I was there with a large group of people, who have been to this establishment several times on Wing Wednesdays in the past. The past experiences have all been fantastic and with a standard wait time for a large group. This evening was a completely different story. I am not sure the young woman's name, but I was with the group at the back of the restaurant. I got my ice tea with no ice in a timely manner; however another customer had to ask twice for his root beer, which in the end after an hour, I went up to the Bar and grabbed. As well, another customer had to ask twice for his beer that he ordered and when it didn't come out, he too had to go up to the bar to receive his beer. During this time, several other customers have arrived and been helped with drink orders and food orders being taken. My food order was taken shortly after 6pm, and at 720pm the waitress was told to come deal with our table as we were still waiting...... that was when we were informed, she hadn't put our orders in as the "page" was missed. I told her to cancel my order and that I wasn't paying for my drink at this point, and to bring the manager over. The manager was highly unprofessional and arrogant. I was pointing out that we had people order drinks twice and still not received them until we went up ourselves to get them. That is when the manager came back and said it's due to the fact that the large group was allowed here tonight, as the policy is to not allow large groups on Wing night. Which I find funny as I have been to three other event nights with this group on wing nights, one earlier this year. He then proceeded to laugh at myself when I said I was a server and was informed by him that he feels sorry for anyone who deals with my energy in person. Your server never once came to check on my table, we had to grab her each time. She was more focused on the larger tables around us, as they all were getting refills of their drinks, their food in a timely manner and their bills. I can understand large groups are harder on the staff, but when people who came in after yourself are getting drinks, and food..... when you ordered before them, and then you have to have someone else not from your table ask the waitress to do her job and take care of our table as others are noticing we are all just sitting there. That is horrible service and not only will I be sending this email, but I will be copying it and posting it on google and yelp, as well as Facebook. Not sure what happened, as like I stated before, the past times I have been there with this large group, everyone has been handled in a timely manner, but to have a full table forgotten and then the waitress to say she forgot to put the food orders in, as she "missed" the page but it took over an hour for her to even stop at the table plus she had to be asked to check on us by other customers, that's not right. read more

One of the best places to go in Spruce Grove if you're not into overly crowded bars (cough cough Brew House cough cough). The food is mediocre but luckily the service makes up for it. Drinks are reasonably priced for the most part. Every weekend it's busy with loud music and people. The good part is that it's not deafening like most places. They cater to the older crowd (mid 20s - 40s) which is amazing in my books. Amazing job Beer Hunter. Just get more parking and I'll be 100% happy! read more

2 words... Wobbly Wednesday... all drinks $4. And as a Guinness drinker that is a beautiful thing. Wings are also cheap on Wednesday and let me tell you, their wings are not your typical crap cheap wings. The only downfall with the Spruce Grove location is the amount and placing of TV's. compared to other sports bars they are missing out and need to expand. I couldn't imagine what an NFL Sunday would be like with so few TV's. read more

On a Wednesday night you would think it would not be too busy even during playoffs. It wasn't too bad but the service was extremely poor. Sat for 10 minutes before anyone even stopped by. Got the "look" from a couple of servers but that was it. Ordered an appetizer. Took over 20 minutes to get that. Hadn't even ordered a main course. Not sure why it's so unorganized here. They have been here for years and is generally a good place to go. But in this day and age I'll take my $ elsewhere read more

My husband and I are regulars for the free breakfast at Beer Hunter! I mean, how can you go wrong with buying a pint and getting a delicious meal on the side! We usually go to the one on the west end of Edmonton but had some errands to run in Spruce Grove today and decided to stop at that location. It was by far the BEST breakfast I've ever had. I ordered poached eggs with extra crispy bacon and both were done to perfection! I am not very picky but I get very excited when the food is flawless! I went here not expecting much due to the reputation it has as being a biker wanna be dive bar. But overall the experience was pretty good. The interior is not the most modern but it was comfortable in an old school, small town pub kind of way. Beer was cold and the selection was average..again..small town pub-ish. Never tried the food. The service...I found it to be good. Attentive, not pretentious and overall down to earth and friendly. I was there in the afternoon and crowd was good. Waited 45 minutes for 2 appetizers and 2 plates of wings for them to just come out together. I Understand there's social distancing acts in place at the moment. But watching 4 tables that got sat after us and get served their meals before ours is not okay by any means. A girlfriend and myself went there on a Thursday after the oilers game to sing some karaoke and have a few beers. After seeing a waitress sitting down with a young table of guys in the section we sat we then waited for 20 minutes before another waitress came over to take our drink orders. She dropped them off and disappeared. My friend got up and clear away the dirty plates that were left and grab menus. She walked past 2 waitresses neither offering to help and grabbed our menus. A friend who was singing karaoke sat down momentarily to say hello and whe we told him we hadn't been served nor seen our waitress in a while he started calling her over the PA system. She still didn't come over. Needless to say we walked out pissed off. Terrible service. Guess if your a woman you don't get service there, sad that we cleaned the table and served ourself. Very busy place around supper time. Service was awesome. The girls here are super friendly! We came for 5 and drinks were half price! We had the wings to start. They were super crispy which I loved. We had salt n pepper and I would have liked more seasoning. For the entrees we had the jack Daniel burger and the snack burger (I'm on a diet). The JD burger wasn't really that good beachside the burger was quite over cooked. It was actually burned so it was hard to taste anything else. Disappointing. The snack burger though was tasty. I could imagine it would be a great place to hang out on the weekend. I was surprised with the turn out of the crowd. A few Tv's and it appeared to have a dance floor, served food and drinks. I think our get together wasn't appropriate for the location as we were basically loosing our voices trying to shout over the music. I think I would go back again under different circumstances, but certainly not if I was trying to get to know someone, or visit more formally with friends. read more

Probably the best place to go for Friday Night Wings and beer in Spruce Grove. The wings are delicious, and the beer is cold and reasonably priced. The bucket cocktails are tasty and fun, you even get to keep the bucket! Service has definitely gone downhill in the past few months, I used to be able to be able to recognize the waiteresses, now we get a new one every friday night. As a result, service is slower and just not as good. I had a waitress who only remember to wipe down the dirty table for us after she brought us our food. Be warned about The Ranch Dressing, on $5.00 wing nights, they've started charging $4.00 for Ranch Dressing. We've always declined in the past, because we don't like ranch. The last waitress didn't even ask, which led to a conversation about how we weren't going to pay $30 for ranch dressing we didn't even use. It was just kind of offensive to be charged $30 for seven little cups of ranch that sat in the middle of the table uneaten. Especially since we had all ordered at least two drinks, as well as cocktails. It was an early supper for me tonight we were in about 4:30. It was quiet except for some regulars at the bar. Service was good and the food came out fast and hot. One rookie mistake was we were not even half way through our appetizer and they brought out our mains. Which lead to our mains being cooler than we liked. There was also a shift change while we were there and our waitress didn't even let us know and we we left alone for quite a while wanting drinks before someone else came to our table. Used to frequent this place quite often when it first opened, but service is steadily gone downhill past 6 months. Walked out after waiting to be served a few weeks back. Thinking it was just a 'one time bad service thing' we decided to give it another try tonight- wrong!! Service was basically none existent again so we decided to go over to the Canadian Brewhouse. I can't believe how incompetent the management has become at Beer Hunter in Spruce Grove. They should spend a couple of hours over at the Brewhouse and learn how to successful manage a bar. read more

5 people in our party out for after work dinner and a few drinks. Service was very poor as we could never find our waitress. When she did arrive not very friendly at all. Placed our orders and two out of the 5 orders were incorrect. We waited too long for our meals and one person preferred not to order again. The manager did come by and apologize for the error and offer up free wings for the error. Waitress disappeared again meals were complete waited a long time to get drink refills then just gave up. Asked for our bills and again nothing. Went up to the servers station and again asked for our bills. Third time I just asked to put it on one bill as separate appeared to be an issue. Got a snotty response and paid the $173 bill no tip. Do not understand the poor service but perhaps it was reflected by the few number of people there. Not many for a Friday night. Food that was correct was fine nothing out of the ordinary to say the least with fair size portions. Nothing to love here just your typical chain restaurant with very poor service. With several other choices near this location won't be returning again. read more
