A few months ago, I would have given this place rave reviews. Staff was very friendly, and I thought the work was excellent. After some recent experiences, I'm not sure if I'll be back. The last time I was there, my tech let me sit with foils on my nails for 30+ minutes while he took a break. This was especially frustrating, given that I had limited time. He previously told me that the color I chose might appear slightly different, and that if I did not like it, he would add some gel polish to balance it out. He finished up, and did not ask if I liked the end result -- just said "thank you" and quickly brought me up to the counter. While the end result looked fine, the color was wildly different than what I chose, and I was bothered by the way he treated me. If I had more time, I would've said something. Between that and it being impossible now to make an appointment over the phone, I have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I've seen some very entitled clients who ask their tech for multiple color changes, but I really don't think I should have to speak up about something as blatant as this. read more

I used to rave about this place. Not anymore. They've gotten too many "awards" for their own good and customer service has gone down hill. I came in for a walk in appointment - I was told it would be a few minutes. 30 minutes later I hadn't been seen or even updated. All the while the manager played in his phone and several employees were chitchatting in the back. You provide a service. In the midst of a recession that May be starting. Customer service is what's going to keep your business afloat. Per Yelp, I've checked in and spent money here 75 times. I know there are times I didn't check in. You just lost a customer of 10 years. I came in at a rather busy time, but was helped right away and didn't have to wait long to have my nails done. Amy did my nails (gel x) and she did great! Okay, hands down the best nail salon I've ever encountered. I wish I lived closer to go here monthly!! Kristine did my nails, and she was sooo great! Friendly, personable, etc etc. She helped me pick the perfect brown color for fall, and she did a wonderful job with my dip manicure. I researched several places because I had a couple of places to go to in the area. I went with Genesis. I called on Monday and made an appointment. Walked in, greeted, told to pick out a color, and seated. Philip was my nail tech and very friendly. The massage of my hands was very welcoming and he even did the lotion in heart shape for this Valentine's Day 2020, cute!!! I think he did an awesome job! I went and had a full set done on my hands and a pedicure. The girl who did my nails (Mia) not sure of spelling lol. Was wonderful see did exactly what I wanted and very friendly with a great personality. Would definitely let her do them again. . I never get my nails done but wanted to treat myself for an upcoming event. I came in without an appointment at 3pm on a Wednesday. Despite the place being super busy, I was taken to a station quickly and was in and out in less than an hour. The gel manicure I got looked amazing and has lasted so long. I will be back! I came here for my wedding nails and they went above and beyond. I brought in a picture from Pinterest, and I wasn't sure if they were able to do it. The owner took my nails on and made it happen. They did SNS on my nails to strengthen them and make them longer. Then using gel nail polish she was able to get the color and the glitter I wanted. The nails lasted 3 weeks, and removal was a breeze. He made she my nails were shaped and buffered so they still looked nice after the SNS nails were removed. They do a good job every time I have come here! And I'll be coming back for any nail needs. read more

Booked an appointment ahead of time for Saturday 10AM. Our party was seated immediately to start our pedicure. The service was very friendly and made us feel right at home. My pedicure and nail cleaning and shine took about 1 hour. My feet felt so soft and pampered afterwards. I have the ugliest toenails in the world. I don't even have a 5th toenail and somehow they created a toenail with the happy pink nail polish. There are tons of colors to chose from. My fingernails shined in a way I never knew was possible. My nails are okay. But they aren't what I wanted or asked for. The lady who did my nails did not listen to me. She ask if I wanted my nails cut and I replied "no I want to keep the length and just file for shape" She then proceeds to cut my nails. Additionally, I asked for no or very little filing on the top of my nails (I don't care if my dip powder doesn't stay as long!) she then ignored my request and filed the top of my natural nails, which were already thin. A "just okay" experience. I was not acknowledged when I arrived and signed in. I perused the polishes and was preparing to take a seat in the waiting area before someone inquired as to what service I needed (a pedicure). The pedicure was...just okay. It was not what I was expecting for the price and, quite frankly, the location. I won't go into the details of what a typical pedicure entails, but when I noticed the person servicing me was breezing through my pedicure and skipping some steps, I asked her about it. After my feet were dried and moisturized, she went back and executed those skipped steps (which would have been better to do while my feet were still soft from the water). This did not feel all that pleasant:/ The subsequent massage and polish were just okay. I sat at the drying station near the door for about 20 minutes. I observed the staff saying "hello" and "goodbye" to customers as they came and went. As I left, no one said a word (and I went through all the trouble of internalizing my disappointment with pedicure and everything!). Nail shops are a dime a dozen in this area, so I can easily say that I won't return to this one (not that I think they would care if I came back). It was not a particularly bad experience at all, but there are so many other places that charge the same rates and do a better job. Not to mention that many of those other places would actually appreciate my business. I'll still give two stars because the location is clean and conveniently located. read more

Had a good experience getting a pedicure here today. I have been looking for a new nail salon since I moved to Birmingham several months ago. I got the signature pedicure, which was $45 (a little higher than I'm used to but may be normal for Birmingham). The place is really cute inside with a nice atmosphere. Well decorated etc. Also a good location in Homewood near a lot of other restaurants and stuff. Staff is very friendly. When I got here early Saturday morning the place was packed but they got to me very quickly. My service was quick but not rushed. They have a LOT of staff working which made the place run very efficiently. I was pleased with the quality of the service (just a little more than I'm used to paying for similar services in other cities). Overall I'm very pleased and would plan to come back! read more
