinks then over 1 hour for our meal which was mediocre We were told we would be given the prices for happy hour and they would make up for the long wait. We were give. The happy hour prices for a couple of the items we had ordered that were on the happy hour menu. They did adjust that and that was it. No sign of a manager. Not impressed won't return. They definitely take advantage of the tourists Went to the casino after and it was far from impressive. Nothing seemed new and the vibe was depressing. Told the waiter and he got lippy and said "they must have been alright, you ate most of them" Amazing, you pump a bunch of money into the Casino and come to get a bite to eat and get a waiter with a bad attitude.
