A beautiful gold (maybe 150?) and I am so happy she persuaded me to do this shape and color!

A great, CLEAN place to be. The service was on par, and this is a very professional place. My sister and I got our nails done here the other day, and they really did exactly what we wanted. I was very pleased with the pricing as other places are much more expensive. This was super relaxing and overall a very good experience.

I had a great experience here. We followed the new owners from their old place to here. Love the professionalism and service as well as the artists creativity. Always a relaxing time coming here.

I went here to get my nails fixed from where 'Nail Vogue' destroyed them. They were extremely nice and welcoming. They offered me water, soda ect. My nail techs name was David I believe. He asked me exactly what I needed done and he understood my request. There was a small wait but it was worth it. He needed up adding acrylic to the set I already had and he fixed my broken nail. He gave me a discount on my gel after I told him about how I JUST paid for a full set the day before. At the end of my visit I was extremely satisfied and I will be returning.

Recently moved back to Birmingham after my husband and I decided to start our own business close to our hometown. Back in Florida, I was a regular at this one nail shop where I had been going to for over 7 years; I'm very particular about who I go to for my nails because let's be real, who wants to pay all that money to have their nails done horribly? Having heard a lot of praise about this nail place, I finally decided to try it out for the first time this summer. As soon as you walk in, expect to be greeted by one of the workers who will ask about how you're doing and how your day went. That's a huge plus in my book; they try to communicate well with you instead of rushing you in right away to get your money. The lady who seems to always be there did my pedicure while another younger gentleman gave me a gel manicure. The service overall was very thorough and not rushed, and during that whole time, I did not feel uncomfortable as both of them tried to carry a conversation with me instead of yakking away in their native language. For me, in order to assess whether a nail shop is worth coming back to or not, you would have to look at the condition of your nails a few days or weeks after you walk out of that place. My gel manicure lasted for over 2.5 weeks, while the regular polish on my feet lasted up to a month. I believe I only paid $52 for both services. So far this has been my favorite place to go to. Will I try to explore other shops in Vestavia/Birmingham? Maybe. But honestly, I'm such a creature of habit that it scares me to switch to anything else.

You can see the bumps most clearly on my index and middle finger.

I went for a gel manicure and the older woman that did my manicure did a terrible job. The establishment is general seems to be kind of thrown together; not cleaning utensils well, patched up equipment, and just general messy appearance. The heat lamp she used for my gel polish had cardboard duct taped to the bottom of it and it kept turning off throughout the manicure so she would have to mess with the plug. This happened about 6 or 7 times. At the end of my manicure my nails have bumps and are the polish was not applied smoothly at all.

They were very busy but it didn't take long for me to get serviced. The nail bar is a great spot for self care relaxation & I'm always pleased with my experience whenever I come here! Check them out!!! It's Yelp approved too!

Oh, uh.... NOT OKAY! I could've sworn i've left like five reviews for Nail Bar Hoover. Jokes on me,…read morenone! Well, you're in for it now. From Homewood to Alabaster, I have tried them all. Disappointment follows by the first, second, or third visit at the latest. If you need a nice clean, well, polished mani or pedi this is it. I constantly try to find a place a little closer to home for convenience, but you cannot beat the level of professionalism, and quality that you receive here. Not to mention you get two free drinks. Not sold yet? They also have a pretty nice loyalty program that allows you to earn points during your visits. I don't know any other salon that incentivizes customers like that in BHAM. I can tell you my horror stories about going to another salon before my wedding and the tech filing half my toe off ONLY to return here so that they can restore my wedding nail dreams. Or how I've never once had a bad experience the dozens of times that I've come. But don't trust me come check it out. It's right off the interstate and worth the extra drive.

Awful experience! I used to live in Birmingham so I, along with my family, have been here several…read moretimes. I've never had an experience like this before. My mom and I got manis (gel for me, powder for my mom) and pedis on a Friday. During the pedicure the technician dug so much around my big toe that I bled. Well that happens sometimes but when I told her to stop, it was fine as is, she laughed. I realized there was a language barrier so a colleague had to translate for her. Again, this happens sometimes and that's fine as well. My concern is that I brought several things to her attention and we were unable to communicate. Another example, I have very sensitive skin and asked that she not use the scrub or oil because of this and that I brought my own. She began using BOTH while my mom and I had to yell to get her to stop or for the colleague to translate. Besides these health oversights by what I took to be licensed professionals, the job the technician did was AWFUL. My toe polish was so outside of the cuticles, the polish was lumpy and uneven. I got the same color on my gel manicure and after 2 days it was already peeling and chipping. I had to go to my grandmother's funeral with it like that, which was the whole reason I was there for the service anyway. I went back a few days later thinking it was the polish and tech because my mom's looked fine with powder. I explained the situation and they told me to start peeling it off myself while the new technician finished with another customer -_- but I obliged. I chose a different polish and was satisfied enough with the results so as I'm attempting to tip the tech, she says it's $25. Excuse me?! The first go round already cost $75 and it was a hack job. The only reason I went back was to fix THEIR bad work. She told me to speak with the front desk and he said that since I chose a different technician and a different polish, it should've been $35 but they can do it for $15. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? If you have techs with varying skill levels the prices should reflect that. FURTHER if you can't stand behind the products you use, why are you using them?!! Any other shop I've ever been to over the DECADES of getting my nails done will fix their own mistakes FREE OF CHARGE. That's because they can actually guarantee their work will hold up. It was courtesy that I was going to even tip AGAIN at all! I should also mention that while I was in there another customer was there for the THIRD time getting her nails fixed for a similar issue!! Terrible work, terrible service, will not be returning.
